Liked - Exceptionally quiet small site but close to coastal towns. Clean modern sanitaires - toilet seats and paper! Twenty minutes to ferry on straight urban road with relatively few speed bumps.
10 minute walk to nearest beach, but nicer ones further away. Didn't use swimming pool but looked popular.
Bread (no need to order) and fruit and veg on site. Laundry on site.
WiFi signal was strong, and available across whole site for 1 Euro per day. Large pitches with EHU and water.
Be respectful that this is France, French is their language. Don't expect them to speak English but try to speak French however badly. Be polite, smile!
There are many museums commemorating the battle of Normandy. The battle was greater than just the beach landings.
The museum in Bayeux tells a broader picture. Remember the Bayeux tapestry is now (or will be soon) in the British Museum.
Disliked - slightly tight site roads with large outfits. Choose most suitable route.

This is a lovely little campsite situated 20 minutes drive from the Caen ferry and an ideal base for visiting several of the D-Day landing beaches. It is within easy walking distance of the town and seafront, and there is a supermarket within 5 minutes drive.
The pitches are large and flat, and the toilet blocks are modern and cleaned twice a day. The owners are very welcoming. Bread etc. Can be ordered for purchase every morning.
Two notes of caution. I) The site is in two parts. If arriving with a caravan, park on the road before the first entrance until your pitch has been allocated, otherwise you could face a difficult reverse manoeuvre from the reception area.
Ii) The site only accepts cash for payment.

Entrance was a bit confusing to both us and a french van in front of us, requiring reversing down a narrow road and in through a gate which said no way in!
Madame was very pleasant but had little English to explain what she wanted.
Our pitch was grassy, under trees, but fairly flat. Sh/wc ok.
20 min walk to village and beach. Also bus stop to Caen (6. 60 euros return for 2 of us).
We bought eggs, tomatoes and cucumber; wifi was 1 euro per day.
We would return as handy stop near ferry.

We spent a couple of nights in this lovely quiet site at the end of a trip through France.
Lovely warm reception from the owner when we arrived and throughout our stay.
Spotless campsite with 25 generous placements.
The site is close to the town and close to the beach. About 25 minutes' drive to the British Normandy Memorial. Very pleasant coastal walk nearby. 10 minutes' walk from the beach.
The site is ideally placed to catch the ferry to Portsmouth. We'll plan to use it again. Great little site.

Lovely little site. Spotlessly clean. The owners take a real pride in the place.
About a 10 minute drive to the ferry.
Road was quiet at 7am but can be busy later on.
Perfect for an overnighter.

What a lovely site, you are greeted by the owner who shows you to your pitch(which are huge) all are grass, luckily getting a sea view one!
The site was clean and tidy, as were the showers and toilets(cleaned twice a day) we and one other unit were English the rest were French and Dutch.
There was a small play area for the children on site but most seemed to make their own entertainment. The owners spoke very little English but we extremely helpful and friendly.
The site is only 15 mins walk to the town or beach and nice and flat.
Also was only 25 mins drive to the ferry with no time restrictions on the gates. Bread and pastries can be ordered the day before.
Will we return definitely yes

This is the second time we have used this campsite. It is an ideal first and last campsite for catching the ferry. It is also in the perfect place to see all the beaches that were used during the D Day Landings.
The campsite is very clean and tidy with individual pitches. The facilities are spotless, and regularly cleaned.
The owners are very welcoming and helpful.
We would definitely have no hesitation in recommending this camsite.
There is also a covered pool which again is very clean, however we didn't use it.
