Trip number 3 to NYM club site, just me and Norman the spaniel. It is a really great place. Bagged the same grass pitch as I had back in May, number 84 near the entrance. Fab wardens, lovely quiet location.
Had a walk down from the back of the dog walk to Falling Foss Waterfall, through the woods to May Beck car park then back along the lane to site, about 3 miles or so, which was a lovely walk, some steep bits and a flat walk along the bottom.
Had a day trip to Whitby, the park and ride is excellent and so easy to use. Went on an open top bus tour round town which was very interesting. Saw the whale bone arch one last time before it was removed the following week to be replaced with a bronze sculpture that should stand the test of time.
A ride out to Goathland for a bit of a heartbeat reminisce. Walked down to the station, which I’ve not done before, worth the walk.
A local agricultural show at Egton took up one of my days, a fab, traditional show with lots for all the family if it’s on when you’re around.
Plenty of peace and quiet and thankfully still some sunshine for a good read and watching the world go by.
If you’ve got a dog, make sure to do the flea spot on and take a tick twister as there are lots of ticks waiting to pounce on your pooch as they’re going by on the NYM, only to be expected when there’s sheep and deer around.
I’m sure we’ll be back next time we fancy a trip up to Whitby. via mobile
Lovely site, well away from the road, so no road noise. Plenty of dog walks round site and outside it.
Well placed to visit Whitby and Scarborough.
Peace and quiet with my dog. Good sized pitches, mostly hardstanding using the 2 peg system.
Well kept site with a boules pitch and crazy golf course. No shower block so own san essential.
My only reason for probably not returning would be the steep hills to get to site from Pickering direction, perhaps when I have a larger tow car! via mobile
Nestled amongst woodland for shelter with the purple moors resting on the edge. Arriving via a lane to May Beck, careful of the ewes and lambs lazing on the road; I was delighted to set up camp.
Choosing my own pitch, it was difficult to decide, there is not a site I would not have enjoyed.
Plenty of space and enjoyed the discovery of several walks for dogs to be free.
Easy drive to coast, boats, cafes and shops.

In the heart of Wharfedale, this beautiful site is terraced to give amazing views over spectacular countryside. Hardstanding pitches for caravans and motorhomes and grass pitches for tents, with optional electric hookup. Toast marshmallows around the fire pit! Come and say hello to their family of friendly resident alpacas.
Hot showers, toilets, laundry, washing up. Wifi, dog washing facilities and bike cleaning facilities. Large woodland area where kids can explore for hours. Small shop and morning coffee shop for barista made coffee, fresh pastries and hot chocolate. There are also luxury timber lodges with private patio, wood fired hot tub, fire pit with pizza oven and a picnic table. The perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. We don't generally like club sites as we prefer CLs, but struggled to find availability spanning the weekend.
This site was very quiet, and didn't feel like a 'housing estate' because of the circular layout amongst trees, and there are no toilet/shower blocks, which we don't need in any case.
There are gates next to some of the pitches, which lead straight out onto the Moors, and it was a short walk to Falling Foss.
This was our 'umpteenth' visit to the site. Set in beautiful countryside, peace & quiet are the rule here, ( only marred by the wardens zooming around on their not so silent tractors!)
There is now a motorhome waste water dump, great improvement.
Parking in Whitby with the van was difficult, we tried to park & shop @ the Co-op, gave up! Sainsburys on the Scarborough road was the solution.
If you like the quiet life & are self contained this is the site for you.
We really loved this site. Well located a few miles from Whitby. Easy access to the moors, close to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Alnwick, Bamburgh and Holy Island. The pitches were level with a choice of grass and hard standings. No shower and toilet block, so can't comment on these! Water, waste and chemical points located close by. Quiet site, the only noise we heard was the gentle bleating of lambs.
We stayed at the North Yorkshire Moors Site recently, 2 nights Saturday and Sunday for our Motorhome on a hardstanding pitch with EHU for 2 adults was great value at £13 per night.
The Site is very quiet and peaceful, only 6 miles from Whitby.
Well Situated for Robin Hoods Bay always worth a visit.
