We've just returned from 2 weeks here. We were on the Beach site, which is a totally separate area to the main site. The pitch sizes are fab (some of them are huge. ), toilet blocks lovely and clean, very quiet at night as it's away from the entertainment, directly by the beach, nice friendly staff - what more could you want !
Definitely to be recommended, but if you want a spacious pitch then make sure you book the Beach site, as the access and pitch sizes on the main site would have been a nightmare for us with a Twin Axle and 4x4 :)
We were looking forward to visiting this site having seen it ten years ago on another visit to the area.
After reporting to reception we went to find our pitch to discover that we could not get too it due to the cars parked outside the statics and the narrow roadways with posts at each end. We went back to reception and they helpfully gave us a choice of pitches. The state of the pitches is not good, dusty mud, they are small and we only just managed to fit our 21ft motorhome on with very little space to sit outside.
The whole site is very packed in and appears to have too many pitches/statics for the size of the site. Some toilet/shower facilities good, others old and small.
Swimming pool small and very regimented with times, supermarket excellent. Evening entertainment good, but the noise from the surrounding areas does not make for a peaceful holiday.
Fun fair at end of road good although expensive (open 8pm - 2am). Plenty of shops and restaurants in area and lovely beach with calm, clear sea, ideal for swimming.
I have just returned from here, with a large group, mix of 2 year old up to 84.
The site was very clean and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We stayed with the Keycamp firm, but did see many plots for people to camp in, the were good areas too, right near to the beach and shop.
The shop was OK, but then we went out of season.
The swim pool was great, the baby / small kids pool had a rubber surface, I'm sure online there are pictures. Also boys can wear board shorts instead of speedo style trunks, which seem to be the norm in France.
I have a son who is a pirate fan and the camp is decked with pirate 'stuff' lots of fun to look at. There is an adventure playground with a very large pirate ship, and the pool area and bar is meant to look like a ship.
The toilets and showers were spotless.
Dogs are allowed and they have doggy showers!
The street does have a quite a few shops, some tacky some very nice.
We used the bakery in the highstreet, where the locals tended to go, very good!
We used the restaurant a few times, right opposite the main entrance, Le Saint-Pierre, very nice food and very friendly service.
The beach was also great, lots of shells to find and going into the sea is flat, and stays quite shallow for a while, so you can go quite far out.
We are def. going to go back, the only score of 9 was for customer service, due to not needing them, as we had Keycamp Rep and for facilities, the shop was lacking some foods.
We went in April, but I personally wouldn't go in August, as it would be far too busy for us.
