Description

NEW FOR 2017 - CHILD FREE CAMPING.
The Pig Place is a working smallholding adjacent to the Oxford Canal. We specialise in breeding pedigree rare breed Oxford Sandy and Black Pigs and the rarest of rare breed British Lop Pig. All of our pigs are outdoor born and bred and there are usually piglets running around exploring their surroundings.

The grassed paddock used for camping and tourers is between our vegetable patches and the livestock area ensuring that there is always something to see and feeding time is an experience not to be missed.

The Oxford Canal is England's oldest mainline canal and many of the passing colourful narrowboats pull in to stock up in our farm shop, which is stocked with our own home produced pork, traditional sausages, dry-cured bacon and free range eggs.

Our site might be basic (festival style portable toilet, as a working farm we do not have a shower block)but the on-site attractions more than compensate: rare breed pigs and piglets; native sheep and lambs; free ranging chickens, ducks & geese - come and see for yourself and leave with an insite into British rare breed livestock at its best.

Freshly cooked food from our outdoor food van includes sausage, bacon & eggs and roast pork, stuffing & apple sauce which is open for breakfast, lunch or even upon your arrival (advance notice required).

Nearby Attractions

The canal towpath provides excellent walks to some of Oxfordshire's and Northamptonshire's prettiest villages, pubs and restaurants. If you haven't brought your own dog we will happily loan you one of ours!

Public golf course approx half a mile away. Just 4 miles from Banbury and less than 10 to the infamous Bicester Village Designer Outlet. Silvestone is a short 20 minute car/bike journey away.

Directions

6 miles from Jnc 10 M40, pick up A43 towards Silverstone then B4100 for Aynho. Thru village continue along B4100 past two car garages and turn to Kings Sutton. 200 yards past turn is entrance to a layby shielded from road by trees. The Pig Place entrance within lay-by.

Approx half a mile from golf course is entrance to the layby. The Pig Place is within layby. If you pass turn to Kings Sutton or car garages - you've gone too far.
