Great site with good facilities, including fridges and a freezer.

A difficult walk into town, but you can use local buses (that stop at the end of lane) to get into the pubs if you donít want to drive.

One negative the recycling seems very poor, most sites seem to manage.

Good 4g coverage.

Would highly recommend the Precipice Walk, which can be done straight from the site.

In a beautiful setting with walks and cycle rides near by.

Dolgellau is a pretty village with shops, cafes, pubs & restaurants.

Campsite is simple with basic facilities. It did become a bit of a mud-bath in the rain! Friendly staff.

We have visited the site several times over the last 10 years and now find the site a little tired, particularly as it isn't a 'budget' site. It is usually very busy at weekends with groups of people so if you are looking for a quiet site this is not for you.

The facilities are very limited in number so when the site is busy with campers then they are inadequate.

My main annoyance is that we were charged an extra £2. 50 a night as we had a dog but nothing on the site is provided for dogs, no poo bins nor dog walk. Why charge extra for dogs when they cost the site nothing.

We were left with the feeling that money was far more important than providing a nice campsite. It is unlikely that any of our group will come here again.

Family visit in May half term - 2 adults, 2 children (8 and 6).

This site is in a nice location, lovely welcome etc. However we had the misfortune of visiting on May bank holiday weekend.

The site was absolutely rammed and unfortunately the facilities couldn't cope with the volume of campers. There were regular blockages in the toilet which was a problem.

Unfortunately the grass was really long (hadn't been cut for some time) and as it was wet, meant that our children had soaking wet feet for pretty much the whole visit.

Once the bank holiday had passed, it was much quieter and a totally different experience. The kids had space to play, there was much less noise and no problems with the facilities.

So unfortunately my rating reflects both a poor and nice experience. My tip would be to avoid at peak periods because the campsite can't cope but if you go away from major holiday weekends, you'll have a really nice visit.

You do also get some road noise from the A470 and whilst it isn't loud, if you are looking for a quiet Snowdonia retreat, then this isn't it.

In short - I'd go back at a quiet time but can't recommend during peak periods.

We return to this campsite regularly at different times of the year first with a tent and now a campervan. They are always welcoming and have plenty of spaces. The shower and toilet block is one of the best, with underfloor heating and three good showers, wash cubicles and toilets which are all cleaned frequently.

The hardstandings and electric hookups are in a flat area and there is a tiered area and another field if you don't need ehu, these are sloping with flat areas, pick your own spot.

There is a small lake with ducks and horses in the field behind the campsite. No children's playground.

You are allowed fires as long as you buy a pack for £5 which consists of kindling and firelighters as well as logs. There are fridges and freezers available to use. They also have a locked bike store and a bike wash. Hot water at the washing up sinks.

It is a long walk (1. 5 - 2 mile)into Dolgellau and is down a busy main road with no footpath for a lot of the way. There is a good Co-op in Dolgellau. Much better to bring a bbq and drinks and sit by your fire in the evening and watch the bats and the stars coming out. There's a bus stop nearby on the main road to Barmouth and Aberystwyth and many places inbetween.

Booked for two nights on our tour of north wales and left disgusted after one night only. It appeared that the owners spray painted the pitches to get more pitches in for easter. We parked our motorhome on the only available hard standing with a space either side of us and all seemed fine until a caravan arrived next to us and pitched their awning within 9 inches from our home then lit a fire and kept it going all night whilst drinking copious ammounts of stella. Then a large motorhome arrived next to us and decided to park it sideways on because it was too long for the pitch and boxed us in so we could only put up a windbreak instead of our awning. Chlostrohobia we complained to owners and the motorhome moved 2 feet. No other pitches were offered to ease the horrendous congestion and no apologies either. Disgusted we left with no offer of refund at all. Will never ever use this site again. Be warned if it`s a busy time expect to have your pitch shortened and compromised.

We stayed here for 5 nights in August 2016. We loved the fact you can have a camp fire. Newish shower block with good facilities. Wifi was variable but you could get it if you got in range. Lots of wildlife, ponies to look at, heard owls at night. Black waste is open as previously described, but we didn't think this was such a problem to be honest - it is quite a distance from other campers, and there are plenty of drinking water points on the site, so no need to use this water point! However it is the closest water point to some of the terraced pitches, so maybe that is why a child was using it, misunderstanding the situation. Staff very relaxed - pitched where we liked, few rules, but I can see this attitude might provoke people when there are rowdy groups on site.

This is delightful, welcoming camp site with facilities for both tents and caravans and good disabled access. It is well maintained and very clean. The toilet/shower block in particular was of a high standard, centrally heated and constant hot water (although there are only 3 showers in the Ladies so this could prove a problem at peak times). There are good laundry and fridge / freezer facilities, a bike wash and covered bike lock up which is great. Open fires are welcomed with the purchase of a complete fire kit for only £4. We were fortunate to be there during lambing season and saw new births daily. Lovely lake in grounds too. Conveniently situated to Coed Y Brenin, Snowdon and Dolgellau.
