 This is a modern site, set in a rural location but within easy travelling distance of York, Scarborough and Whitby.
All pitches appear to be hardstanding, level and well-maintained with good drainage.
Facilities are first class. The sanitary blocks are clean and modern and as good as any I have seen. The owners have clearly thought about the needs of families with family rooms and even baths for younger children.
Hook up points are plentiful with electric and water on each one.
This site appears to be popular with locals with a large number of seasonal pitches but unlike some sites they are all well maintained and cared for. There is a children's play area on site and an excellent cafe which does breakfasts (highly recommended) and occasional evening meals.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. There are no shops within walking distance but there is a small shop on site for essentials, and there are supermarkets and shops in Pickering (about 15 minutes drive). Also lots of lovely local pubs around.
It is difficult to find any fault with this site for touring caravans, although motorhomes may find the lack of local facilities an issue. As a base for touring the area or cycling it would be hard to beat.

Visited this site with a friend. Stayed 6 nights but wished it had been longer.
This is an excellent site, great, friendly staff and spotlessly clean everywhere.
Good, level pitches.
Friday night pizzas well worth ordering.
Will definitely return!

Great site, large pitches,
Staff spot on
Also nice cafe on site
Showers are hot and very clean
Can't find anything negative, maybe it would have been if was 16amp but got use to the 10amp

A fantastic site. The facilities are brand new and the site is immaculate.
All pitches are hard standing which is brilliant. Well priced too with electric.
The unisex facility is perfect to get the whole family sorted in a oner with toilet, sink and bath or shower set up.
The play park is a great facility for the youngsters.
The café is perfect for something to eat. We went for pizza & chips with a drink. Delicious and very well priced too. The shop very well stocked with those items one forgets to pack.
A lovely site, very well managed & maintained with very helpful and friendly staff.
The views are great too. We visited Pickering and Scarborough.

The site was clean and tidy as were the toilet facilities however depending on your pitch could be near lots of children running around.
Ideal for families with young children the cafe had limited openings time which was not helpful and the shop is quite expensive.
Plot 59 is certainly not what you would call a level pitch.
The lack of full service pitches is a negative particularly for longer stays

Philpin Farm Campsite - Yorkshire Dales
Beautiful tent only site set on a family run hill farm in the Yorkshire Dales, nestled between Ingleborough and Whernside. The Three Peaks footpath runs right through the farm adjacent to the campsite with lots of walks direct from the site from easy strolls to climbing the Three Peaks, and five minutes to the pub!
Tent pitches only, no electric hookups. Toilet and shower block and washing up facilities. Sit, eat and socialise in the old barn, with free wifi, charging lockers, freezer. At weekends the Philpin Snack bar is open for cooked breakfasts, hot and cold snacks and drinks, ice creams, chocolates etc, on other days there are vending machines in the barn. Find out more here

One of the best sites that I’ve been to.
Friendly staff.
Excellent modern and clean toilets & showers.
Plus other facilities too.
Lovely cafe, and a well stocked shop.
Nicely landscaped site and well organised. Good value for money.

Absolutely spotless site. Cant praise it enough for its cleanliness. Facilities are modern and very clean. Well done VOP.
Site shop with basics, play area, football pitch, whole field to walk your dog. Well planned out site with all the facilities in the center.
1 little niggle for us was unfortunately we were very close to the play area which seemed to have lots of screaming children so if you have older children like myself, request a pitch away from the play area but it's still a 10 out of 10 for the site & location.
Massive Bangers & Cash fans which is filmed in the next village Thornton Le Dale so double bonus 😍
Pickering is a lovely town with shops for all your needs and suggest to take the steam train to Whitby.
Second time we have visited now and will be returning in the future.

Excellent Campsite with easy access roads to site,
Good location for Pickering/ Whitby/ Scarborough,
Very friendly welcome on arrival and accommodated request for pitch near to facilities which are excellent and ideal for disabled.

Where to start with this fab camp site, very easy to find and good access, on arrival check in was very quick and staff excellent,
Pitch was big and clean with electric and water point, plenty of waste bins through out site, big field to sit on.
Shower block wants for nothing and is spotless, there is a coffee shop and a shop to but bits and bobs, child play area which our grandson loved, the tractor more so.
Very handy for scarborough and thornton le dale,
Overall 10 out of 10 for us and only because I cant score higher and hope to return soon

The site was wonderful, very clean and the food was great we had breakfast made for us and it was excellent
The shower blocks are the best we have used, I'm disabled and it was great for me, the only negative was the shower blocks were so cold, it would have been just perfect if it had heating on, heating may have been on but just not warm enough

We called in late afternoon after another booked site fell through. Full up except on the camping field where they do have a few ehu so we took a pitch there.
Very big and busy site but very well kept. Ladies facilities are old but very clean at all times. There is even a bath in one if the cubicles. Cafe closed due to Covid but offering takeaways, we had a great pizza from there.
Camping field very flat and even but lots of bare areas which in the damp were a bit muddy. Even though lots of family groups in tents all quiet by mid evening.
For such a big site really well kept, very popular, just a few minutes drive from Thornton-le-Dale and 12 mike's from Scarborough so perfectly placed to be explore both inland and the coast.

A lovely warm welcome, directed to our pitch. The site is stunning, well maintained flowers and grassed areas. The pitch was a very generous size.
The whole campsite is very spacious, lots of room in between pitches.
The unisex facilities were prestine. The individual ladies and gents bathrooms were undergoing improvements during our stay, however, if they are the same standard or better than the unisex wet rooms they are going to be a wonderful addition for the campers.
There is a children's park, whilst we didn't have children with us, there was lots of different things within the park to keep them entertained.
The on site cafe was extremely popular, ur dog loved the dog walk, once on the field, she could be let off her lead.
Good access to varied places to visit, Pickering village (beautiful), Scarborough, Whitby, Goathland (Heartbeat), Eden camp, Dalby Forrest.
I would strongly recommend you to visit this beautiful site.

Lovely well kept site with first class facilities including a brand new Gents shower and toilet facility, Ladies shower and toilet facility and separate unisex rooms containing a shower, toilet and wash hand basin.
There is also a shop and cafe.
Great location, 20 min walk to nearest pub and only 30 min from Scarborough. Thornton le Dale and Pickering are a short drive.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
