 We stayed at Camping Mondsee for 13 nights in May, having pre-booked a fully serviced pitch. The pitches are not huge, but that seems to be the norm at this site.
We would recommend booking as it was very busy whilst we were there. We were particularly drawn to this campsite as it had a restaurant plus a dog walk as we were taking our 2 cocker spaniels with us.
Our satnav took us to the site through a narrow downhill housing estate off from a roundabout; having checked the route out for our onward journey, we decided to travel through a small industrial estate as our previous route would mean possibly encountering a bus and we were towing a 7. 5 metre caravan. We were pleased we found this route as our entrance route would have meant towing uphill and possibly meeting a bus on a blind corner.
The campsite reception staff speak excellent English and the showers and toilets are spotlessly clean. We also ate several times in the restaurant which was very dog friendly. The portions were huge and you would certainly not go hungry.
The staff were also very helpful and always asked if we needed water for the dogs.
There is a small swimming pool which we did not use, but it looked very clean. The site also has plenty of washing machines and even a change machine, plus an excellent washing up area.
The views from the site are beautiful and thought has been given to the peace and quiet of visitors since the play area has been positioned away from all the pitches. A bonus for us was a fenced enclosure where we could let our dogs off lead. There are plenty of free poo bags positioned around the site.
One final note - electricity is charged separately so there is always a balance to pay on departure.
We visited Salzburg twice and used park and ride plus we took several boat trips which were lovely and relaxing plus the lakes are crystal clear.
A favourite village for us was St Wolfgang on the Wolfgangsee and we also went to Halstatt, but you need to get there early as it is very popular with tourist buses and there is limited parking.
