 Easy access to site, premium pitches are at back of site nearest main road better off on a standard pitch.
Key needed to access facilities block 2 keys given per pitch, as usual very clean.
Chip shop, cafe and ice cream shop on front near site. 2 Co-Op stores in town plus a good butchers on the square plus a few independent cafes and shops.
Beach is shingle you can walk along promenade to harbour which has pubs, the food at the Ship inn was very good, cafe and a restaurant and a seafood trailer.
You can walk to Dunnottar castle a steep climb up from harbour but then a pleasant walk along the cliffs, if the Land train is running you can catch that back into town.
Outdoor swimming pool next to site and leisure centre also.

Very nice site, friendly, helpful staff and immaculate facilities.
Stonehaven itself doesn't have much to offer. Yes, it's beside the sea and it has a long shingle beach, but there's nothing particularly attractive about the town.
There is a fairly frequent bus service north to Aberdeen or south to Dundee. Both are worth visiting, but it can a long trip unless you use the 'X' bus or train.

Really welcoming site.
Nothing was too much bother - even provided mats for my friend's tent on the hardstanding - just need to get rock pegs for next time.
Facilities ultra clean and warm.
Great location and you get 10% off at the Bay Chippy.
Great recycling area

Nice site very near, but not exactly on the seaside.
Right beside the council’s heated open air swimming pool.
On edge of town but easily walkable along a nice promenade.

Well organised club site, with good clean facilities. Opposite the beach and next door to heated lido.
Pleasant walk into town with lots of cafes and some shops.
Exhilarating walk up to the war memorial and castle with great views from there.
Some play equipment for small children.

I camped for 2 nights - very tidy site, lovely location near the sea. About 30 mins walk from the trainstation, so easy for non drivers or those saving carbon.
You can't book online for a tent pitch, you have to call the site - they have 3 tent pitches available. I paid £23. 90 for each night.
Good clean showers and loos, drying room, laundry, dishwashing room. Sadly no kettle available for the tent camper, but this site is of course aimed at tin tenters - it is now the caravan and motorhome club afterall, tents have been dropped (!)
I found this site very friendly though, the staff were great (and kindly charged my phone for me, lent me a charger). You get 10% off at The Bay chippy if you show your site fob.
Stonehaven is also very nice, nice town centre, walks, and Dunottar castle is incredible.
Very much recommended, just wish tents had a little more provision made for them by the overall organisation.

Perfectly placed site at the end of the Promenade. Typically high standards of CAMC on site and in facilities.
Small town with a few shops, cafes and many takeaways.
The walk to Dunnottar castle was the highlight. The beautiful harbour at the opposite end of the Promenade is a gentle stroll, then a very steep climb up behind the houses before it levels out.
Great for a couple of nights with plenty to see and do nearby.

This campsite is really well thought out. All the spaces are laid out well and the facilities are easy to get too.
It is right opposite the beach as well which is a big bonus.
There is a great chippy just along the road, and the little town is within walking distance.

This is a great little site in a superbly convenient location - right on the beach and with a short (10-min) walk along the promenade to the middle of town.
Whilst a club site, it is not at all regimented - the staff are friendly and welcoming and keep up a top standard of maintenance - the flower displays are superb. Pitches are large and level, with service points well located.
Main site facilities are excellent and conveniently located right in the middle. One good touch is that there is a single, unisex toilet cubicle opened when the main facilities are being cleaned.
The adjacent swimming pool (said to be the only 'olympic-size', heated, sea-water pool in the UK) is a good facility, but the constant 'muzak' can be a little intrusive when the wind is in the wrong direction - best to pick a pitch towards the far side of the site !
Just beyond the pool is the Cowie bowling club, which also has tennis courts and a putting green. However, the best part is the unbelievably cheap bar, open 7-days and with a substantial outside terrace (also an adjacent cafe).
The town is small but has a full range of retail and numerous cafes / take-aways / restaurants.
We cannot praise this site highly enough - a definite 'must-return'.

Great welcome, nice pitches and good facilities.
Not a fan of club sites, but this was fine.
Easy walking from the site along the beach, promenade and into Stonehaven with some shops and cafes.
Useful map on arrival with places of interest marked - including dog friendly cafes!
Amazing outdoor swimming pool next door - I didn’t use it but it looked like a special place and people were enjoying it in the good weather.
