 A quiet, peaceful site.
The toilet and shower block are very clean.
Dog friendly.
Plenty of places for walking.
There are great views of Rivington.
We have been here several times and always enjoy our stay.

We chose Rivington caravan site because it's very close to the Rivington Terraced Gardens.
We have, over the years, watched volunteers clear the Lever Terraced Gardens and decided it was time to visit again. Last time we saw them, it was just after we moved to Somerset, they were a bit over grown and we stayed in Chorley Lancashire.
On arrival at Wilcocks farm I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities. The pitches were reasonably level and well spaced apart.
It was such a shame that storm David decided to descend on Britain at the time. We lost our awning, however, there was no other damage to the van or to us, which was a godsend.
We had a meal in the Great Barn of Rivington then looked around the information centre nearby. The following day was spent in the Terraced Gardens; parking is at the south lodge entrance. The left path from here leads to Levers Bridge and the Pigeon tower.
I would recommend a taking a day to walk around and see what the entrepreneur Mr Lever was; when he gave Lever Park to the people of Bolton to partake of the fresh air. Being of Bolton heritage, we visited Bolton market, but was rather disappointed by the visit. There were less British held stalls in the market for our purchases and enjoyment.
Over all Wilcocks Farm was the best site we have stayed at in the North of England.

We stayed here for 4 nights in order to see friends in the area. A pleasant small site with a spacious pitch. The toilet block had was warm from a wall heater and tidy and the shower was equally hot.
The light is on a motion sensor timer which didn't seem to last long enough whilst in the shower and toilet. Opening the door or waving a towel from the shower seemed to reset it. Although it looked tidy I wasn't aware of it being cleaned or smelling of being cleaned whilst we were there.
The pot washing area only seemed to have a cold top and no obvious hot water, so we just washed up in the caravan.
There was great walking and running in the hillside up towards Rivington Pike and Winter hill. The extraordinary Rivington Terraced gardens was a very interesting exploration.
We visited the National trust property of Rufford Lodge 40 minutes away and the Reel cinema at Chorley.

Beautiful campsite in great location with excellent, clean and warm facilities.

Not the first time we have stopped here and won’t be the last.
Location on a working farm. Nice and wide pitches.
Facilities spotless with key code entry.
Very friendly and helpful owners.
Quiet and peaceful relaxing stay.
Not really anything for children but they can look at the sheep and watch the sheepdogs going through their paces.
There is go ape within 10 minutes. We first took our grandchildren 14 years ago and they loved it.
Plenty of walks and cycle routes in the area.
Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Laverick Hall Caravan Site - Lancaster
This touring site offers spectacular views towards the Lake District and Morecambe Bay, with Blackpool Tower also in the distance, yet located just over 3 miles from Junctions 34 and 35 of the M6 motorway. Visitors will find just 10 electric pitches for motorhomes and touring caravans, with access to the superfast Wifi, toilets with sinks, a shower room and fresh water taps. Dogs are allowed and there is a designated field for walks.
The local village of Halton is a mile away from the site, offering a convenience store, newsagent, pharmacy, post office and fish and chip shop. A beautiful, quiet and well-kept site on a working farm. The toilets and showers were immaculate - free push button type fixed head shower. Hairdryer available for a nominal 20p. The pitches are well-spaced with EHU and water available. The surrounding area is wonderful, nestled right by Winter Hill. Good reception and free wifi.
This is a working farm and a joy to wake up to see the sheep!
Please follow the helpful directions given by the owner at the time of booking as the alternative "satnav" route is not suitable for large vehicles. Owners are very helpful and not obtrusive, check-in was self-service with a handy information leaflet - even included some local food deliveries!
The washing up facilities are basic - a Belfast sink with a very small lip on the side, however, the water was hot and as I had my collapsable drainer with me it was no problem just to pop washed wishes into the drainer on the floor.
All in all a very lovely site in a stunning location. Perfect for walkers and those just wanting peace and quiet.

Quiet site with good size pitches and wonderful views.
Contactless check in worked fine, with welcome details and instructions left on a board with envelope to return registration details and final payment.
All communication via email with fast responses.
Toilets and shower immaculate with codes for entry.
Roads for access fairly narrow, but received instructions for the best route which were a great help to avoid potential problems.

Excellent well maintained site, in a perfect location.
It was a real pleasure to stay there, and we will be back.
TV and mobile reception was no problem.
WiFi could be stronger these days, but we cant have everything !

We stayed here for 3 nights. It's a lovely site, spacious toilet block with two loos and a very nice free shower with lashings of hot water.
We didn't see the owners but Julie was in touch via email and text, gave clear instructions on how to get there, and everything was clearly labelled and described in the welcome letter which was waiting for us.
Only thing I could not find was an elsan disposal point, but it was raining cats and dogs so I may have missed it.
When it isn't raining the site has beautiful views over Rivington, beautiful walks up to the Pike and lunch at the Barn, all most enjoyable.

A very pleasant site, within walking distance of Rivington village. There are footpaths straight from the site into the western Pennines.
The site itself is in farmland so do expect the sounds and smells that you would associate with this. It is however pretty peaceful.
The pitches are sufficiently spaced so as not to feel on top of one another. Due to COVID not all facilities were open but there is a family and disabled wet room with toilets which were clean.
There is no dog walk and I didn’t notice any dog bins either, which in itself isn’t a problem due to the close proximity of footpaths immediately outside the site but a charge of £2 per dog per night was still made. I know this is becoming quite the norm and I don’t mind if there is some sort of facility for the dogs but I do feel it is just an easy add on in some cases.
Anyway overall, I liked the site and would return.
