Excellent site. Friendly reception on arrival and quick check in.

Site well laid out and very tidy. Toilets look new and were spotless. Lots of room in the shower cubicles and plenty of hot water at a high pressure.

Minutes to walk into the town. Second visit to site and will definitely come again.

This is one of our favourite sites! Great location within the lovely town of Ballater with everything you need.

Great pitches and you can chose your pitch location at the time of booking online, which is a great touch! Great friendly staff too! Well worth a visit!

What a brilliant site.

Excellent location for accessing town with scope to walk, cycle etc as well as going further afield to Balmoral, Braemar and Banchory. Site facilities immaculate and spacious and of a very high standard. Site well maintained. A Phoenix rising from the ashes after the horrendous floods.

Understandably it's booked up most weekends through the season so will be making a firm reservation for next Spring. Site likely to be extended next year with second toilet block which no doubt will be as good as the existing one. Good size pitches, all hard standing and tent areas. Staff very pleasant and informative.

This community venture deserves to do well. No longer any statics due to history and Insurance but serviced units all neatly kept together so feels like a proper touring park. Only very minor criticism might be the shower water pressure which is just about adequate but otherwise first rate cubicles. No privacy sink cubicle but the space put to better use by plentiful showers.

Hook ups close to units and plentiful water points with a Motorhome service area. A great place on all fronts.

Just spent another short break at this excellent site. Its in good hands being ran by the local community.

Good size hardstanding pitches with hookup and all other spotless services within easy reach.

Its a good level site and 5 minutes walking to the town.

One other thing I like about this site is that you can pick your pitch when booking. You can see the site plan with pitch numbers, it also tells you which pitches are still available to book.

Really nice little site right on the edge of the village by the river Dee. Facilities are plentiful and clean.

Also has a very popular children's play park just by the toilet block.

Ballater itself has pubs, takeaways, a restaurant and a supermarket.

A great base to explore Deeside and Balmoral Castle

Very flat site, close to the riverside and all amenities in Ballater very convenient for visiting the Cairngorms.

Toilet and shower block is large, clean and and modern. Small laundry room with freezer.

Possibly influenced by wonderful weather but warm welcome, spacious pitches, immaculate facilities and proximity to town can only mean full marks. Will definitely be back.

Pleasant bike routes around area gave us opportunity to work up appetite and enjoy lovely evening bbq

This is excellent in every way. Level. Attractive site. Tents all close to facilities. Great wifi. Very clean.

Lovely small town. Beautiful area. We stayed 5 days and went on a variety of walks, visited Bamoral and hired bikes.

Very hard to find anything to fault about this site! From booking, checking in, the facilities, the location. Everything is friendly, spotless, welcoming and peaceful.

Despite staying over a warm, sunny and busy weekend, the site is careful not to overbook so there was still plenty of room for everyone. Initially - being used to bigger, more sprawling sites - we felt a little overlooked on the tent area.

However as the weekend went on we came to appreciate the friendliness and the convenience of having facilities, play park etc all close at hand. The town is only a short stroll away and very pleasant to walk around. The kids enjoyed the lovely sweet shop and also Shortyís ice cream shop. A well stocked co-op was also handy for supplies.

With lots of families on site it could have been chaotic but instead it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The presence of the warden to shoo children off the park after quiet time and generally keep an eye on everything was reassuring.

The facilities were lovely; plenty of toilets, washbasins and showers plus hairdryers provided and all kept immaculately clean. Showers had plenty of space for washing and drying and space to hang clothes plus a wee bench. Nice to be able to change in a dry area without juggling everything. An addition of a wee shelf in the shower for shower gel/shampoo is the only improvement I can think of for this fantastic site!

Sadly there was some flash flooding in the town during our stay. It was a scary moment for locals considering the devestation of a few years back but thankfully sandbags and flood doors were put up quickly and most businesses and homes seemed to escape with little or no damage. While some large puddles did develop on site these did not cause any problems for campers.

The one large wet spot on the tent field had been pointed out to us on checking in as to be avoided. This did provide great entertainment for the younger campers who used it as an impromptu swimming pool! The site drained quickly once the rain stopped and within hours you would not have known anything had happened!

Friends who camped with us had dogs with them and said the walk from the site was great.

My ten year old described the park as ďdecentĒ and it was a great spot for the kids to meet others and make some friends for the weekend. The warden also enlisted the kids in helping to keep the campsite tidy by asking them to pick up any wrappers they saw. A great approach to creating future responsible campers!

There is a laundry on site and also an option to pay for a safe charging box for electricals.

We were only there for two nights so didnít explore the local area (less than 1 1/2 hours from home for us) but there was plenty of information about places to visit nearby.

All in all this is a wonderful site. Iím not quite sure how the wardens manage to be so on top of everything! They either never sleep of have clones! Haha! While overly strict, rule bound sites arenít our usual preference, Ballater seems to hit just the right note by being so friendly and welcoming that rules donít need to be strictly enforced as everyone wants to do their bit to keep this little peaceful haven as lovely as it is.

We will certainly be back again in the future!

This site is right up there with some of the best we have ever stopped at.

Welcome at reception really friendly and helpful, full of information on what to do, where to go etc.

Our pitch was a good size, plenty of room between us and other pitches, gravel and grass both well kept and tidy. Facilities were immaculate, showers brilliant - plenty of hot water and good pressure.

The village is literally a few minutes from the site, enough shops to browse for an hour or so and a few good eateries and bars. We found people friendly and welcoming, in shops and cafes people wanted to stop and chat - added to our enjoyment of the village.

There is a good walk from the site around the edge of the golf course and back through town - about 3 km, fabulous views of the river and its easy going all the way around.

We ate out from the village chip shop! a bag of chips and haggis - very tasty sat on the square as the sun began to set.

At £26 per night for two with ehu (wifi and showers included) its not overly expensive for a good site in Scotland. For us the price covered the top facilities and service. Would stay again and highly recommend to others.
