Update to my first review. Tried to visit in 2104 but no-one at reception, swimming pool empty, no visible campers, no answer to site phone number. This year we tried again (high season. ) mainly for the super walking on site. Reception empty as before, but finally found manager, and booked in. Our favourite emplacement was too overgrown to get in, but we found another OK - site very quiet for August. Pool looked OK, but everything else run-down, eg no hot water in our toilet block. Facilities now v outdated. Restaurant not in action ? Bread delivery v late, etc. Enjoyed the walks as before, but some quite overgrown & marking erratic. All in all, not impressed.
Lovely site - friendly and efficient reception, nice flat emplacement with electric close by, and stunning view of Rhone valley (and Mont Ventoux !) Good facilities, showers, loos etc, lovely big pool overlooking valley. Small shop, bar & restaurant/snacks. Bread every morning. Best thing (and reason for visit) is the fabulous walking (on site so no clothes needed) on the hills around. Didn't have time to explore the wider area, but scenery fabulous. Big Super-U with cheap diesel in Lodeve 5km. Altogether a great site.
For peace and quiet this is the best site I have been on in France. The pitches, although sometimes difficult to access, are terraced, as this site is on a hillside above the town of Lodeve. Acess to the site is via a single track road for nearly 4km, uphill, but it is worth it. There are wild flowers and bushes in abundance. The toilet facilities are clean and good. There is a bar and restaurant, and open air pool, with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. There is also good walking in the surrounding hills. There is no shop on site, but the town, 4 km away, has everything.
