Been to this site many times. Went this weekend and what an amazing weekend it was. The sun was shining all weekend.

This campsite is definitely the best campsite in the lakes and Arthur always makes you feel really welcome.

I would recommend this site to anyone. Really love the fact that you can have campfires and the local pub about a 5 minute walk away is very nice and serves very nice food.

The scenery around the campsite is amazing. Toilets and showers are nice and clean and never too busy.

Can't wait to go back, probably in August sometime. Wouldn't go anywhere else in the lake district.

We went with friends on our first camping holiday. We had a great time despite the rain in the morning, there are some lovely walks nearby and I even found a grass snake. The woods are filled with native trees and there is a great waterfall walk just out the campsite gate and walk along the left and you will see a gap in the wall. Loads of wood sculptures to see if you look as well.
Anyway back to the campsite, it is set in a large field short walk to the toilet block which is clean and always had loo roll. There are loads of spaces and if you are in a small tent there are loads of lovely little hidey spaces to pitch a tent on. As previously stated there is a lovely pub down the road which does excellent food and they are really nice owners, they fitted us in despite us not having booked and they were full.
