We stayed here in mid September on our way back from Germany.
We decided to stay 2 nights as we arrived early evening on the first and wanted to look around the local town and the lake.
As it was heading towards he very end of the season, the campsite was looking a little tired. There weren't many people there and we got to choose a pitch next to the lake.Which the dog enjoyed immensely! The lady at reception was very good despite my appalling attempts at French and even got her dictionary out to help me! We had to borrow a converter for our electric cable as there were only the black European type sockets and we have the blue 3 pin plug (we will be buying a converter for future!). This was borrowed for deposit of €10. The reception was full of leaflets about the surrounding area, and I suspect, had my French been better, the lady at reception would have been able to tell about about plenty of things to do and see.
The facilities were adequate although there were no seats on the toilets which was not very comfortable really. The showers were good but the water temperature fluctuated greatly. The cold taps on an evening seemed only to run with hot water which made toothbrushing a little odd. In the morning the showers and toilets were cleaned, and in doing so, the chap cleaning, left the doors open.September.Brrrr.And also the door between male and female showers, much to my husbands surprise when he walked butt naked out of the shower to find a lady applying her makeup in front of the mirror in the male block!haha!
There was drinking water and fill up stations for vans. There was also washing up, laundry, chemical loo disposal areas, games area, little breakfast cafe and static caravans also available to rent.
The town of Gerardmer was a short walk away. It was quiet at this time of year but most of the shops were open and the people were friendly and helpful. We walked around the lake on the second evening in just over an hour which was pleasant.
The price was probably a little high considering the facilities and we probably would not choose to stay again, although the Voseges area is lovely and we would maybe look for another campsite next time.
