We found this site in the CAMC Touring Europe directory. It is right on the edge of town, on the edge of a large nationaL park.
This is a pleasant site by a river, almost an island in parts as the stream divides.
Next door to various municipal attractions. When we were there it was very hot and we were told to just find a place to pitch - most people were either under the trees, or alongside the river - pitches were very fluid!
On this occasion one of the very helpful and friendly guardiens was from Manchester, so not much French required. There were some people with untethered dogs, but they didn't pose a problem.
Clean, airy sanitary facilities, male & female sections. No seats or paper. From where we were pitched it was a bit of a walk to the open block (there are 2, but it was early in the season).
We were the only Brits on the site. Town is up a steep hill from the site, but I think that is only part of it, as there seemed to be a long string of buildings in the valley bottom.
Very pleasant site and particularly good for those wishing to explore the park/forest. It's also within easy reach of Poitiers.
We paid approx 16 euros a night, with no charge for the dog. Washing machine was 4 euros, which included a detergent tablet.
