We stayed here for a few nights to explore the area, which is really beautiful. It is in the middle of the town, but right at the top of a hill surrounded by trees so was surprisingly quiet at night. There didn't seem to be any noisy entertainment at night.
We saw buzzards and red kites flying around, and there were a pair of Peregrine falcons doing regular fly-bys.
The pool was the clearest and cleanest I have ever seen, and was supervised although it says it isn't. Be warned though, that it is used by parties of children - perhaps summer school groups - in the afternoon so can get really busy and noisy for short while.
We didn't eat at the bar but we bought frites for four and a steak hache, which were really delicious but pricey.
The sanitiares were fairly basic and the floor could get slippery after cleaning. The showers are adequate but not very nice to be honest. There are lots of shops nearby but possibly not within walking distance.
There is a great dog walk which you can access from the football pitch.
It is not far from Clermont-Ferrand, but you can head up into the hills which are breathtaking. There is a lovely volcanic lake about 15 minutes drive away where we went a couple of times to swim with our dog.
It is handy for the Puy de Dome as well.
It cost us 26 euros a night for the four of us (2 adults and 2 older teenage kids) plus dog.
