We went for a weekend of camping at Chapelfields and a fantastic time (4adults/4children/1dog). A really well run site with fantastic hot showers and washing up water and facilities to do so. The porta-loos are kept really clean and plenty of them. There is not a bad place to pitch, all are good.

Sarah the owner is really helpful and runs a little shop in the mornings for fresh croissants and eggs etc.

Can't recommend highly enough, really great camping with roaming donkeys on your doorstep (not in your field!). We will be back. Andy, Claire, Jon and Teresa.

Fabulous campsite and and lovely hospitality. Going again this summer. Quiet and very pretty location. Spacious, dry field. Very personal, friendly welcome and clear instructions. Easy booking through Sarah with email and PayPal. Walking distance to a great pub. Beautiful and quiet part of the forest but easy driving to Salisbury. Good, basic, clean showers and bathroom facilities. I can highly recommend.

Mark, Canada.

This is a great site, really friendly and helpful owners and great location. Lovely quiet field, close to a pub which is a 5 minute walk. Daughter loved the Ponies & Donkies wandering down the village road just out side the site gate.

Campsite is very clean with great, hot showers and individual washrooms and fully stocked exceptionally clean portaloos.

Free use of freezer to re freeze packs, bin bags provided, Hot washing up facilities with free liquid all make for a great camp site

Chapelfield site is right on the edge of the new forest with easy access to shops, attractions, bike hire etc. Wild life nature reserve at end of field. Plenty of room for children to play.

Would recommend this site to families, small groups, couples alike.

We stayed here (2 adults, 2 children) for 3 nights and all loved it! The facilities are good, with porta-loos dotted about the site (do not be put off by porta-loos - they were spotlessly clean with battery lights for night). The showers were also very good, in a porta-block, but again spotless and powerful (more so if not many were using them, but still fine if busy) They had a washing up area, with washing up bowls, dish scrubbers, drainers and liquid supplied! Couldn't have asked for more. The owner (and the chap we met) were very friendly and the reception area has leaflets giving information about things to do in the local area. They also supplied sweets and fruit in bowls for the children (or adults!) to take when they visited!

The pitches are marked out and are plenty big enough. They also had a 11. 30pm quiet policy and a no music policy and it was fully adhered to every night (if not earlier!) The owners gave us info about the site on arrival and it states that they will ensure this happens and if you have any issues to go to reception. (there is a chap that seems to sleep in the caravan at reception each night) That was peace of mind, but not needed at all. The local area has a great pub with an outside play area for children 5 minutes walk away, as is the open forest. The ponies are hilarious and we often found many of them standing on the steps of the village hall or queuing at the pub gates, waiting to get in!. We had a great stay and would highly recommend! - Just one more point - we could not find a cheaper site than this in the many sites we looked at in the New Forest, so all around, win win! We'll be going back!

We had a lovely time at this camp site, and can confirm all the positive things other reviewers have said.

Just one negative thing - we were told to set up on the pitch right behind the central portaloos when we arrived. I think this is in fact too close, as throughout our stay we got whiffs of the chemicals(and other things) and also sound effects.

Not sure why we were told to go there, as there were other unoccupied pitches throughout our stay.

Perhaps the two pitches which are so close to the central portaloos should be taken out of use?

This is not to say the loos were dirty - on the contrary, they were very clean and well-maintained but we arrived on Sunday and they were emptied on the Monday, so we may have encountered them at their worst.

We spent a lovely long weekend at Chapelfield and would happily come back again! Set down a quiet lane, it has a very relaxed feel.

Yes, the facilities could be seen as 'basic' but we didn't think so. The toilets and shower block were spotless at all times. As was the campsite field. The free fruit for the kids was a nice touch and the owner (who stayed on site) was always very friendly.

The field is undulating, but we liked how the tents were all placed up at the top which left lots of space for the children to play and a nice big slope for them to run/roll down. Not having a play area wasn't a problem for any of the children as they happily made friends and just played and ran and laughed. Bliss!
