My adult daughter and I stayed here for 11 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were pitched on hard standing with electric (paid £35 per night).

As others have said the toilets & showers are lovely. Each of the shower rooms also has a toilet in there. The showers are free and it is push the button type where it stops after a couple of minutes.

If you do spend too long in the shower (as my daughter did) the lights go off and the sensor is outside of the shower room. The light in the shower room does glow green so you won't be completely in the dark (there are no windows in the showers themselves)

The quiet hours on the camp are from 9pm. When at 10. 30pm it was still noisy I did contact the staff and they asked the relevant people to keep the noise down. I can't fault the staff.

The location of the site is great for accessing major roads, but is also near the Kent showground. There were some diversions in place when a show was on, but it didn't present us with too much of a problem.

It only takes about 5 minutes to get to the shops in Maidstone. If you go a little further (about 10 minutes) there is Sainsburys which was the cheapest for fuel (Quarry Wood Industrial Estate, Mills Rd, Aylesford ME20 7NA).

One of the nicest places we visited was Kent Life and it is definitely worth a visit if you like animals and a bit of history.

The Negatives:

Anyone wanting to pitch a tent with electric hook up, is put behind the hardstanding pitches. We found this to be a bit close for comfort.

Just returned home after a lovely 3 night stay at this site. It was a very well looked after, clean site and facilities.

Brilliant that it is so dog friendly with a lovely woodland walk adjacent.

Great that cars are not allowed to park on the grass areas ensuring a safe place for children to have fun.

Toilets and shower blocks were always kept to a high standard and the staff very friendly and helpful.

We will definitely return later this year.

We thought this site was more suited for an overnight stop, or permanent residence.

Facilities good. Nice clean shower/toilet block, (albeit only half in use because of Covid restrictions)

One facility sadly lacking, no platform for draining grey water tanks for motorhomes.

 Lovely setting and spotlessly clean.

Unfortunately no time to explore the woodland trails on this our first visit.

Easy check in with pleasant staff.

Will be visiting again. Thank you very much.

We live locally to Oak View, however we wanted to give our new caravan a shakedown so didnít want to travel far in case of any issues.

The site is lovely, set at the top of the downs in a very green setting within walking distance to the County Showground.

Facilities on-site are exceptional, the toilets are immaculate and modern and the pitches are generous in size, whether hard standing or grass.

The staff are lovely, Trish was helpful and friendly. If you want a well kept site with everything you need for a relaxing weekend in the countryside, we canít recommend Oak View highly enough.

We will definitely be back soon.

First time at this site; really liked-

Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff

Immaculate showers/toilets (liked shower & WC being combined)

Excellent Covid set-up - felt well protected

Great wash up facilities with plenty of hot water

Very clean and tidy rubbish, water tap, disposal areas

Walks directly from site through woodlands

Walkable to local pub (stony& uphill on way back)

Wonderful community shop in Detling

Site has plenty of space, surrounded by trees, huge green area in middle, didnít feel too regimented

Shame there is no Wifi (but we managed)

Some traffic noise but didnít impact in any way on our enjoyment

A great site with easy access to Kent coast

Will we return?? Of course!

Wonderful site. Well organised, friendly helpful staff. Immaculately clean facilities 3 times a day.

Lovely woodland walk for the dog through a gate off of the site. Enclosed and very safe.

Great for Leeds castle, Whitstable and Maidstone.

Will definitely be staying again soon!

The campsite was very clean. The staff were really polite and helpful. Itís a small family run business, the toilets and showers were very clean.

The ice cream van came round a couple of times which is quite reasonably priced. The kids that were there seem to be enjoying themselves although thereís no facilities for children at all most had bikes or scooters. Itís a shame they canít build a park of the young ones but over all quite a nice camp.

Thereís a wood where dogs can be walked Which was nice. But we personally had no problems at all. We went out for days so we werenít there all the time sheerness was lovely had a lovely beech.

Thereís a lovely shop nearby that is also sells coffee & lattes And fresh cream cakes.

Huge space. Clean. Tap and loos.

Paid for wood for a fire - didn't see anyone so didn't get the wood. No fire pit available anyway.

All in all a good site though - easy to find, spacious, clean and quiet.

Just back from an amazing weekend with friends and family.

Oak View was a last minute find, and as always was nervous of a new site, particularly as our friends were reluctant newbies.

But what a find!

Not too big, sensibly allocated field camping with absolutely spotless facilities.

Staff were all fantastically friendly and helpful, and canít applaud them enough.

Itís only just reopened so still sorting out a few bits, such as a camp shop, but theyíve thought of that and a local shop does fresh deliveries of local produce twice a day.

We will definitely be back, along with our new camping convert friends!
