A beautiful site set in the Lincolnshire countryside with plenty of space between vans and space for kids to play. The site is quiet with wonderful views across the surrounding fields.
As you would expect from a small site there are limited facilities (water, electric, chemical point and recycling) but the main towns of Boston and Skegness are only a short distance away.
The site is well kept, clean and tidy. I loved the peacefulness of the site and the amazing stars at night. A site we will definitely visit again.
Please be aware that two very well known mapping systems 1) on the www 2) your very own SatNav, will arrive you at the wrong site address for this post code. You will be directed to Willow Farm instead of White House Farm, approx another 200 yards or so along the road.
Please be aware that all roads to this site, once you have turned off the main roads such as A16, A52, A158, in my opinion, are atrocious. The B1184 station Road after Sibsey level crossing is bad; at the T junction heading Midville, New Leake and Eastville gets even worse and when you turn across the drain at the pumping station the road is little more than a farm track, 1st gear with no revs on.
There are advisory maximum speed limit signs of 40mph on the surrounding roads, but I would not drive above 30mph and down to 20 mph with the van in tow.
The site entrance is just wide enough, but the owners have put brick built conifer tree raised beds in this area making it a tight squeeze entering / exiting the site with your unit in tow, I made use of the embankment outside the site entrance.
The location itself can only be described as a field in the middle of a field in the middle of no-where, the site owners are friendly when you see them.
We were given the choice of pitches and any direction, we found that the further down the site you went the deeper you sank into the ground, I did struggle to move after stopping for approximately 1½ minutes to asses the pitch. The east end of the site does appear to have better drainage and is firmer under foot than the west end. Check the wheel tracks.
The site facilities; electric hook-up appears to be fairly new, drinking water, grey water and chemical waste disposal are adequate with night lighting.
There is no dog walk, but plenty of riverbank to walk along. No children’s play area although the site is possibly quiet enough for you to not worry about traffic.
We also had to make sure that our drinking water carrier was covered when 2 days the adjacent crop fields where being chemical sprayed.
There are plenty of places to visit in the area: -
WW2 historic sites including ‘Just Jane’.
Ingoldmells: with its market, arcades, abundant fish & chip eateries and beach. Skegness: with shops galore and more fish & chip eateries and beach.
Spilby: a very nice little town with some quaint shops and a very, very nice bread / cake shop, which will turn your head.
Snipe Dales: lose time and make the effort to walk around with your pet, or kids its worth the parking fee.
Aladdines Cave: just up the road (it’s a time warp) I thought we where going to see (Aunty Wainwright) walking around there, its a real blast from the past you can waste a couple of hours easily and they do have a tea room with conveniences.
If you want a really quiet break this has got to be the site for you. (Billy No-mates springs to mind).
