Please note we have been advised that this site is no longer offers camping, motorhome or caravanning pitches, it has residential units only now. If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Arrived here and met up with a walking friend. Shown to our pitches by a friendly man who also told us about the amenities on site. A small site which was mostly holiday (static) caravans but still some nice level pitches for tents.

The site was clean, tidy, well kept and had a community feel about it. The toilets were clean and hygienic. However, given that a modern light bulb costs next to nothing to run, we found it a bit odd that we had to use torches in the toilets because the lights were turned off(or timed off) well before bed time. Whilst quirky and unusual, this was a little disconcerting. From a Health and Safety aspect, not very safe either.

It rained for the 2 days we were here but we still had a good time. Would go back if the 1970's approach to saving electricity was re-assessed.

What a great find. Stayed 4 nights over Easter and had the place all to ourselves for most of the time.

The touring field is bordered on 3 sides by park style homes but if you get a pitch across the back it looks out across open farmland and a thick leylandi hedge shields you from any wind. Lovely lush grass no hard standings. Very quiet saw no-one from the static homes all the time we were there.

Toilet block has 2 toilets 2 showers and a whb in the ladies, 1 toilet 2 showers and whb in gents. Very clean but not heated. Plenty of running hot water. Electric hook ups, water and waste disposal, washing up sinks on site.

Newspaper van comes round on Sunday morning. No shop or any other facilities on site but that was the reason we went there.

Not really a site to walk to anywhere from as Oare and Pewsey are a bit too far and there are no footpaths along the main road. There is a bus stop at the end of the lane on the main road.

Spar and Co-op in Pewsey 5 mins away by car and other interesting little shops. Marlborough about 15 mins by car has plenty of lovely shops.

At £12.50per night per unit it will definitely be our get away from it all site in the future. No facilities for children. Very friendly owner who gave us the pick of the field.

When turning in off the main road be prepared to turn straight into the site entrance on your right, we sailed past it thinking it was the entrance to the holiday homes only at first.

This is a quiet, peaceful site with a small number of touring pitches. The rest of the site is a 'park' home site, obviously residential. The site is level and the pitches spacious with electric hook-ups. There is a small field next door for ball games etc, although I wouldn't say this is a park suitable for families with children as there is very little for them to do. The people who run the site are friendly and welcoming.

We stayed for three nights and were intending to stay for four, but the weather was forecast to be very wet so we decided to leave a day early. The campsite owner warned us of the severe weather warning, a service much appreciated!

The shower blocks were kept scrupulously clean, but were rather old, not heated and the lights went out at midnight. There were two showers and two toilets in the ladies. The shower cubiles were quite small but the water was lovely, hot and free! There was one small handbasin but no other wash basins.

There was some road noise, and occasionally we could hear the sound of the trains, but the noise wasn't intrusive. One of the park homes had their TV very loud and the windows open, fortunately they went to bed early and by 10 o'clock the TV was turned off!

There are lots of walks in the area, Pewsey Wharf has a nice bar/bistro and the canal tow path is well worth exploring. Marlborough is a gem, super for window shopping and with the Swindon outlet mall only half an hour away you could spend a lot of money in a short space of time! For any spares needed whilst camping there is a huge 'Go Outdoors' next to the outlet mall in Swindon - they seemed to stock everything. There's a newsagent and Spar shop in Pewsey which between the stocked the day to day things.

If the toilet/shower block was a little more modern and heated this would be an absolute gem of a site for those of us who like no 'entertainment' to be provided. But we were slightly put off by the very old fashioned facilities. However at £11.50 a night we'd still go back for a weekend.

This is the second year we have stayed at the site.Pru and her family are very welcoming and do not rush you. The toilet facilities are excellent, which included separate showers for male and female and the wash area include a spin dryer should your wife like to feel at home.
The site is very well kept with an additional field for dog walking and just somewhere to sit and relax. The town of Pewsey is just a short distance from the site which is also in easy reach of Avesbury,Devizes with the Calne Hill lock flight(well worth a visit)and Lacock where a lot of the filming for the period B.B.C. programs are made.
The lovely town of Marleborough is only a few miles away should you feel the need for some retail therapy.

Great campsite although slightly out dated, which I would think is not for most people. Quiet and peaceful, Clean & tidy with friendly staff. If your more use to sites with entertainment etc. then this is not for you.
Fantastic area for walking, running & cycling Ranging from hilly country with a vast expanse of beautiful views to flat tow paths along the canal with some lovely boats and quaint villages (wotton rivers).

We have just spent 2 nights here.  If you used to go camping in the late 70's early 80's this site will take you right back to those times!  The owners were lovely, very friendly and relaxed, taking time to have a chat in the evening and not rushing us off our pitch on the day of departure.  The site is mainly a mobile home park, but has touring pitches.  We had no complaints at all about the facilities (although the showers were a bit on the hot side), the facilities were always clean and tidy.  Although the lights do go out at night so take a torch if you have to nip across to the toilets!

The site is very tidy - but I would not recommend it if you like a 'rustic' site, this site is beautifully kept - a real credit to the owners!

Whilst staying we visited Avebury - a lovely NT site with excellent visitor trails for the kids (at the time we went - I understand these change from time to time).  Also worth a walk up to is West Kennet Long Barrow - an ancient burial chamber.  A strangely peaceful place where people had placed wild flowers and lit candles - very moving.

The local Co-op is a mile or two down the road and is open til late which is handy.  Understand from folks staying with us that the 'French Horn' in Pewsey is the place to eat!

We would not hesitate to return to this site if we were in the area again.
