On arrival we were greeted by a couple in their 60s (at a guess) who didn't speak much English, but after booking in and paying, the man on reception told us to follow him and he would show us were to pitch.
I immediately noticed the lack of road noise which surprised me a little, given the close proximity to the busy 6 lane A12.
The site is mainly geared up for the residential chalets that are abundant on the site. The tents/touring pitches are not so well catered for. Electric points are adjacent to the pitch, but there wasn't any water on the touring field and I had to go to another part to find any. Toilet/washing facilities consist of an oversized 'shed' with 2 wcs in each of the male & female rooms and 2 hand basins with cold water. Outside there was 2 basins for washing (no indication whether it was for dishes or clothes), with hot water on coin meter and a CDP.
Although there were some showers, these were situated near the artificial beach and swimming pool and children's play area, with said users, including 'day visitors' in mind (again on a coin meter).
Whilst the views over the lake were very pleasant, overall I got the impression that tent/caravans (particularly without children) were tolerated rather than catered for.
