 Our first time stayed at this site and definitely won't be our last (weather was good to us)
Fabulous sunset every night over the Bristol channel.
Very open site all pitches have sea views toilets and showers very clean.
Reception very helpful when needed, large gravel pitches and no rules on how you park your van, electric is 10amp but no problem.
Lots of walking options on the Southwest coast path or cycling in the lanes or the nearby cycle track in to Ilfracombe roll down but long uphill back, tarka trail 6miles away but plan your route if cycling to it we got lost.
Nice 30 min walk down hill to woolacombe bus was £3 back

Our first visit to this very open and lovely campsite. It's not easy to get to along the narrow lanes and Sat Nav is a must. We arrived on a very windy day (not unusual I suspect at his location)we had booked to stay in the CAMC members area, which is the highest point of the campsite and giving fabulous views out to sea.
We were given an information leaflet given on arrival and there is an information area next to reception.
The toilet block was spacious, warm and immaculate bordering on sterile!
Whilst this site is exceptionally clean and well kept with an extensive view, there is no shop nearby and the pizza cook's services were unavailable due to illness whilst we were there so stock up before you arrive.
Fantastic walks straight from the site through the fields on public rights of way up and down hills. Mortehoe approx 25 minutes walk, has a friendly pub providing excellent food. A great stop for refreshment if you're walking on to Woolacombe, which can be a steep trek in places.
There are buses from Woolacombe that will stop outside the campsite (and other locations) on request. Otherwise the return walk would be quite a challenging climb.

First time for us here and it really is a beautiful campsite - however it's VERY VERY exposed!
Warm and friendly welcome and detailed information leaflet given on arrival. Pitches are allocated. We booked to stay in the CAMC members area, which is the highest point of the campsite.
Large hardstanding pitch with sea views. Water, waste, etc. , all close by. Bins/recycling up near reception/car park. Top toilet block always immaculate (a few cubicles closed off because of the time of year?).
Lovely large showers and toilets. Shop no longer available on site so come prepared!
Fantastic walks (although VERY hilly) straight from the site. Mortehoe village approx 20-25 minutes through 2 fields and another campsite, further into Woolacombe.
Excellent pub in Mortehoe (Chichester Arms) and we used The Barn in Woolacombe (taken over by Hall & Woodhouse) and that was very good too - not cheap!
We caught the bus back from Ilfracombe on the Saturday - beware £4. 80 single adult fare - no more £2 fares.
Weather was stunning when we stayed, however the wind overnight was horrendous (not the sites fault of course) so much so we left a night early (after enjoying a full day).
Not sure we'd stay again unless no wind was guaranteed!

I absolutely love this campsite.
I returned after a 2 year break and it didn't disappoint.
Toilets and showers are very clean and comfortable.
The site is extremely well kept.
The views are gorgeous out across the sea.
It's peaceful and everyone is friendly.

Review of Damage Barton Campsite
Allowed, tents campers MH etc.
The check in was easy and lady was a delight full of information
We got allocated out pitch the EHU can be quite far so make sure you have a big 1
The facilities were great I enjoyed the washing up area as this was at the right height not on the floor like some, makes a difference to me as I'm tall and lets say on the fat side so I get back ache
The toilets were very very clean and so were the showers there is also antibac sprays outside everywhere and to be honest I use these as the amount of fellas not washing there hands amazes me
The dog walk is super long and nice
There is a walk down to morte-hoe about 1. 5 miles not hard and there is a bus back up we did go in the pub nice and friendly
The pitches were generally level and the views were great
Shop on site did not use as I got everything this time before we got there lesson learned
We did go to a restaurant about 5 mins away as we were meeting friends this was the "depot" ok but I wouldn't back
They do have food trucks that come to site

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Damage Barton Campsite, and I can confidently say it was the best camping experience I've ever had.
From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, everything about this campsite exceeded my expectations.

This is a great site in a good location, although it is a little exposed in bad weather.
The 2 toilet/shower blocks were spotless although depending on where your pitch is it can be quite a walk away.
There are water points dotted around the site if you don’t have a serviced pitch.
There’s a bus stop at the top of the driveway to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, the timetables are available from reception.
There are country paths you can walk along to Mortehoe the next village along from the site. There are a couple of pubs, a cafe, takeaway and a post office. The cream tea at the cafe is highly recommended.
If you want a relaxing place to stay this is the place.

Travelled as a mature couple but met up with friends. We asked if we could pitch up near to each other and our 5 vans were all in a line.
The ladies on reception were very nice. Check in was easy. The gate has a security code which was given at check in.
The 2 toilet/shower blocks were spotless although depending on where your pitch is can be quite a walk away.
There’s an on-site shop which is well stocked. The breakfast pastries are really good but you must order the day before.
The site is spotless. The grounds are well looked after.
There are water points dotted around the site if you don’t have a serviced pitch.
There’s a 5mph speed limit around the site but be warned there are some idiots who think it doesn’t apply to them. So if you have children with you be careful.
There’s a bus stop at the top of the driveway to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe and you can take your dog on there. Timetables are available from reception.

Lovely Campsite with accessible bus service on a circular route to Ilfracombe and Woolacombe.
More suitable for motorhomes than campervans with only outdoor cooking facilities due to high winds.
Shop on site selling items from the local bakery and everyday items.
Fish and chips, pizza and Thai food can be purchased throughout the week.

This is a wonderful location with fabulous coastal views,
Right on the footpath to Woolacombe or Ilfracombe and on the bus route for the same destinations.
Facilities are clean, comfortable and spacious.
The shop is well stocked.
The staff are charming, friendly and very helpful.

Everything was so smooth, check in was done very efficiently and pitch was clean.
Staff really good and when I asked for a move as my sea view had been partially blocked they did with no hesitation.
Shop was good but being as it was a working farm expected a lot more farm produce however this did not retract from a lovely break
Will definitely return

Nice site…. If you’re in a caravan.
Yet another CCC site that caters for caravans and not tents. Tents are given a section of the site that is protected from the wind BUT this area is furthest away from the toilet block. I set my Apple Watch one morning and it took just under 4mins to get to the loo. The distance away from our tent (return) was almost a third of a mile!
Yet the facilities are slap bang in the middle of all the caravan pitches who all have their own loos!
Apart from that, the shop was good, although the man working in there is rude. A bonus of having a wetsuit wash room which was invaluable for us as we spent most of our days at the beach.
All in all, a nice site if you’re in a van. Would I go back? Not with a tent, no.

A very open site easy to get on and off pitches with huge gaps between units, so everyone gets a view of the sea on the tiered site.
The showers are brilliant, with no timer, a powerful spray and plenty of room to change.
The site is very dog friendly with it would appear, every unit having a dog!
You can order pastries and pizza the day before (so there is a covid - safe pickup time) the shop has everything you might need to top up what you ca, e with, which is good as shops are a distance away.
The walk down to woolqcombe is mostly straightforward, although the public footpath going THROUGH the easewell campsite was 2. 25 miles to the beach we went to, which was Barricane beach. That in itself was worth the trip.
When walking to wooloacombe there is a path across the hills avoiding the steep road beyond morthoe, it’s on the left after the chapel as you leave town, the OS maps didn’t have it on, but the national trust own it.
Walking on another day to and from Lee is another great walk, stop at the Gramous Inn for lunch!
There was so much to see when walking we didn’t use the car once!
I came here years ago and the strong winds and wet weather made the open site horrible, however in the sunshine and low wind this time, it was idyllic… set you expectations accordingly.

Bit hard to get to if any car’s or caravans are coming opposite you but take it easy and you will be ok
