We liked the open gravelled grass area at the bottom of the site with good views of the hills and countryside.
It was a good place to chill out, though all the walks in the village seemed to start on the road. Handy for Jimi and June Blake's gardens, which we visited and enjoyed.
Except for the price (40€ a night) it was like stepping back in time, which we appreciated, though the loos didn't always flush well - I had to use bowls of water to clear everything.
This is a lovely site in the village of Donard on the edge of the Wicklow Mountains. There are great views over the owners farm and mountains.
Very friendly and helpful owner, facilities are very good, toilets and showers very clean, laundry and lounge room with loads of local information, maps and suggested walking routes. There is also a large campers kitchen and bbq area with3 bbq's and picnic tables.
There is plenty of hard standing with electric hook-up, these are set amongst trees and bushes, and a large grassy area for tents.
The village has a post office, small shop, amply stocked and a couple of pubs.
A great site for the mountains and only an hour and half drive from Dublin, great stop for the ferries, sight seeing and walking.
A delightful small 3 star site in County Wicklow. A good stop off as only 40 miles from Dublin Port. We stayed for 3 nights and left for the UK on Easter Saturday.
There are lovely views of fields and mountains. Good wide hardstandings with 10amp electricity. Although we did not use the site facilities they appeared to be in good order and I believe the showers were free.
TV is poor and we only got one really good channel which was Irish ITV but most of the other campers used satellite dishes.
Apart from one other couple who departed the day after we arrived we were on our own but several more came on Good Friday.
There are are two pubs in the village but only one sells food which appeared to be chips and pizza.
The owner, could not have been more helpful and was a delight and charged us 65 euros for the three nights including electricity.
