They are open until 7 at least in high season and still had a place for us for one night. Mostly permanent bungalows but a few others like us. It was only 21 euros for one car, two tents and two people. It’s an old-fashioned French campsite which is a little bit run down (e. G. Hole in the floor toilets).
The facilities are not particularly clean either although I suppose we went at peak season. The husband and wife owners were very friendly.
The pitches seem to be quite stony – ours certainly was although we did manage to get the tent pegs in by pouring water around them. There’s quite a bit of road noise during the day and evening although it was OK by night.
You need to go up a very steep hill to get there, so cyclists beware. There’s a swimming pool with free access, which was clean and pleasant and open until quite late (possibly all night!).
You get views of the mountains from many of the pitches and we had a water tap for our own pitch. Hot water was free although the showers didn’t have cold water, only hot.
That’s normally not a problem but it was 40 degrees in the shade when we went and would have been appreciated. There wasn’t a rubber squeegee thing to clean out the showers after use. The few non hole-in the ground toilets didn’t have seats.
There is a small outside bar with tables. Overall the facilities were too tired and dirty for us after a week in sparkling clean Germany and we would avoid it if possible.
