This is the worst campsite! It is a car park with the smallest plots that I have ever seen. Firstly they wouldn't accept the ACSI card though the handbook said that they would. The unhelpful guy behind the desk said only certain weeks but wouldn't say when. We were very out of season. So it was 29E instead of 18E. The first pitch that he directed us to was tiny and on a slope. A small hatchback would fit but not a motorhome. When we went back he acted surprised that the van wouldn't fit and asked if we could drive it properly. We then were given a pitch which was between two trees. The Motorhome is 2. 4m wide. The pitch tree to tree was 4. 5m! We had to get the van under the low branches but so the we could actually open the door! It was cobbles and level but such a tight squeeze. We wanted to buy some milk from the shop but couldn't as they only accepted a camp card which you had to buy - minimum spend 50E! The website had some lovely pitches overlooking the sea - 59E per night low season! The shower block was dilapidated but clean. We have travelled though France and Italy several times and this is the worst campsite that we have ever stayed in. For some reason that I don't understand it was packed! A Swiss couple in a motorhome had the same experience as us we discovered when chatting at the washing up sinks. They had planned to stay for a week but were only going to stay for 1 night. Best avoided though San Remo itself is great.
As with other people who have left a review, I can confirm that the campsite entrance is very tight and you need to watch for the rear end swing to mind the wall
We were let down by a site in France and decided to look for a site in Italy, I had a twin axle coachman and a ford transit, why do people look down on this kind of rig?
The site was 50 euros a night.
The beach is a small cove and more like the remains of a batching plant than a beach and you need to keep your shoes on.
There is a entrance to the sea from the site and unless you are a good swimmer don't use it as you have a small ladder fixed to the rocks and can get bad scrape from the tide against the rocks
The site is clean and tidy with a good cafe and first class swimming pools. The night staff are very firm as regards the rules and this is a good point I feel.
To sum up Very expensive an for the price you can do a lot better but for me it was a case of any port in a storm
This large, 5-star campsite is right beside the sea, although there is no beach at this point, just a rocky breakwater. Unusually the site is entirely brick-paved. This meant it was very easy to level the van and there was no mud - useful, as the weather was wet and wild - but it would be difficult to put an awning up.
The very pleasant restaurant and bar are open all year. The toilet blocks are clean, modern, completely enclosed and heated in winter, but we found the water was not very warm, and it was the same in the washing-up area. The launderette equipment was in need of refurbishment.
There is a lovely swimming pool and the whole site is very nicely landscaped, with palm trees, eucalyptus and flowers. There are a number of bungalows for rent. Reception staff were helpful, and in high season there are a number of organised excursions and activities, and San Remo itself has all the usual seaside facilities.
There is no shop on site but a supermarket within a short walk. On the down side, however, the site is very expensive (although we were ok as we used camping cheques), there is some noise from adjoining clay-pigeon shooting, and the electricity is only 3 amp so we couldn't even use our electric water heater!
