The New Green End Farm Campsite is a little gem among the home counties.
Located within walking distance of Whipsnade zoo, local shop and a great pub (with campsite discount on food) it has lots of great things going for it.
Basic facilities include toilets, showers, washing up sink, phone charging points, vending machine and freezer for chilling ice blocks.
Raised camp firepits are allowed, you can purchase wood from the campsite and they also rent out firepits, Raised BBQ's are allowed too and its isolated rural location right near the Dunstable Downs give a fantastic dark sky for stargazers and plane spotters alike but as its occasionally on the flight path for aircraft flying in and out of Luton Airport depending which way the wind is blowing you may encounter low flying aircraft noise.
The owner Ian, is very friendly, helpful and gave us loads of information about the local area and couldn't be more welcoming, his little Jack Russell dog, Flipflop, was well behaved and an amazing ambassador for the site.
We stayed one night as we wanted to visit Whipsnade Zoo nearby and hopefully we will be going back next season. The campsite is well kept, clean, and set in a perfect space well away from the main road and children can play safely and happily within the grounds, there are pre-erected, furnished Bell Tents for hire on site.
I particularly enjoyed the adjacent woodland walks, the sounds of owls and sighting the Red Kites and smaller birds flying in the area along with muntjac deer, I was advised there are Alpacas nearby.
Altogether its a great campsite with lots of potential and serving the camping community with good services in an area where there a few on the map.
I recommend this campsite.
