The campsite is down a shared single private track which is full of massive holes, after a bumpy ride you eventually reach the gated entrance to the site, . The site, which is basically a field with a big pond, a barn which is being slowly being converted into a dwelling for the owners and very basic toilet facilities. - but hey it’s glamping right!
It’s like staying in somebodies back garden, small and intimate, which is ok if you know them, but if you don’t, it’s kind of awkward!
The owners are friendly enough, but they hate their neighbours and have been in dispute with them for a few years over planning, and we really didn’t need to hear that!
All in all, it was a nice part of cornwall, and although very windy the weather was quite kind.
Another point to note, if you walk footpaths using maps like we do, you’ll notice that there should be a footpath trough part of the site, but it isn’t there, you go around the site !
We have just returned from brook meadow and we travelled as two families of four, one with a baby. One with two dogs. We took one large tent and one trailer tent. We found it to be a wonderful site, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The site was very clean and spacious. The children had a ball on the mound and loved walking around the lake. Thank you so much and we look forward to returning. The neighbours were respectful and the atmosphere was lovely.
