A lovely flat field with grass pitches. There was some form of mesh within the grass so helped with driving.
A good friendly greeting from the owner who gave us some tips about buses into Hull. Stop 5 minutes walk from site.
The Chinese restaurant opposite looked busy but we didn't try it.
We paid £25 / night inc EHU which is the top end, however Hull doesn't have many campsites.
Would recommend if you have things to do in Hull and we would stay again.

FANTASTIC NEW CL AT HALF ACRE, DUNSWELL, NEAR BEVERLEY
Having spotted this new CAMC Adults Only CL in a recent edition of the CAMC magazine - and with a lack of CL choices in the Beverley area - we booked several nights on this site and were not disappointed, the CL having only been open since 1st September 2024 !
An exceptionally warm welcome awaited us upon arrival by co-proprietor Lisa Thundercliffe and first impressions were that the owners Mark and Lisa had invested very considerably into this project both in time and finance for the benefit of us CAMC Members who now need to support them.
The CL is characterised by its rural setting and sense of peace, despite at times a busy A1174 road to Beverley that adjoins the CL to which access is very good - even with a twin axle caravan – and bush etc plantings minimise traffic noise.
The CL is located conveniently within five minutes of the main A1079 that connects from the Humber Bridge to give easy access to Beverley which offers a year-round programme of events and entertainment whatever the time of the year.
We pitched our caravan overlooking the fields that contain the owners’ two miniature horses and beyond them, some sheep in the adjoining field – some evenings the sunsets were stunning !
The CL is grassed, level and each pitch has its own EHU and boundaries marked by young bushes - other facilities are as described on the website.
We found the CL to be absolutely ideal for overnight stops re ferry crossings from Hull and to visit Beverley which is a stunning market town that is steeped in history, with its quaint shopping streets, towering gothic Beverley Minster and the nearby 12th century Grade 1 listed St Mary’s Church – both well worth a visit and offering regular lunchtime concerts, events, wedding fairs etc. Each year in May there is the Beverley and East Riding Early Music Festival: in June there is the Beverley Folk Festival: and in July the Beverley Armed Forces Day plus many other events.
Beverley also has to offer a packed cultural calendar for outdoor food festivals and performances at the East Riding Theatre as well as great shopping at the many independently owned shops, with Flemingate in Beverley offering fashion, food and cinema etc opportunities.
During our visit, we were able to enjoy wandering across Beverley Westwood which is home to a popular golf club and its resident grazing cows…and a perfect place for a horse ride from local stables, dog walk, picnic or to fly a kite !
And of course, the CL is ideally located as a base to enjoy a day at Beverley Races – another forward plan of ours !
Just outside the entrance to the CL is a bus stop that offers services to Beverley with a connection to nearby Cottingham.
With so much to do in the Beverley area, we have already booked another visit to this truly lovely CL which we highly recommend…. And with Mark operating a butchery business, we will again be ordering that amazingly valued £10 breakfast pack that proved to be so absolutely delicious and filling as a special treat !
One is almost tempted to move to live in Beverley - voted by The Sunday Times as being one of the top places to live – and a gem to explore with the family from fun days to culture-filled week-ends !
We wish Mark and Lisa every success with their new CL.
