Immaculate site, surrounded by big trees. Needs TV hook up (available) or satellite.

Not great for my dogs as no where to let them off leads so not really ideal for me.

The Northumberland countryside is beautiful and (I'm told!) ideal for walkers bikers and bird watchers.

Nice site, friendly people, immaculate and clean, just not for me.

Just spent 4 nights here whilst storms battered the UK, branches & 1 tree down ( being dealt with by NT Rangers as we approached Scots Gap) on the approach roads after leaving A696, site didn't look too bad - pitches dry & no flood alert in place for river running thro. Wardens were very friendly. We stayed on site, only leaving on Saturday to go to Elddis open day - no joy/ deal there. The dog walk is roughly 1 mile long - going upto Nunnykirk House, please comply with requests regarding keeping your dog on lead & clearing up otherwise this facility will be lost, Fontburn Reservoir has a superb children's Adventure area with zip wire ( left on Res. Wall )- plus a good 2 hours walk round on the Waterside Trail - one of the field waymarkers is down in the fields left of the farm - head down slope to the corner of a wood. Hopefully we will get back next year

Great site with minim facilities.

Very good location for the Cheviots ant Rothbury.

Good walks nearby, and good access to activities further afield.

Large grassy pitches, all with electrical hook and TV.

Not much to add to the previous review. No hardstandings but grass is pretty firm. Wardens do mark some pitches as being better if weather wet. Very friendly welcome. Having no toilet block means this is a 14 per night site (15 in 2019) and that price applies to Bank Holidays. Rothbury, nearest town is well stocked with independent shops and cafes. It stages a food and craft fair in May Day bank holiday Monday. Further afield is Morpeth which is much larger, lots of shops but parking difficult with disc system operating (obtainable for 1 from lots of shops). Alnwick with its castle is a popular destination and also has plenty of shops and cafes.

We've used this site a few times and love it. It's in a very remote spot, but there are lovely walks from the site. Rothbury and the Simonside Hills are about 10-15 minutes drive.

Very quiet site with minimal facilities.

Will certainly return.

A lovely, peaceful site surrounded by mature trees. Tv reception poor but our cable attached to the electricity supply board did the job. Good mobile signal and 4G. All pitches are grass but there was no problem after rain. Wardens very helpful and friendly and went beyond the call of duty helping us out with our very old dog. Would be very happy to go back in the future. Nearest town with shops is Rothbury 10-15 mins away. We like the fact there is no toilet or shower block but some may not.

This is a nice quiet site a few miles from Rothbury. A brilliant place to get away from it all. Excellent walking nearby.

There are no showers or toilets but pitches have EHU and TV hook up. Grassy pitches which could be problematic in wet weather.

Great site!

A mast has been built nearby and there is now a strong mobile signal. TV is still from the bollards. If you are a sun lover then check that your pitch will not be in deep shade for part of the day: the trees round the 2 outer fields are large and mature.

A friendly, peaceful site with plenty of space. All pitches are grass but, even in wet weather they seemed firm and the wardens confirmed that they had had no motorhomes stuck.

Very convenient for NT Cragside, which has dedicated motorhome parking. All roads to the site are narrow but we did not find this presented any problems if we took it slowly. The site shop, which is open for the same limited hours as Reception, has a few basic items but do not rely on them having milk, bread etc. There are no shops or pubs within reasonable walking distance so go prepared.

Lovely! Quiet and peaceful, beautiful setting and surrounding area. Warden really friendly and helpful -she lent us a TV ariel extension cable when we realised ours wasn't long enough! Idyllic setting means that phones, wifi, etc won't work. However. EHU post includes TV ariel connector which provides good signal so park near or take an extension cable with you! Rothby is nice and the butcher's bacon and sausage is a must. Although no toilet/shower block, other services were excellent and a bargain at 12. 50 a night. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

Incredibly quiet site tucked away in deepest Northumberland.

Lovely warden, very helpful and knowledgeable.

Well kept site with immaculate grass, loads of flowers and even herbs growing with an invitation to use them for cooking.

No toilet block but ample service points (non specifically for motorhomes but the warden has made a clever gadget for emptying waste from wide bore systems)

Narrow, difficult roads on approach

Nowhere to walk dogs off lead - the dog walk is on someone else's property and the signs insist that they are kept on lead at all times. If you have an active dog that needs to run then this site really isn't for you.

Lack of any kind of mobile signal or wifi - this might be an advantage for some but not if you need to be contactable.

No playground or area for children to play away from the pitches. There was only one family there when we stayed and the only noise you could hear were the children (just being kids). I think the family were a bit embarrassed.

My general feeling is that this site is mostly for caravans as you really need a car to go to anywhere interesting. Yes you can use the motorhome to get around but the roads are a bit stressful.

Very good value for money at 12. 50 per night for members.
