We booked in 2010 and found the site had closed. However, they honoured the booking. I really wish they had not. On arrival we were met by very unhappy neighbours that we had arrived, to say unpleasant was an under statement.
The site really is just a field at the back of a pub, we have done the back of pubs before and never had this reaction.
The management were very friendly and helpful, but the bad impression we were given was not nice. The pub itself was different, we ate there and really wish we hadn't.
All in all if the site gets a proper license, we would NOT return. Sorry.
Arrived in the pouring rain, didn't think much of the place at first glance, but how wrong! Although they haven't got showers yet (told its in the pipeline), they brought us in, warmed us up and made us feel really welcome.
There is a pub on the site and the customers were brilliant! They were so friendly and funny. We stayed an extra 2 nights and didn't really want to go. Woburn Abbey is just a stone throws away and the walks are to die for. Didn't realise how lovely Bedfordshire was.
We will definitely be going back as soon as we have a few days to spare, they let us have bonfires and b.B.Q's, didn't mind the dogs running around and the kids spent most of the time in their garden, which is huge! If it wasn't for the lack of showers this site would probably be the best we've stayed at for friendliness and help.
Definitely one of our better stops.
