 Very quiet and perfectly located for walking on the Pennine Way.
Site appears tiny on arrival but extends back quite a way.
Seems to be mostly given over to caravans with just a few touring pitches.
Pitches are level and easy to get on and off.
Two types of showers: the older ones are perfectly acceptable and about what you would find on many campsites, and there are two for which you pay an extra £1 (coins needed) which are completely renovated and deliver 5 minutes of water which is more than enough. Unfortunately they seem slightly wasteful because I could not find any way to stop the water because I had finished showering before my time ran out.
Very peaceful location although I could have done without the bird with hobnail boots who was jumping all over my van roof in the morning!
Village has a pub, which I did not visit, and the Postbox Pantry which is lovely and the owners are very friendly.

A great campsite. Clean, beautifully positioned, very friendly owner, Julie.
Facilities where spotless. Very nice.
I recommend this site highly.
Good pub across the street. Don't forget to book a table, pub is very popular and often fully booked.

Another real treasure of a find. Although the Site only has space for 6 tourers, the facilities are excellent and it’s situated just 3 miles off the A66 and on the Pennine Way. There is also a grassy area for tents.
The Site is notable for its cleanliness and helpful staff. At £25 a night it’s marvellous value.
Tourers are all on hard standing, concrete pads, with a gravel surround so easy to keep the van interior clean. Each pitch has EHU and water supply.
Washing facilities are unusual, as others have said in that both sets of toilets have a perfectly decent shower which is free but an adjoining building has deluxe showers at £1 for 5 minutes. There is a separate area for food prep/ washing up.
Lots of walking options and Appleby has a decent coop plus individual shops. We had a very good meal at The Stag Inn.
We’ll be back.

This site is right on the Pennine Way. It is mainly caravans however there is separate space for small tents. Its about 150m by 20m, nicely kept grass slight slant with a water tap. In tent area thoughtfully some chairs and a small table to use at will.
Wash rooms are very clean and modern. There are two showers on press button, hot water, which is free and perfectly good. Then there are the posh showers, these are new but you will need a pound coin for 5 mins, also pan and clothing wash. Recycling set behind the wash block.
Julie very pleasant ring on your arrival, lives very close by but too difficult to describe. If walking she would want a phone call at least her night before.
There is Pub that does meals in town 3 mins by foot, but can be booked up.

The site is divided into two main areas for tourers.
Field A is for seasonal vans, Field B is further divided into two areas, upper and lower.
The upper area is nearly all seasonal and hardstanding with grass, whilst the lower area is all hard.
Our preference is the upper area with grass. I only gave 9 out of 10 because of the main touring area being all hard.
Otherwise a great site.

A lovely campsite in a beautiful part of the world. The host, Julie, was very friendly and offered me a choice of pitches.
I was hoping to stay two nights, but I had to cut my trip short due to exhaustion, as my activities on the first day were quite intense!
The toilets and showers were very clean, and I would have given them a higher rating, but there was only one shower block and it was a bit of a walk away.
However I really enjoyed my stay, and I will definitely visit again.

Excellent from start to finish. Julie text early on our arrival day to advise how to access site and which pitch.
We had pitch 33 with a tap and EHU next to the facilities block which was handy. Hardly any of the seasonal caravan pitches were in use so the site was quiet.
There were a few backpacker tents each night and the hobbit huts were in use. Level pitch with good access. Touring area was terraced in 3 rows - facilities on top row.
Fantastic wooded area with ancient trees and a stream - Dufton Ghyll Wood - with direct access from the back of the site.
Amazing for dog walking. Adjacent small public car park and children's play area. Easy access to Pennine Way for High Cup Nick Walk. 4 miles uphill to get there but worth it for the views.
Also a good walk up Dufton Pike - circular walk of about 5 miles but quite a strenuous climb to the top for 360 degree views. Julie was very friendly and amenable.
She was busy working each day but found time for a chat.
Only thing we might change would be the addition of a second washbasin in the facilities, or a private washbasin cubicle would be perfect.

We’ve tried to get on to this site before, but this weekend we got lucky.
What a fabulous site! We wanted 3 nights but it was full on the Friday, so we booked Saturday and Sunday.
Julie texted us at 10am on Saturday to say the pitch was free.
That is incredible service. The site is lovely, big pitches with hook-up and water.
Clean toilets and showers.
Great walks straight from the site.
There aren’t many touring pitches.
Book well ahead - or don’t, so we can stay again! Excellent site.

Nice site, very welcoming owners, loverly clean and tidy facility's.
Very reasonable site fee`s which includes ehu and water.
