Just spent a very enjoyable weekend at the Lakeside Tavern the site itself is super basic(proper camping)with only 4 water points and an elsan disposal point, no shower block or toilets (though you can use the pubs during opening hours) however the hospitality shown to us by the owners and their family and also the locals (Hi Mark,Stan and Warren)more than made up for this, great food, local ales,roaring fire and a close proximity to Stafford made this a great weekend even if we did have to wipe frost off the tent Sunday morning !,see you in April(motorcycle mechanics show)
P.S would make a great club site if you could organise some portaloos!.
P.P.S only £5 a night fantastic

Grass needed cutting. Very long. Pub could have done with an air freshener. Food was basic for homemade. No electric but had water and elsan point. Landlord and landlady very friendly. Pub seemed to lack commitment and phone number never got an answered when trying to book or replied to messages left. The camping area is very large and we were free to pitch anywhere in the massive camping area with damsons and blackberries in the hedgerows. Close to canal and a mile from village stores and other pubs, bargain price of £5 per night for tent
