We were very impressed with this site and its location. The welcome was warm and friendly.
We had called in hoping for a space, our vehicle is around 8 meters in length, and they had one suitable pitch available.
The site entrance is accessed under the large multi-arched railway bridge (which was incidentally damaged during WW2 by a bomb dropped by a Lancaster bomber)
The showers and toilets were clean and well cared for. There was a nice washing up area.
The pitches were of various sizes, with EHU. Our pitch was a little rough underfoot and sloping, but no real problem with risers being used.
The swimming pool was lovely and the shop sells fresh bread, plus a nice selection of essentials. There is also a bar and restaurant, which was unfortunately closed on the day we arrived.
One small criticism would be that there were not enough drinking water taps on site, none of the dozen or so pitches around us had a tap near to them.
The only obvious taps were halfway down the driveway towards reception, near to the static units, that I would assume had full plumbing inside.
The main attraction for us was the beach, literally over the road from the site, set in a small cove. The whole of this coastline is really stunning!
The train station is around a 10 minutes walk away and busses run along the coast road also. We took the train to La Dramont, which was nice and we found interesting WW2 history involving the American landing sites there.
We would certainly return if we are in the area again.
This campsite is by miles the best value for money site we have EVER stayed in, and this is after 20+ years of camping with a large family, all over France. It really cannot be faulted on any level, from the minute we arrived until we left, everything was done by the team to make our stay special. This is an independent family-run site which takes great pride in their customer service and their beautiful spotless grounds. Literally 50m away from a stunning, safe and clean sandy beach with breath-taking views, an excellent heated pool with slides, a well-stocked and reasonably priced shop and an attractive bar/restaurant with excellent food, service and live music. We loved it and wished we could have stayed longer.
