Arrived on Friday evening, booking was easy and we arrived after the office was closed but no problems with access and just logged our arrival the following morning.
We met some family here for a days canoeing on the canal, had a great time.
The toilets were closed due to covid and we were made aware of this at the time of booking. Great access for launching your own canoe, or you can hire one from the site. There are no electric hookups but we managed fine without.
The pitches were marked out with white lines and you could choose your own pitch. Not may there when we were and the site was generally quiet. We did not notice any traffic noise form the nearby road, and there is a local garage in walking distance with a M&S food store.
There is also an on site cafe, I cant comment on it as we didn't make use of it. But we will be back again in the future.
The only improvements there could be is some electricity for stays longer than a weekend.

Large open field no designated pitches. Only 2 caravans and 2 tents when we arrived. Lots of space to choose from. Excellent dog walks all around the campsite and miles of canal to walk along.
Friendly welcome from staff in visitor centre. Pack with map of site and codes for toilets and shower. It is a bit of a trek from the campsite field to the toilets and showers though.
Good on site cafe reasonably priced. There is some road noise in the background and some aircraft noise but didn’t bother us. What did bother us was a caravan that arrived late on Friday night and pitched next to us (although masses of space to choose from) they then fired up the loudest generator I’ve ever heard! Not the campsites fault however it does state quiet generators are permitted.
Another negative is that dog walkers seem to think the camping field is a rite of passage for them to walk through although there is a large forest and canal walk for them to use! Regardless of the negatives this is a definite return campsite for us.

Excellent value. This campsite is great for family casual cycling holidays; we cycled with our 8yr old & 5 yr old along the canal towpath most days.
There is lots to do on the canal from the Basingstoke Canal Centre at the campsite - I recommend hiring a pedalo and going on a trip on the canal boat Rosebud (very good value).
Also Frimley Lodge Park is in walking distance (in addition to the children's playground on site). We noticed some low level traffic, aeroplane, train and military noises but this did not disrupt our experience or sleeping.
The toilet/washing facilities and play area are a short distance away from the camping field, so we felt we needed to accompany our kids.
We would have stayed for longer if they weren't already fully booked for the bank holiday weekend.
We hope to return next year.

Again we used this as an overnight stop en-route to Wiltshire, arriving at 10pm, helps us get the M25 out of the way on a Thursday night, to ease Friday travelling with a caravan.
Handy to have the cafe for breakfast.
Only problem is that the showers are still far too hot, the shower in ladies toilet area was a dangerous temperature so my daughter said, the other shower is in a room that has 2 push type showers that stay on for seconds only, also far too hot. This is adequate for a one night stop but would be annoying for a longer stay.

Lovely basic site, clean, spacious & well kept.
Cafe on site, nice canal walks & close enough to walk to shops.
Pub across the road as well as a few restaurants & takeaways within walking/short car journey.
Great place to go for a short getaway or just a space to be.
Canal trips & pedalos too.
Downside, only 1 shower & toilet, per gender (could use disabled if needed) so queues can be expected.
Rules about noise & dogs running loose need to be inforced.

Just got back home after spending a long weekend here (Friday to Monday) on the camping field, it reminds me of an old fashioned camping site like we had when we were kids, ,
The field has no marked out pitches you just pitched where you wanted to, the whole of the field had just one water tap (that I could see)
There was just one single female shower/toilet and one male shower/toilet which was a hell of a track if you was at the end of the field like we were, as there was just one of each time it right or wait in line, the toilet chemical point was even further away, there are no electric pitches so but that was not a problem, ,
This site is basic but very nice and we will in the future return,
The reason I took two points away is because A) lack of toilet shower blocks and B) on Sunday evening two family's turned up (they was not together), one family had two dogs and the other family had one dog, none of these dogs was tied up which is one of the site rules is that all dogs must be kept secured at all times, even when the wardens did the morning walk around the camping field on the Monday morning (which they did every morning) they never told the campers to secure the dogs allowing them to still run around, it is pointless having campsite rules if they are not going to be enforced.

Spent 1 night here as an extended family.
Lovely site next to canal.
Downside, over flowing bins and generally messy areas, 1 toilet and shower and 1 disabled toilet and shower for site this big is not good, lots of queuing required!
There are rules about no music after certain time and no noise etc but nobody to enforce so we had to endure loud music past 11pm which was then only slightly reduced in volume until way past 1am when I fell asleep so don’t know when it finished. Lots of noise after Midnight too, kids ringing by bicycle bells etc
I wouldn’t visit again as it’s not managed, people know this and take full advantage.

Arrived on a Friday and stayed until the Sunday afternoon as part of the motorcaravanner club Surrey Section Rally. A Huge grassy field which had good drainage has plenty of room for our 22 vans plus masses of space for individuaL travellers.
Situated alongside the canal with ample pathways to walk or cycle. There were rowing boats, pedalos and canoes for hire. Even a Yurt was available! We paid a modest £5. 00 each for an hours canal barge ride. Plenty of bird-life to see!
There is a cafe which serves food from 9. 30 through to 3pm daily. (Adjacent is a small but excellent playground. ) Excellent choice and service and well priced too. The showers and toilets are spotless although not enough available if the camp was full!
There is a spacious hall for hire at reasonable charges with tea/coffee urn and washing up facilities. We enjoyed two evenings there and during the saturday a wonderful children's party was in full swing there. Everyone sounded very happy!
There are plenty of dog trails and organised walks and cycling as well. Rabbits and squirrels abound. Also this site is ideal for visiting the local military museums etc
Despite having some rain the ground stayed firm and we enjoyed our stay. The elsan point was well hidden. Security was good with keypads in use for campers access to the main gate and toilets and showers. The main gate officially shut at 5pm.
