 Decided to have a few days away, Common park not too far away, met by Sally and her husband who were a very nice couple, working farm, but no noise from it at all. Husband had a days free fishing in the small pond, caught fish every cast, nice roach up to a pound in weight, and Rudd. The other pond closer was full of weed and low water height so didn't fish it.
Nice dog walks, nice flat level pitch. Very little road noise due to good high hedges.
Will definitely be back again.

Our first stay at this site and what a gem. On arrival, Sally met us and sited our tourer in a very pleasant and well maintained site. Even when it rained very heavy, you would see pegs and ropes appear guiding vehicles away from boggy ground.
The area was very quiet but close to the main road into York and Park & Ride. In the opposite direction, within minutes, was a large Garden centre with cafe.
I was disappointed in the two fishing pools as one was overgrown with bushes and the closer was very small. However, I spent several hours in beautiful sunshine catching fish and watching the free aerobatic display above from the close private airport.
We also had sparrows nesting at the side of the van and watched the chicks fly off in the 8 days we stayed.
Thanks to the very hard working owners for another memorable stay.

What a super site this is, we booked for a weekend to visit York as there was only 1 review we thought shall we take the chance and yes I am really pleased we did.
It is set in a lovely spacious area of the farm with loads of room next to an orchard; I did have a couple of hours fishing each day and caught lots of fish.
The site is great for the short drive to the park and ride which made life so easy and free parking and the fare is only £2. 30
I would just like to thank the very kind owners of the site as this is a gem of a find and will certainly be visiting again.

Spent a very pleasant four days at this site. Nice flat site with lots of space with five hookups spread accross the site, you will need to use your own facilities as there is no wc.
We were met on arrival by the owner who provided a friendly welcome and some information about the farm and surrounding area. There are lots of walks straight off the site down bridleways and also two wild ponds where you can fish. About 15 minutes from York. Locally there is Allerthorpe water park about four away miles with canoeing and sailing and Pocklington is about two miles away with pubs, shops, leisure centre etc. Only half an hour from home but one we will definitely be using again.
