I only stayed here for one night. After being stuck in traffic for hours coming up from Kent the rigours of the journey were quickly forgotten. I chose this particular site as it was adult only and seemed to be good value for money. The swimming pool was a lovely addition, not that I got to use it, due to aforementioned traffic. Whilst the facilities were basic the owners place a lot of trust in their clients allowing them to wash up in what is virtually a shop come dish washing area. With only 12 pitches the available facilities reflect that. This site is in a lovely location. I didn't get to speak with many people but everyone on site appeared friendly and relaxed. I would have returned to this site again on my journey home from travelling further north but it was fully booked, not hard on such a small site. Whilst highly rated, as they were full I was forced to book another site, which I found to be even more exciting although somewhat spartan. That twist of fate means that I will be unlikely to return here happy in the knowledge however that this site should remain over subscribed for years to come, a reflection on the warmth of the current owners. Please note that the last part of the drive to this site is effectively a one lane road so please ensure you adhere closely to the arrival and departure times unless you are extremely good at reversing long distances. Other than that the journey is pretty relaxed unlike other sites I have reviewed. If travelling from Kent leave early and spend time at Rutland Water to avoid what has become inevitable delays caused by poor highway management, badly timed road works and drivers who think 40 is the new 70 when travelling in the passing lane. A two and a half hour drive should not take four hours.

This is a super little site, one of the best we have stayed on. The site is immaculately kept with an emphasis on being 'green'. All pitches have electric and water nearby. There is a small shop with an honesty box. As the weather was so hot the swimming pool was an added bonus, unusual for such a small site. Being so small it was very peaceful and the owners are very friendly, helpful with information about the area. The windmill in the village is worth a visit and the miller lets you have a look round. There is flour for sale. The high spot of our stay was the visit to Egleton and Lyndon nature reserves on Rutland Water to see the Osprey project. We had pre booked the evening Osprey cruise which was excellent.

A lovely friendly site although some of the pitches were quite small. Jo and Chris were always available, if need be, and the wi-fi was second to none. A short walk down a quiet road led to the village and a dog friendly pub.

The only downside from our point of view, with two labradors, was the lack of a varied off-lead walk nearby.

We spent a lovely week at this site. It was so nice, well kept grounds very clean showers and toilets. We were made very welcome at this site the wardens couldn't do enough for us.

It was very handy for the surrounding areas.

Not much to add that has not been said before. Helpful, friendly people, thanks for the help hitching the van. Facilities are spotless, a lot of information can be found in the honesty shop.

We spent a couple of days in the pool; we had a lot of fun.

I will be trying to get back there in a couple of months. So peaceful!

Just returned from Greendale Farm after an excellent week. Have travelled most of this country over the years and have only just found this adult only site, almost on my doorstep, that could easily now be top of my quick break 'Go To List. '

Just as its name implies, this site possesses a peaceful tranquillity which is complimented by the beautiful surrounding farmland and nature scape. The mid afternoon silence was broken only by the twittering of the birds of many varieties, the gentle bleat of a sheep with her lambs or the occasional sound of a farmer and his tractor passing by or working in the distance.

The site is owned by a very likeable, friendly (but not intrusive) couple Jo and Chris, who do put in extra effort to ensure that you are trouble free and enjoying your time with them. They even supply you with one of their well written and compiled information packs with absolutely everything you need to know to be sure to maximise your stay.

The site has 12 well spaced, quality hard standing pitches with ample well kept grass, flowers and shrubbery between them to ensure you feel comfortable and in a green, rural environment. There is even a small herb garden, just for you to pick your own for your barbecue or lunch. Around the pitches, Jo and Chris have also placed a number of regularly stocked, feeding stations for the many varied birds that enjoy living here. They will keep you amused for hours with their antics; even a family of Greater Spotted Woodpeckers visited our feeder every day.

A small office, honesty shop for a few basics and area information leaflets, pot washing, toilet and shower area are alongside a lovely, small, adult only pool. Don't expect too much here but nonetheless, it is heated, well kept, open air, safe and gorgeous for a little gentle excitement during the nice weather. We had an hour or so swimming a few strokes and sunbathing on a couple of comfy sunbeds at the poolside.

The centre of the local village of Whissendine is an easy 20min stroll away and has shop for newspapers and groceries etc. And there is a really nice pub (The White Lion) with a garden and good food. Their Sunday carvery lunch (booking recommended) is particularly popular and good quality.

I will definitely be back and I would be amazed if anyone could find anything about this lovely site that was not to the Visit England 5 star quality, that they have proudly earned.
