This was our first time in Cornwall in our motorhome and when we got to Killiwerris Touring Park we couldn't of been happier.

Even though Steve and Josie had only taken over 8 weeks ago you can see the improvements they are implementing already.

Everything was spotless and they were always on hand to give you any information needed or any help they could.

I am sure this site will be very popular and we will definitely be back again.

Thank you Steve and Josie for being so welcoming and friendly and we will certainly be recommending you to friends and family.

Lovely site, new owners Steve and josie have done a great job,

Spotless showers and toilets extra cleaning in place,

The site is in a great location just off the A30 a mile down a narrow lane but no problem with our motorhome.

A little noise from passing trains but didn't notice after a day or so, pitch 18 nice and sunny and level fully serviced

We have just returned from a much shortened stay at Killiwerris Touring Park in Cornwall. The owner demonstrated a Master Class in how NOT to run a touring park.

Upon arrival in our caravan there was no one to meet us, no note on Reception, no reply to rings on the bell and 2 ‘phone calls went to answer machine. We found our pitch by searching and the owner turned up about an hour later with a Welcome Pack. When I offered to pay our balance he said to “do it anytime”.

We then checked out the Facilities Block and were advised by 4 current guests that hot water for the showers was a hit and miss option.

We quickly discovered cold showers and sometimes the odd hot one, loose taps, blocked sinks, toilet fluid running across the floor and very small sinks in the Ladies wet rooms. In the Gentlemen’s toilet there were 2 sinks but no hooks on which to even hang a towel or even a shelf. There was one very small sink in only one wet room (this would not hold water as the plunger plug was faulty and the water drained out) and a mirror. The light in this larger wet room was really dim so wet shaving was a challenge even if there was hot water.

After 4 days my wife and another lady approached the owner about the many facilities problems which are an important part of the package. To his credit there was hot water later and the sink in the Ladies was unblocked.

The road at the perimeter of the site is used as a noisy rat run in the mornings and evenings plus the rail track 100 metres away where trains sounded their horns every hour from early morning and into the late night time. These intrusive noises were carefully omitted from the site details.

I approached the owner after the weekend to talk about the problems with the facilities and to suggest a reduction in the due balance to compensate. His reaction was to ask me why I had not complained before. I pointed out that my wife and at least one other guest had done just that. His reply was to say that my wife had “been rude to me and shouted at me”. She does admit that she raised her voice but at no point was she rude. He then told me that he was willing to refund my £100 deposit and cancel the balance but we were to leave the site immediately. As I walked away after agreeing to leave, his pathetic parting shot was to shout “AND DON’T WALK ON THE GRASS”.

This is a small but beautiful site. The site was well-kept and all the facilities were clean and worked well.

The owners were friendly and welcoming and really flexible with our arrival time.

Visiting an adult only site is a bonus and as the site is open all year. We'll definitely return again. A great find.

Just returned from a week long stay at this small Adult Only park. On the whole a nice park but in need of some TLC.

Several pitches have nice wooden frame work round the water tap and electric box but the other pitches along the bottom row had the taps and waste drains tucked into the hedge which was in urgent need of being trimmed.

We had been on the park for five days before we saw Stephen and only saw Andrea when we arrived so not a lot of work being done to keep things tidy.

The lane running past the park is very busy and if you want to use public transport you have to take your life in your hands and walk down it for 3/4 mile to a main road called 'Dangerous Crossing '.

Once there bus service is excellent.

What a wonderful site this is.

Beautiful spacious level pitches (we booked a serviced pitch) and easy access to the site. A warm welcome from the chap who gave us loads of info on the surrounding area and various local attractions.

Not at all precious about his grass and we had to remind him that we still had to pay two days after getting there.

Nothing was too much trouble.

The facilities were in excellent order and kept as clean as you'd hope them to be.

Honesty box for milk, ice cream and other items available and he'll even pick up a morning paper for you if you want one.

We'd be more than happy to go back again.

One minor issue was the exit. You emerge onto the road part way round a blind bend, so be careful and keep your ears open.

This caravan site is in the tranquil parks brochure. It is a small site. The good points about the site are firstly that it is in an ideal location for visiting both the north and south coasts of Cornwall. As it is a small site it has a good community feel to it. While we were there everyone chatted to each other but were not in your face.

There was plenty of hot water. It is a very laid back site which we liked. There are ice-creams for sale where you just pop your money in an honesty box.

The negative points were that this tranquil park could not be described s tranquil. It is really like camping in someone's large front garden. We were pitched backing onto the road which was quite noisy. On the other side of the road was a sawmill where the cutting machinery and gate alarm could clearly be heard. At the rear of the site is a railway line where the trains have to whistle when they pass.

The showers could be cleaner as there is a lack of attention to detail such as dirty splashes on doors and just generally a bit grubby looking.

There is free wi-fi but not in the comfort of your caravan. You have to visit the tourist info shed to access it. I would recommend that you request a pitch away from the road.

Chose this site based on previous reviews. Maybe we were unlucky but we had intended to stay for a few nights but ended up staying only one. Narrow road of about a mile to get to site which on arrival does look somewhat forlorn and neglected. Waited about a half hour to see someone on arrival and then just chose a pitch - looked like only two other pitches in use. Eventually saw someone who said to pay whenever - he was obviously busy.

The toilet facilities were not very clean or inviting. In the end left the following morning but again nobody about to pay so left payment in an honesty box at 'reception' and phoned later.

We wouldn't have wanted to travel the lane to go sightseeing in a motorhome every day. Realise this is completely contrary to the majority of reviews about this site and maybe the site hadn't geared up for the season yet so may improve as season progresses. Not cheap for what you get either.

What can we not say about this Gem of a site. From start to finish it was brilliant.

After reading some of the comments regarding this site we where a little apprehensive these were things from not enough space to move your unit, the noise from the sawmill oh and the trains blowing there horns every 5 mins was UTTER gibberish.

We made our booking early to save disappointment as cornwall can get busy in August. The site is really easy to find and with no small narrow lanes to squeese down.

On arrival we were met and showed us what was what and where and then showed us to our pitch. Which was a nice sized fully serviced pitch and which was easy to manoeuvre into unless of course you have an articulated lorry which some campers must of had as they said it was a squeeze.

After we set up we went up for a shower WOW is all we can say, please look at the pictures that they have posted on there site. Well this is exactly what you get, they were spotless and not just after cleaning but they were immaculate when ever you went in them any time of day or night, there is a laundry room with 2 washers a dryer cost on average £5 (wash n dry) which wasn't bad.

The grounds are maintained and we must commend him as they to were kept very nice, the grass is nice n short and bushes will trimmed.

We had 3 bad days of rain towards the end of our stay and the pitch drained very well as we stayed on site. Which leads me on to noise, Yes there is a Working sawmill across the road and yes the lane is busy, but TBH you wouldn't know the mill is there, yes sometimes you could hear the saw but noting more than a distant sound and yes you would expect the lane to get a little noisy but again not excessive. The train line is about 300 meters away and they did blow their horns through out the day but again nothing that would deter us from visting this wonderful site again.

All in all this is an amazing place to stay

The only point I can find on the negative is the mobile phone reception is hit n miss if using it for internet.

This is a fabulous small site. Charming and helpful owners.

The facilities are excellent and kept beautifully clean and fresh.

The site was easy to find. Good, level hard standing pitches.

Not a lot of space to manoeuvre a large caravan but, done with care, not too difficult.

Site is beautifully situated for exploring Cornwall. It is a very quiet and pleasant site.

We will certainly return.
