The best we stayed at during our holiday this year. The location is quiet and only a two minute walk from the lake although not actually on it. The facilities are brand new and very upmarket in my humble opinion as a cycle tourist arriving in very wet weather with two bedraggled and slightly demoralised daughters.
This is a working farm but it doesn’t interfere with the campsite in any way apart from a bit of lowing of the cattle. It seems to be stressing out the owners a bit, who may want to take on some more help next year.
You get a pass card to enter the sanitary facilities but the kitchen, wash room and bike store are accessible without the card. The grass was very good for tent pegs and no stones to be found anywhere.
The site is on the edge of a small town which has most facilities for campers, including a bike hire shop open on Sundays (high summer) with inner tubes and other consumables available to buy!
The facilities: toilets, showers, baby changing area, handicapped facilities, bike storage, small kitchen with fridge, table, two ring cooker and seating, washing room with two Miele dryers and two Miele washing machines for 4 euros each.
A stainless steel sink and two clothes horses for drying. The showers are very spacious with fancy Geberit linear drains and hot water is included in the price.
It’s all very clean and it really cheered us up to find the place. We spent all evening in the dry, warm kitchen. Fantastic place and I hope it’s successful.
