We stayed here for 7 nights starting Easter Saturday. We had great weather all week - no rain at all. We were out everyday, and visited many interesting places - Grimes Graves,Horsey Wind pump, Framlingham Castle, Orford castle, Saxstead windmill, Dunwich, Alburgh.
The site itself is a very rustic, old style farm, with lots of old farm machinery around the farm buildings. We were met by Sophie, the farmers daughter, who gave us a tour of the facilities, which consist of a small field by the farm yard, which has 2 hookups, then at the farmhouse a lean to building which contains the toilet and shower plus washing up area. These all met the needs, although we found the shower cubicle a bit on the small side, and the water not too hot at times. The washing area was also a bit short on space.
The farm also has a play area for the children, consisting of 2 rope swings.
The children loved playing around the farm. There are many chickens and several cockerels, as well as geese and a couple of cows.
Be warned - the cockerels are early risers - 4 am most mornings! We got used to them after a couple of nights and were able to sleep through the noise. However we loved seeing them roaming around the field, sometimes popping in the tent to see what was for tea!
We noticed the traffic on the A143, which passes by the farm, and can spoil the rustic, relaxed scene somewhat.
However, all in all we really enjoyed our stay there, and would stay again. Our hosts were very welcoming, and the eggs were great!
