It's a quiet, open campsite with adequate facilities. Plenty of hot water in the showers. I paid £10 per night for non electric tent pitch.

The owners and staff are friendly and very approachable.

The Tiffin Café which is on site serves the most amazing cooked breakfast, coffee is very nice too and there is a large selection of cakes to choose from. Not sure if they do takeaway breakfast as I didn't ask but they do takeaway coffee and cake.

Despite strong winds the fishing was excellent with 5 lakes to choose from. £8 per day for over 65s.

I fished the Match lake one day and caught some nice Tench to 2lb+, skimmers and LOADS of healthy Roach to about 1/2lb. The next day I fished Rushcombe Lake and caught three stunning mirror Carp to 5lb which were strong and beautifully marked. I lost a lot more than I caught because my hook lengths kept breaking. My fault for using line which was a couple of years old. Will I never learn!

I would definitely consider going back as it's only an hour from home via the M4/M5.

The only downside for me (I'm a light sleeper) was the noise from the M5 (about 350M away), which winds up from 4am, and the noise of the planes taking off from Cardiff airport from 6am.

Clevedon is only 4 miles from the site. The older part is very Victorian but stunning.

If you like beer, I went to the Fallen Tree in Clevedon. It had a great atmosphere, staff were friendly and the beer was good.
