Great location - close to the town and shops with nice walks around

Extremely clean facilities

Generous pitches that are staggered so there’s always plenty of room between units

Late exit time in bank holidays is the best idea ever and made a big difference to our stay

Separate adult only area so those with young children didn’t need to worry too much and those without children enjoy peace and quiet

Greeting on arrival was really friendly and helpful

Not so good:

Hot water is a bit hit and miss

Entrance is through an industrial area so bit of a shock at first (although once on site you’d never know - it’s very tranquil and feels like you’re in the country)

We went to ask about walks - the floor in reception had just been mopped so the assistant not only didn’t want us to go in, but suggested we just go and find our own way to a walk. They actually sell copies of walks, but they weren’t interested on that day!

A really nice site, ideally placed for Ross on Wye ( 5 min walk into the town).

You approach the site from the Morrisons roundabout and go through a scruffy coach park, but once you arrive at the site it is very pretty. There is a small river with ducks, swans and geese and a little playarea.

The facilities are well kept and very clean. If you have younger children, be aware, that the site does not allow children to ride bikes and scooters ( our daughter is older so it didn't affect us).

The pitches are marked out and looked quite small but the new oweners only booked out every other pitch because of this and it felt very spacious. The only other odd rule was no windbreaks, luckily Easter was gorgeous and we didn't need one but in other UK weather a windbreak would be useful.

All in all a nice site.

This was our second visit here, but the first under the new ownership. Facilities are very good and it is now much better value.

As has been well documented the approach is through a sort of graveyard for old buses and trailers, which is unfortunate, but the site is well placed for the town. There is no shop, but Morrisons is beside the site. Satnav users are advised to target on Morrisons, Station Street, Ross on Wye (site instructions asks you to ignore using Post code).

We like Ross with its numerous individual shops, pubs and coffee shops.

Great site, level, fabulous toilet blocks, two fishing lakes, children's playground at one end and adult only section at the other. 5 minutes walk to Morrisons and a further 5 minutes to town centre. Recent change of ownership with lower prices. Monday to Friday deal of £60 low season and £69 high season is best value around for a quality site like this.

The approach road as mentioned previously could be off-putting but don't let that put you off.

A Clean tidy functional site located close to the centre of Ross on Wye. There was a beer festival on by the river when we visited which was an added bonus.

This site has everything you need in terms of on and off site facilities. But the access is a little grim in terms of an industrial yard and there is traffic noise. We really liked the fact that thought was given as to where to locate you ie. Families and large groups were in one area and single units in another.

On balance not the prettiest place around but a great spot from which to visit Ross on Wye!

A great site. Close to Ross. Friendly staff. Very well laid out and landscaped grounds. Immaculate toilet block. Pitch right next to water and electric. Town is nice and worth a visit. Peaceful and relaxing place. Go there!

Good well ordered site. Very convenient for town BUT take a very good torch if you are walking back at night. It's pitch dark - no lighting through the access route which runs through a coach yard. Verging on the dangerous.

Otherwise the site is a bit bleak but functional. There is free wifi. Good facilities including a bath. Pitches are large. Not cheap at £30 pn in September but so convenient for Morrisons and town. You pay your money. Etc.

A wonderful holiday.

We have been to this site for many years. It is a great location with views, fishing lakes, Morrisons less than 5 mins away and town centre and River Wye approximately 10 mins, and the Forest of Dean close by.

The owners and wardens are very friendly and always willing to help. The site is well kept and the facilities are very clean and tidy.

Regarding some of the other reviews we have read it is only common sense for dogs to be kept on leads and children should not cycle on site or run wild. There is a suitable play area in the vicinity. We appreciate these rules. Anybody who complains about these sorts of rules should maybe go somewhere else where they can behave in an anti-social way. It would be a good idea to have speed ramps to slow vehicles down on entering the camp site.

As others have said, the access road is through a coach maintenance area, a short walk from the town and shops. Pitches are a good size and facilities excellent. Site is strangely characterless and could have been laid out with a bit more imagination. Expensive, which may be why it was almost empty in July !

As others have said don't be put off by the approach to this site, which is through an industrial site.

Once inside its a little gem.

Owners really friendly and was shown to pitch and where all facilities were.

Pitches are a good size, plenty of room for van car and awning, water tap between two pitches which is handy.

Toilets and showers were always clean and water was piping hot, little play area for kids on site and plenty of grassed are.

A nice leisurely 15 minute walk and your in Ross town centre and there is a morrisons store between site and Ross.

Will def be going back to this cracking site.
