If you are In a touring caravan this is a awful to put it very mildly, nothing but a shanty town of mostly Brits trying to live a dream, great restaurant and great chalets but nothing has changed on the touring area apart from more permanently sited Brit vans, counted just 4 pitches available to visitors. Far better sites within twenty miles.

We have just returned from here yesterday & had to put on a review, I have been to many places in the world, but have to say if I was to want a place to move to this would be it!
We booked a cassa via e-mail, this was easy. We where looking for somewhere hot & boy did we get it! Arrived Saturday morning after a faultless drive down from Alicante airport, didn't struggle to find it as followed directions given in email & looked on Google earth first (why don't others??) yes it was dusty but what do you expect in a desert area?? & yes some touring caravans could do with a wash (bit hard when your not even supposed to wash your car as water is so short?!) We where given directions to our cassa at reception/shop & found it no problem.
WOW! It overlooked the pool & bar area with its own steps down from patio, there where 3 bottles of wine waiting for us on table, milk, sugar, coffee all there. 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living area & conservatory all spotless. Patio set & Sun beds all there, even a washing machine! (Not that we used it)
Used pool everyday, was excellent, used bar & restaurant many times, breakfast of Spanish bread with tomato & cheese was our morning choice, but also sampled Sunday carvery (excellent at €8-50) & also had the 3 course meal at €12-50 twice! Excellent food every time.
As we had a hire car we also visited the local area, loved all of the villages, especially Mojacar, this hill top village is stunning & we visited 3 times.
All in all we had an excellent holiday & it was less than £500 for the 2 of us including flights, car hire & accommodation!
Will we be back?? Yes Yes Yes!

The description & one review looked very good. Directions & signage to the site not the best but we eventually found it. Unlike all the Spanish camp sites we have visited over the years we had to pay up front at this one but we assume it was English owned! Pitches on dusty gravel with overgrown hedges everywhere. Lots of old caravans littered around, one held together the front window with sticking tape! Clearly a large ex-pat community had static vans there. Sanitary block quite basic but clean. Nice pool & restaurant. Would not return.

We arrived here for a week, but because of the fantastic weather and lovely people on site ended up staying for two months - it was raining everywhere else, but in Los Gallardos it was nothing but sun!
The site is very well equipped with large pitches which makes it easy to get your unit on and off.
A fantastic restaurant on site, we often ate there, and there are lots of delicious restaurants around in the area.
The site has a great shop (hello Gareth!) with friendly staff and everybody seems to know your name. The community spirit on site is great, and we shall be returning this autumn for another stay!
