 My wife, 16 year old daughter and myself stayed at Camping Le Romarin after a 4 day stopover at Saint-Cirq Lapopie (Lot). We had a great time. Nice pitch among the cork trees. Tents not overshadowed by caravans. A nice well laid out site that seemed smaller than it actually was. Evening entertainment every other night has a 'Spanish feel'. Little English spoken by the lovely couple running the Bar/Food which actually made it always fun. One large toilet block clean and sufficient. (my wife is very fussy as regards toilets). Wash your dishes watched by Lizards. Oh the showers are heated by solar panels so don't expect piping hot water.
Argeles-sur-Mer is 5 minutes but we preferred to drive to Baynuls sur Mer or Collioure. The coast between the campsite and Spain is very scenic. Great snorkelling in the marine reserve. Inland borders the Pyrenees with plenty of streams and rock pools up in the hills not far from the campsite. If you fancy a change from the beach visit Lake at Saint Jean Pla de Corts. Great for swimming and some 'rip wire' rides across the lake and through the trees. Spain and the Costa Brava is not far for a daytrip.
We would definitely visit Camping Le Romarin again. A long drive but we had a great time there.
