The site itself was good: toilets were clean, the fishing was fab, walks were peaceful, and showers were hot! Great local facilities, and peebles is just a short drive away.
The issue we found were there were a lot of duke of edinburgh groups which we were not informed of, and these too stayed on the camping field. Some of the groups were fine, courteous, polite, quiet and respectful: others not so much: screaming, shouting: falling into the tent playing rugby: so if you stay round this time, do check this prior to booking! Also, it appeared as though a couple of the static caravan residents found this annoying, and they tried to drowned it out with loud music. Not great when you want a quiet break: after all tents are not sound proof!
That being said, the site is great for touring, but do check for the groups! We will in future!

In general this site was a bit rough and ready. Grass could have done with a cut, pitches were small, and positioned in a way that some would have been a challenge for big units, not a problem for us with a 5 metre campervan. A popular site it got quite busy at the weekend. Toilets were simple but clean. Site is on the banks of the river tweed on a cycle track so great for cycling and walking. There is a nice looking play area for children. It is a 15 minute walk to shops through a housing estate. The on site pub served great pub grub, nothing fancy, steak pie, fish and chips Mac and cheese but beautifully cooked and tasty. At £16 per night it was good value. I would go back.

We have used & reviewed this site before. This time we took a grass tent pitch with hookup. Again we were impressed with this site & found toilets & showers even cleaner than in the past. Even with the site being busy due to a nearby major MTB race & participants using the site rather than roughing it at the basic race venue.

Hook up is paid for with pre-paid cards to the value of £1. We used nearly £4 worth using a fan heater over 2 evenings. Overnight & morning, small LED light & coolbox.

If eating out in Innerleithen I highly recommend the No:1 cafe down near the Co-op.

We have just left after three weekends stay. We were able to store the caravan during the week for only £10 which was ideal.

We have only had our caravan for a year and have been to various sites some with fully serviced pitches. This site is by far our favourite so far. We are actually considering getting a permit. Even though they don't offer fully services pitches the excellent price of £16/night with electricity makes up for that. The facilities are well kept and clean. There is also an on site bar 'Tow Bar ' which serves a good pint and food.

The site is set in a stunning location next to the river amongst the hills. The best thing about this site is the clientèle it attracts, everyone is super friendly unlike some sites we've been too. It's only a short walk into Innerleithen which has a great coffee shops and restaurants. Peebles and glentress are also very accessible as there is a cycle path that is far away from the road following the river. Takes you direct to both ( about 6 miles each way ).

I'm struggling to see how people have left anything but positive reviews for this site. I think some people can not be pleased. For example glentress charge £24/night for caravans, so unless you want to have 8 showers a day this site is way better value for money. Also I'm confused by the comments re washing dishes in the toilet facilities. These facilities are merely under the same roof in a separate room to the toilets and showers. We have never been bothered by any noise however I guess this could happen at any site.

Thanks for a wonderful stay, we will be back.

We've used this site a couple of times now & will continue to do so as it's so close & handy for the MTB downhill tracks.

Tents have their own small field. No hookups but I guess you could camp in the main part of the site if required - check first.

We noticed caravaners sometimes let their children play in the tent area despite 'no ball game signs'. This has never caused us any annoyance & I guess can be dealt with easily if it does.

Access to riverside walks via gate in camping area. Facilies are clean but showers are extra.

Nearby mini-market a short walk onto neighbouring housing estate. More in town plus good eats.

There are contractors use the site & the warden is aware of previous bad review. They will act if noise etc is brought to their attention. We've not experienced any noise.

There is a bar on site but we've not tried it yet.

We only stopped one night as we were attending a function locally and were then heading south.

The owner was very friendly when we arrived and we had booked an 'electric inclusive' pitch. It was level with plenty room for us. There were other pitches which had 'payment by card' arrangements for electric.

We did not spend much time on the site but certainly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

I can not comment on the toilets/showers as we use our own facilities.

The only slight negative is the access through the housing estate with cars parked on either side of the road but it did not cause us a problem with a large caravan.

Pitched up for the weekend in my new caravan. The lady on reception was very friendly and explain the site lay out well to us. Was informed that they normally provide meals but chief on his Holiday.

We had plenty of room on our pitch. But this helped because the site was about empty. Think it would be a bit tight if the park was busy. The toilet block was not as modern as some. But kept very clean. £1 for showers, never tried them as used our own.

There was a very popular bar on site which seem quite nice. Having a pool table and slot machine. Nice pint. Also a small handy shop.

The fact that there was some empty spaces were static caravans used to be. Made the place look a tad messy. But maybe being filled for next season. Also a small playground.

What really liked about this site and what would make me return. Was it was right near the river. Which was great for dog walking. Also a nice flat path for cycling. My youngest of 4 managed a round trip almost to Peebles 11 miles.

Within cycling distance you had the world famous 7 stanes Mountain bike trails. Also a new GO APE at Glentess.

Last year we stayed at this site in a tent for one night during a bikepacker tour. There was some kind of domestic going on from the contract builder/roofers site attached which kept us awake most of the night. So for this years spring bike tour we thought we'd stop in one of the Pods which would be quieter. So this April we stopped in a pod for one night which has a wall mounted heater and carpeted floor. The price (£35 last years price) was way over the top for what is provided. The showers which were spotless and well lit are £1 each visit.

The site itself looks onto some beautiful hills that surround it and are awesome when the sunrise hits them. Innerleithen itself is a great little place with everything a camper would need for groceries and takeaways that are delivered to the site. On the site there seems to be a lot of contract builders and roofers who have there own shower block and facilities. At midnight on Tuesday we had the pleasure of country and western played at full blast coming from one of the contractors range rovers, at 12. 30 when I had to take a look I realised why the music was playing so loud, it was so the other 20 or so people having a BBQ could hear the music. This went on till 01. 00 when to the sound of Dolly Parton I passed out. The 60 mile bike ride next day was tough to say the least. We wont be going back. There seems to be lots of empty spaces appearing which is a shame.

This campsite is in a very nice setting by the River Tweed.

The wardens were very friendly and we were allowed to choose our own pitch with (currently) 'free' electricity (the hook-ups are being changed over to prepay, presumably to pay for the amount of electricity used rather than a fixed charge).

Toilet block was clean and tidy but the showers were very expensive. Very quiet site since a lot of the statics were unoccupied.

Lovely walks by the river and the shops are only a short walk away through the housing estate.

The site is lovely. Friendly owners and very clean and neat with great grass and gravel hard standing for touring outfits. Great walks by the river and the town is very pleasant.

One thing we didn't like was the dishwashing sink in the toilets. I felt very strange about doing the dishes in the same room as people using the toilet.

One other point for motorhome owners is that it's difficult to fill your water tank and empty waste as the tap and waste water drop is hard up against the toilet block wall and the tap has a short hose (about 18') attached to it.

For this reason we would only be able to stay for two or three days. With a motorhome point and a proper dishwashing area it would be perfect.
