Great stopover site in Cashel, South Tipperary, just off the M8 motorway. This is a compact site with only approx 6 hard stands and a few tent pitches as well.
Site is also a B&B but they don't do breakfast for campers unfortunately. The 2 pitches on the right immediately through the gate are tight to get back out of when towing.
The ruins of Hoare abbey are literally in the next field and there is a great view of the Rock of Cashel.
Toilets are not modern but clean. Cash only accepted though that might have changed by now. Very helpful owner.
10 mins walk along pavements to Cashel town for a wide choice of cafes, restaurants (if you're a foodie Chez Hans is highly rated) and pubs, multiple supermarkets and of course the Rock. There is also tennis and pitch & putt at Larkspur in town.
Slightly further afield are Cahir castle, the Swiss Cottage, Mitchelstown Caves and numerous other abbeys and priories.
Recommended especially as a stopover but no reason not to stay longer either. via mobile
