User Reviews of the Nevada MP
By: Sue Coyle Reason: Other Made in: 2012 Rating: Date: 08/02/2013
I bought this one for me, my grandaughter and big dog and it was perfect. I could keep the dog on a leash whilst cooking and she still had room to move around in the tent. The two zipped bedrooms were brilliant although we combined them as my dog wasn't happy sleeping on her own! My Grand-daughter and I managed to put it up ourselves although we needed help the front awning as we didn't seem to have the strength.

This is my favourite tent as its so adaptable, its ideal for a small family or just for weekend camping but put an extension on it and you have a great place to cook under cover or just to sit and relax however put the awning on and it becomes a large tent with plenty of room for those longer trips.I looked at lots of tents but kept coming back to the Nevada as with the abundance of windows to let the light in it never felt dark and dingy like some other tents and the Mocca colour I really like as it stands out from all those green tents.
Size wise its suits us down to the ground, im a single mum with 2 youngish boys and have used it for weekends away as well as longer trips, its very easy to put up on my own, not too heavy and it has never let us down even in the gales and very heavy rain over the Jubilee week it stood firm and never let in a drop of water which is why I cant understand why 'Arayment' had problems with his pegs as our ground was more than soggy and our pegs never let go in the gale force winds.
The tent itself is nicely thought out with 3 entrance doors, one at the front and one each side, all three have flymesh screens on them so in warm weather they can all be opened up for ventilation without flys, wasps etc getting in plus 1 side door has a rain safe hood on it. Ive already mentioned the windows and these all have curtains on them so a bit of privacy can be had. There is enough room in the living area for table, chairs etc without being overly cramped and things like cable entry point, lamp hanging point, storage pockets are all nice touches which add to an enjoyable experience. Bedrooms, listed as 5 berth, well you would have to be pretty friendly, I would say 2 adults and 2 children would be fine, they are split 3/2 with a zipped central divider which can make 1 big bedroom if desired or the smaller bedroom can be unzipped to make more living space.
Accessories, this is the thing I like about Outwell the number of accessories they have available, I bought the footprint as it not only helps with positioning the tent it also keeps the sewn in groundsheet clean. Also decided to buy the carpet for a nice cosy feel and the extension for longer trips to give a bit of extra room.
Ok its a bit more expensive than most but I feel its well worth it

Fantastic tent for our young family - plenty big enough to live in on rainy days, but light enough to carry and pitch at music festivals.
A few minor niggles. The poles seem a little flimsy - we've bent the joint on one of them after only 2 uses. And as mentioned many times already, those plastic pegs are pretty useless unless you're pitching in a stone-free, slightly moist field.
Great value for money though, and having experienced many other tents in this class, this one beats them all hands down - you can just see the jump in quality.

Difficult compromise
This Outwell Tent has caused us to waste a lot of time trying it, it would we a great Tent in reasonable conditions but when the winds get to around 30 mph, I would recommend you pack up and go home. I have camped for 30 years and have not been defeated by the weather but this tent failed at about 35 mph wind and also rainy conditions. Well under the 55 mph claimed by Outwell, it may well survive 55 mph in Dry conditions, but in soggy ground the plastic pegging system didn't hold for us, causing the fibre glass poles to snap in multiple sections and the tent to become a large sail very quickly. Luckily this happened to us in the daytime and we were able to get it down. For fine weather camping this is a lovely spacious tent of average quality finish. But to rely on in all weathers beware. We returned this tent and brought a Wild Country Family Khamsin, as we knew we could pop it up in the wilds an not worry in windy conditions.

Bought Nevada m as a weekend tent as I own a Montana 6 but is too much work to put up for two nights, first off thought the wind stabilizing velcro was a good idea as was the inner pole to give the front extra strength, bedrooms large and airy as was whole of tent really, rain canopy on side was a bit small to be practical though. Only problem we had was put front extension on and when wind got up it put a lot off bend on tent so be careful of this. All in all it is a great weekend tent and proves you get what you pay for.

We bought a Nevada M a couple of months ago and have just used it for an 8 night camp. First of all I am going to explain why we picked this tent because it covers most of the key points.
For the last three years we have been camping in an Outwell Oregon 5, we have loved this tent and have not had a problem with it. That is until Eatser 2012 when it was wet and cold and the lack of a SIG was clearly noticed. When we got home I wrote down all the things we love about the Oregon 5 and the things we would like to change,
Love
Three pole tunnel tent
Easy to erect
Fits in one reasonably sized bag
3/2 bedroom opening into one room
Need to change
Carpet gets wet all the time when entering tent
No SIG so can be drafty
Very big slope on front means lots of space lost
I then went searching for a new tent. I have to admit that I like Outwell tents, I did look at others but all along I thought I would buy another Outwell and I did. As soon as I saw the Nevada M online I knew it was the tent for us. It ticked all boxes as far as the good and bad of the Oregon were concerned.
We have just spent 8 wonderful nights in it, I admit we took it to a campsite 4 hours from home without having checked it out but it was perfect. We are a family of three and for us the size is just right. I would not want to have 4 or 5 people in there as I don't think there is enough room.
I did not buy the carpet, partly because I don't like the brown circle carpet and because it is a similar size to the Oregon 5 so we used that carpet. The Oregon is only 3m wide and the Nevada 3.6m so we had a 1 foot gap at each size. No problem as at one side we had a doormat and all the shoes and at the other a cupboard and two boxes so you could hardly see that the carpet was slightly too small.
We are very very happy with this tent, even hubby who is not into camping as much sat in it and told me he loved it. We also have the enclosed awning but I will review that in the right place :)

We have had this tent for a couple of years and have found it to be very good, standing up to very high winds last year and very heavy rain this year, with only a little rain penetration around one zipp area. Will fix that with some Fabsil.
Overall we are pleased with it and have just bought an extention. Shop around for the best price.

We have a Nevada M & bought it based on reviews here. We use it for just 2 of us as it gives us ample living space. It is pretty easy to put up however our eyebrow canopy pole recently snapped & it has always felt too big for the tent. I like the fact that there are lots of windows allowing plenty of light in during the day.We have also bought the front extension which is a god send in wet weather. I cook in the extension & it's big enough for 2 people to sit in comfortably & again allows lots of light in. However we have found it tricky to put up & recently the material tore slightly on one of the sleeves. The extension is trickier to put up than the rent. It looks good once it is up & is very sturdy in strong wind & rain. Overall a good buy.

After purchasing this tent earlier this year and using it for the first time Begining of August. The tent itself was fantastic. The only down side was the PLASTIC pegs that came with it, Which tend to bend or split even in soft ground. I have taken this up with Outwell and received a reply which read 'Dear Darin, thank you for your e-mail.Unfortunately we always recommend that you use pegs that are suited to the place you take your holidays. That is also why you will find the pegs are weak as they are not made for anything other than soft luxury camping grounds. We wish you a nice day'. I think this is a pretty poor excuse on Outwell's behalf as I have already said the tent is a 10 out of 10. Only being let down badly by the pegs. Come on Outwell sort this out.

We have used this tent for a couple of years and have had no problems. It is roomy for 2 adults and 2 children. We have purchased the extension and porch giving us plenty of room to sit and cook when the weather is not so good.
The footprint is also a useful purchase to keep the base of the tent clean and aids in packing up.
The tent is easy to pitch and I have completed this on my own.
Overall we are very pleased with the tent.

I bought this after reading lots of reviews of lots of tents and after it's first outing am very pleased.
Firstly it comes in a surprisingly large bag which is quite heavy, but I got over my surprise and will keep the poles separate in future to help with the weight thing.
I am a single mother with 2 children age 8 and 10, and wanted:
1. Bedrooms side-by-side as we all got restless/uneasy being opposite sides of the old tent
2. Easy to put up and down for 1 adult with a little bit of child-help!
3. High enough to stand as stooping does my back in
4. Good-sized living space for yukky weather
This tent delivers on all these:
2. I put the tent up for the first time on holiday, having watched YouTube clips and having a mental plan. I pegged out the corners first then did the poles. Took a bit of a heave, could have done with a breeze to help!, but really do-able with 1 adult and 2 children just standing with their feet up against the pole on the other side whilst I put it in the key-thing (sorry the right words are evading me today)
4. Living space exceeded expectation, it was a bit tardis-like in that it seemed much bigger inside than expected, and than it appears.
Also:
- 10 or so pockets inside, really handy for stuff, I had one for matches, sun lotion, plastic bags, first aid kit.
- built-in groundsheet, good at keeping draughts, rain and spiders out
- bug-nets handy on the doors
- guy ropes and pegs nice and bright
- 3 doors, good for creating draughts and letting in light or blocking it as the sun moves round
- 1 door has a shelter over it, useful for the rain
- it went down pretty easily too and rolled into the bag fine
I'm not sure about.
- the plastic pegs. Nice and light I guess, but just not sure.
- the 'wind system', which is extra velcro wrapping around the poles. I found a few bugs in them when taking the tent down and what appeared to be the beginnings of a cocoon thing.
- is it my imagination or are there just LOADS of guy ropes?
- the tent was tied up in a bow in the bag, more like a gift set of towels! straps with adjusters would make MUCH more sense
- similar with the peg and pole bags, they would be better with traditional tightening woggly thingies (sorry again) instead of just loose string.
All-in-all, a good solid tent which I can put up and take down without too much stress and quite quickly and really good space inside.

We visited Go Outdoors many times looking inside all the tents and finally settled on the Nevada M. One of the reasons for this was that on the last visit it was a scorching day, lovely bright sunshine but each of the cheaper tents we went into felt so hot we were sweating within seconds of entering, but the Outwell kept its cool.
We found a local campsite and took it down for its first outing last weekend and are very happy with our purchase. Not long after getting the groundsheet pinned out and laying out the tent we had a downpour, so we ran back into the car and waited for the rain to ease. Whilst there we had a look on You Tube via a mobile phone to watch an Outwell video of a chap pitching the tent to make the process that bit smoother.
Soon enough we were back to it. It was very easy for 2 people to put up, the colour coded poles were great. But I think having watched the video really helped us as we'd not have known otherwise to only beg in the back of the tent and pull all of it forward once all the poles were in to take its shape. This might be inexperience on our part, but that knowledge helped a great deal.
Once up we realised that rain had gotten in whilst it was laid out flat, which is not an Outwell fault, but again a result of our inexperience, we should have persevered and got wet ourselves so that rain couldn't have gotten in through the ventilation areas.
We mopped up the rain and we were off. It rained a lot more overnight but not a drop was found inside the tent in the morning.
Lots of room in the bedroom for a double airbed, the spare room acted as a great storage area leaving the main living area feeling very spacious, even with a table and 2 chairs in there. We bought the carpet and this gave a feeling of luxury underfoot and is a great buy.
Because of the rain we had to time our BBQ and so I think i'll be buying the extension soon to allow us that sheltered outdoor space for wet/ windy weather.
All in all, this is a great tent, and it's definitely worthwhile paying that bit more for the quality you get with an Outwell compared with 'high street' brands.

Please refer to my previous post regarding 2011 nevada. As mentioned tent replaced from retailer. This time we have spent five days at ullswater and the tent stood up to some strong wind and quite a lot of rain. No leaks whatsoever . This what I expect from Outwell not the faulty previous tent (my opinion).

I bought this in the sales, and got it for £250 including a carpet. I had wanted a tent with more openings (to let air blow through) and a SIG (to stop rain coming in) and this seemed to fit the brief of having both, plus a larger living/storage area.
We had tested putting it up in the garden and thought it was horrendous compared to our old dome tent, but then we discovered 2 things that made it easier: (1) you let out the tension where you put the pole ends onto the pins, then tighten them up after pitching, and (2) watch the 1-man video on YouTube, where he puts it up on his own by pegging out all 4 corners then putting the poles in & lifting them 1 at a time, outside in (opposed to Outwell’s way of ‘walking it out’ from one end). Sorry if all of this sounds detailed and/or obvious, but it made our first campsite putting-up a lot easier, and so I thought I’d pass it on.
Once up, there is lots of room in the main dome, good head height in the bedrooms and lots of windows and doors to let in sunshine and air. It rained monsoon-levels for 6 hours and we were impressed by no leaks and the sturdiness of the unit. I agree that the door design means you can get drips into the tent when you open the main doors after rain, but if you use the side door (with rain porch already attached) it’s fine. Both the main door and one on the side can be used as porches – big enough for 2 to sit under in torrential rain and stay dry.
My only negative is that the inside of the bedrooms are bright, using very light-coloured material, and there is minimal ventilation, so you would probably need to zip the bedroom doors half down in very hot weather. As a couple with lots of ‘stuff’ (and a visiting child staying over) the mix of large main area and lots doors for easy access means I’d still recommend this tent over many others I’ve seen.

Just attempted to put up our new Nevada m in the garden for its maiden voyage and thought I'd manage on my own as others have said they had and the videos from Yeomans and another on youtube demonstrate a solo pitch. First attempt to raise front section caused a pole to split! Very, very disappointed :(
Would definitely not attempt that again but as my husband doesn't keep too well it was one of the things that drew me to this particular tent - the idea I could pt it up on my own.

I want to add this comment because I think it is important to know! I wake up too early in the morning on every holiday morning sleeping in this tent because of the immense sea of light in the sleeping cabin. For some stupid reason (design I guess) Outwell decided to make the sleeping part of the tent of a WHITE fabric. This is really a very bad choice in the design. With the white fabric changed into the mocca colour it would be the best tent ever. Helas its not. Please be aware of this! The very light sleeping cabin can ruin your holiday! I have used this tent for 2 years now. (excuse my English I'm dutch)

First time using this tent, it is so easy to erect with colour coded poles and pole slots. We also have the front extension.
We had two weeks in Brittany (June 2012), and boy did we get some rain, nine out of fourteen days saw rain, and not just the odd half hour spell, 12 to 18 hours at a time.
This was a great test, not just for our resolve, but for the tent, which was faultless. Withstood all the rain France could chuck it's way. The only negative I would give it, is the join between the tent and extension where the rain came in if the wind was that way.

June 2012 - In sum: very pleased with this tent. We wanted a large tent for 2 oldies to stand up in, easy to erect. We have just 'stress -tested' it in 2 very wet weeks in France and it stood up really well - just some minor condensation after hours of rain. We could sit, eat and live in it and still have space for bags and beds etc. Excellent.

I've read the review by Davesaat and just want to add that 40mph winds are classed as gale force winds.
If the wind was gusty then it could have been possible that winds were gusting to severe gales (41-47mph) or possibly even storm force (55-63mph) but this is speculation. However if such gust were blowing this would have taken the tent to the extreme of its testing (in ideal conditions) and beyond.
Can I also add the forum has been littered with posts of various tents collapsing in the past couple of weeks due to wind conditions. I just want to add a balanced view

We originally had a 8-man Khyam tent, but when it had to be returned under warranty, our retailer offered us the opportunity to get something else. As it was on sale at the time, we decided to get the Nevada M.
The build quality seemed good, however there are definitely some niggles:
1 - Every time I pitched it, I could not get the bedroom inner to remain separate from the outer flysheet. The flysheet itself seems very long, which causes it to be very flappy in the wind, and touch the inner bedroom pod. I've spoken to owners of Outwell tents at the sites I've stayed at, and this seems to be a common problem with other Outwells if the ground isn't perfectly flat.
2 - Initially, the living area seemed large enough, however when it rained, everything had to come inside (eg table and 3 chairs) and it became cramped, particularly as the corners are cut off by the main entrance to make the living space non-square.
3 - It does not stand up very well to wind. I pegged it out using Deltas where I could on the main guys, but as soon as the wind changed direction (which it does on a regular basis in this country), the tent had no stability whatsoever. Our previous Khyam Quebec 8XC was better in the wind.
This resulted in me needing to abandon my holiday and return the tent when it blew down in 40mph winds (so much for a Force 9 wind rating). The overall build quality was good, so I've not been put off from getting another Outwell, however I wont be getting a Nevada M again as the living space is just too small when in the wind and rain.

Purchased in April for a bargain of £199 ,price match from Go Outdoors. This tent is everything it says on the can. Easy to put up, quality material, quality poles and light and airy to sit in.
Stood up to a very breezy weekend in the Yorkshire Dales this weekend. First date we have been able to try it out because of the weather.
We have purchased the carpet and awning (review on separate thread.

We purchased this tent as a quick to erect weekend tent, and we were not disappointed.
Having watched a video on You Tube of one man putting up this tent in 5 minutes, we gave it a go. No running around for us OAPs though, working together we had the tent erected in 6 minutes - result!
I've even took it camping last December on my motorcycle, (it's a big bike - Pan European). The benefit of not having to crawl in & out of a 2 man tent, made the trip a pleasure, even when the temperature was down to -10!

This was my new Nevada M's first outing. Only the second time it's been pitched. It lived up to my expectations.
I just loved the windows, which gave panoramic views, in turn very bright and airy. I wanted something which gave me lots of space in the living area, which it did. There were only the two of us plus the dog. DS gave approval of the bedrooms which is 3+2. I had a double bed in my larger room; the only draw back, another single bed may just fit, leaving no room for belongings. DS had the smaller room he had his single bed plus the dog. He liked the zipped divider, it gave him proper privacy, but can also be unzipped to make one big bedroom, or just be removed completely. The extra pockets in the living were a great addition. Which my other tent didn't have.
The overhang canopy on the side door was a blessing. No nasty drips down ones neck, thumbs up. I didn't purchase the proper carpet, but loved the one I did buy, made it extra cozy. For a footprint, just used an oversized tarp sheet, fitted great. Tent stayed dry when it rained nothing came through, Which was a luxury not having to worry, as it has a sig. The underside stayed clean with having the tarp protecting it.
I didn't use the pegs which came with the tent; only because the sort of ground the site is on, very rocky and can be hard. Used my rock pegs. No problem. Did like the high visible guylines, cannot miss them.
I was able to pitch the tent on my own first time around. The second time, I was very tired after being in the car for a very long time, and just need a little bit of assistance from DS. Would I be able to pitch the tent in windy conditions, without assistance, I don't know, however it is a very easy straightforward tent to pitch, especially for two people, doable with one. For convenience and the tent is heavy; I have separated the inner bedrooms and poles, When packing a way.
On the whole we all loved the tent, including my OH who came to visit, still plenty of space.
I am looking forward to my next trip in my new purchase.

We have just returned from our first trip in this tent and have been very impressed. We bought at a fantastic price from go outdoors on their price guarantee who matched a deal on Amazon making the tent less than half rrp. We previously owned an Outwell 4 berth pop up and while taking longer to pitch (approx 30 mins including guys) it at least did not provide such a spectacle as collapsing the pop up! The Nevada M appears to be well made and a decent size with plenty of living space and storage for bags without leaving everything in the back of the car as with the pop up. There was little rain or extreme weather, however the tent stood up well to small amounts of rain, hail and wind. We got the carpet and groundsheet to match the tent and this was a welcome luxury in the cold weather. Cleaning the groundsheet at home was much simpler than having to clean the whole underside of the tent and repack it again.

On the whole there are not a lot of differences between the 2011 models and the 2012 I was told its colour trims etc.
I am pleased overall with the tent it’s very easy and quick to erect, it only took us about 15 minutes and this is our first outing with it, not bad for a couple of over 60s, ha ha.
The front space is adequate and the tent material is excellent quality it did get quite windy at one point and it stood up to it well. The quality and design are quite good, however there are some points that need attention before it gets ten out of ten. I speak with 57 years of camping experience and the amount of ventilation in this tent is way over the top and is the source of cold drafts. Even ignoring that the system of door closing is far from good there is no way of keeping the bottom of the doors from gaping open three short pieces of Velcro are not up to the job and no way of fastening them from the inside. This leads to more draft no good on windy cold evenings. There is also no effective way of fully closing the door and sealing it all round thus leaving the bottom of the door to flap in the wind. Some instructions would help there are loops and fasteners that I have no idea what they are for.
Its a shame these points were not ironed out before production as they spoil an otherwise great tent

Firstly we had a Carolina M, which we loved, unfortunately, it had a manufacturing defect, and we took it back. Go Outdoors did not have another one, and refunded us, and we ended up by the Nevada M for £197.50 using their price match promise (making it £2.50 less than we paid for the Carolina.
We have not fallen in love with this tent yet, but we have not used it as much, I am sure we will, but it is a very good tent. Reasonably simple to put up (the first time by in darkness illuminated by Headlights. With a couple more attempts to familiarise ourselves with it, we will be able to set up as quickly as we did with the Carolina M.
Very Spacious tent, which meets are need fully, there is only 2 of us, we use the 3 Berth bedroom, to sleep in, the 2 berth Bedroom as a Walk in Wardrobe / Store Room.
In the Leaving room we have a 4 Seat table, 2 Patio Chairs, and Fridge, which all fits in with out being to cramped.
The windows are good, and let in plenty of light, and whilst I like the idea of the storm porch over one of the doors, it is just to Low - I am 6'3'.
We have used our Carolina M Carpet, Which is a good approximation, without us having to go to the expense of buying a specific one for this tent. The Footprint we made from a B&Q groundsheet, Mainly because No one had one in stock, at a competitive price.
We have also bought the Extension, which as other people have stated, is fiddly to put up, particularly the first time, hopefully next time it will be easier. This makes a significant amount of extra space available, which we have our Kitchen set up in.
The extension, for me, Works as a far better storm gaurd over the door, than the side door, and we will probably never use the side door with the storm porch on it.
The reason I have only given it a 9 is that I have not fallen in love with it.Yet, Its a great tent, but there is something that hasn't grabbed my heart. It may be that the first one was faulty, (it did not have any way of connecting the storm porch to the tent amongst other issues) has made me a little more apprehensive.
I do like it a lot. Later in the season, I will probably upgrade my view to a 10.

I spent quite a while researching tents and originally bought a Vango but the fact that there were hardly any windows made it very dark and I felt very isolated as im a lady camping on her own with 2 dogs.
The day after I returned from my first trip with my Vango I sold it on a well known auction site then proceeded to research similar sized tents which had a lot more windows.
On a trip to my local Water World I found the Nevada M and fell in love straight away, I also bought the footprint but not the carpet because I didnt fancy the dogs bringing in mud! . I took and used old sheets which just go straight in the washer when I get back!
Overall I rate this tent very highly, plenty of space and loads of light, this tent has in total 5 big windows which 3 of them are doors with nets and all 5 have sewn in curtains.
I have plenty of gear, larder/cooker stand, storage units, tables, chairs, loo and a double blow up bed and there is still loads of space.
The nets on the doors are great especially when you have a swarm of wasps and midges to contend with and the side door with the porch over it certainly does its job which means you can still have the door open in the rain and not a drop comes in. If its raining don't use the other doors because when you unzip them water runs in from both the door and the roof . Hence the porch!
I had 4 trips away from June to Aug Bank holiday of between 2-3 weeks at a time and when you look at how many seams the tent has I havnt had 1 leak, to me that says a quality product. I did have some quite heavy rain and wind for a couple of days. The site faces the sea so it really gets the full force of the weather and as I prefer to pitch for the super view I did get the worst of the weather and the tent hardly moved an inch!
My tent also has the plastic pegs and because id read the comments on here id started looking for new pegs before id even tried the plastic ones but id not got round to purchasing any before my first break but to be honest im really pleased with them so wont be spending more money on something I don't think I really need. They went in and came out really well but I hammer in a metal peg first to make my required hole then put in the plastic peg which goes straight in with no problems, I did buy a really heavy mallet though. Having said that I did find when it came to packing up there were a few which werent quite as straight as they could have been but non resembled anything like a corkscrew as one reviewer experienced.
As im a bit of a 'clean freak' I decided because I wasnt rushing home I would wash my pegs before I left so I boiled the kettle and soaked them in really hot soapy water which I found made them quite pliable meaning I could bend and straighten them out quite easily, so to be honest I am very happy with both the tent and the pegs.
It is quite a heavy tent as someone else said previously so I tend to split the tent up because everything has its own bag. Tent, pegs and poles and the heaviest bag seems to be the poles by far so be warned! Splitting it this way meant I could handle it a lot better plus packing the car was easier too.
I agree about it would be more convenient if there were clips or something equally as good for the centre light cable but I took some of plastic cable ties which tighten and used them where possible.
Definately a tent to more than consider but shop around on line as prices do vary and some retailers do offer a price match providing you can prove it can be purchased elsewhere at that time at a cheaper price, every £ helps when your starting out in camping, im still finding things id like and I really thought id got everything I needed!
Happy camping and just ENJOY THE RELAXATION a camping holiday gives you!

We bought this test last year as a weekend tent to save using the big one all the time. It has just had it's first outing after sitting in the cupboard for a year! We count our blessings as this tent is absolutely perfect for our needs, we are 2 adults and 3 dogs - plenty of room in the large bedroom, living area is very spacious, easily enough room to eat if the weather is bad. A doddle to put up (40 minutes - 2 short women!). We also have the front extension - a must have in poor weather, but I shall leave my review about this under the relevant section. The rain came down heavily on Sunday morning, the inside stayed completely dry - quality at it's best. Reason for 9? The zips on the doors - kept tripping over them coming in and out, just a case of getting used to them really. I would recommend this tent to couples easily or family of 4, any more may be a squeeze. Can't wait to use it again.

Love this tent. Replaced our Easycamp Napoli for this which is similar size but pitches all in one. Got a carpet to fit (not the right one - ours is for a Mojave tent). Recently purchased the extension to allow for outdoors cooking with toddler now in tow.
Easy to get up and down, goes back in the bag first time once you have got the hand of folding it. Pegs are ok but bend easily, stay in the ground well though even in sandy soil with gale force winds. Tent held up very well in 20-30mph gales, only one pole section split but was easily replaced with the spare once home. No damage to rest of tent.
Big enough to be comfortable even in the wet, small enough to pack away quickly and fit in tight pitches. Love the amount of light when all the front curtains are open, its like a conservatory. Plenty of room for 2 adults, toddler and dog. We have a double airbed in the larger pod and a kampa toddler bed in the smaller with plenty of storage room around the edges.
Never had any issues with tent and would definitely buy again. Now just want to find a kids room to fit it and it will be perfect.

First off, it's a surprisingly big bag for a 5 person tent - the same size bag as an 8 person Coleman tent I have. If you're looking to buy something small to transport, consider this carefully! Especially, once you add the additional bag for the porch and carpet, if you opt for those (more on that later!).
The tent is quite straight forward to erect for two people (you'd struggle on your own) and pitches in one go, i.E. Not inner first. There are just three poles to slide in and bend into shape before clipping the lower sections of the tent onto it - it's a nice design with some neat touches like velco straps to hold the (luminous yellow) guy ropes neatly in place until needed. The tent comes with plenty of large plastic pegs which i've found to be quite strong, although i'd always advise you to carry some rock pegs. The side entrance has a brow pole which seems a little tight against the tent but use has shown that it works fine after it's been used a few times. There is an additional central pole in the living area but it fits well and provides a useful place to hang torches etc.
The windows are big and made of very nice clear plastic. Curtains are integral to keep the light out and there are nice pop out vents on all corners for a bit of air circulation. It goes without saying but all of the doors and mosquito nets can be rolled up together or individually.
The side entrance mentioned earlier is a nice addition if you'd rather keep the big front entrance closed up in bad weather.
It's a sewn inn groundsheet (SIG), so very waterproof and bug proof, even if you wanted to sleep in the living area.
The bedroom area is plenty big enough for 4 people, but 5 would be very tight, especially if all adults. We use three standard size single airbeds and a larger 'Kampa' childrens airbed which has sides to stop the child falling out and all 4 fit snugly together. The bedroom area has a detachable screen to separate the bedroom into two if needed.
The living area is a very good size - certainly capable of fitting a folding table and chairs if you needed to eat indoors. There is also an excellent hanging storage unit included which contains about 12 good size pockets for all your mobile phones, keys, torches etc. A really nice touch.
There's a zip providing a convenient access for an electrical hook up (EHU) cable too.
The tent has completely proven itself in bad weather. We were using it near the August 2011 Bournemouth flash floods in 24 hours of torrential rain and we had literally no water in the tent. Very impressive.
In addition to the tent, we have the fitted groundsheet, carpet and canopy so a little on those too.
The groundsheet is a no brainer. It helps you to position the tent before you actually put it up, protects the bottom of the tent and provides a clean place to pack it all away afterwards. I'd always have one.
The canopy, for us, is essential these days. It allows you to cook under shelter even in the pouring rain, without any danger of setting your tent alight or stinking it up with cooking smells! It also means that you can keep the big main entrance open even in bad weather. Totally recommended. The porch has two poles and is a little fiddly to put up, especially if its windy (becomes a 3 person job!) but once up and clipped to the tent it's very stable. The sides go right to the ground, with wind and water proof flaps at the bottom for complete protection from the elements. Additionally, we've found that you can route the centre tent guy rope (which you don't need with the canopy) across the top of the canopy and it makes a perfect clothes line!
The carpet is a luxury which many (including myself) used to think was a complete waste, although many people already use a number of picnic blankets to make their tents more cosy! The Nevada carpet folds down pretty small yet fits the whole of the living area and provides an excellent quality and beautifully cosy surface to step out onto in the morning. It may be on the 'glamping' side of camping, but i'm now sold on one!
Brilliant tent, especially if you can get the package deal for a good price too. Well recommended.

We have just got back from a 3 night break in the new forest. This was our first outing with the Nevada m as we purchased it the week before. We also purchased the footprint & the carpet. We spent a good while researching what tent to buy. Then narrowed it down to a couple. Once we started to view the tents at shops the quality of Outwell was apparent from other manufacturers.
The tent is absolutely superb.
When we arrived at the site it was raining. We started to erect the tent & about half way through the heavens opened up on us. We continued to pitch the tent which we did in about 30 minutes. We were soaked to the bone. The tent had no leaks whatsoever!
It is an ideal size for myself, partner & our 2 dogs. The tent is very sturdy & is simple to erect & dismantle. This is the 2011 model & does have clips for secure fixing of a light cable.
I will be purchasing some better pegs though as I damaged 3 on this outing. This may be down to me being heavy handed though??
I will certainly be purchasing the porch extension soon & cannot wait to go away again in this wonderful tent.
So pleased that we chose to purchase the Nevada M

We bought a Nevada M with carpet and footprint last year in time for an Easter break in Ullswater and it had a baptism of fire, or should I say snow! We've added the front extension since and it has served us well in storms and high winds as well as in better weather.
It's a big tent for a couple but I have some low-level mobility issues and so benefit from plenty of space and a spare bedroom for a camping loo and luggage. For the same reason, it's essential for a tent to be easy enough for me to help my husband to put up and take down and the Nevada M couldn't be easier. We often camp with friends and there is plenty of space for guests to come and eat in the living space and awning.
We have just replaced some guy ropes and pole cord that were showing signs of wear and look forward to many more happy holidays.

Bought Nevada M in August 2010 . Went away for weekend break to Scarborough. Tent had everything myself ,partner and 2 kids needed. No probs. Went away this July to Ullswater, nightmare, the tent leaked in seven places, not just drips here and there. Had to cut short holiday. Tried seamsealer, didn't help. It was two weeks out of warranty, however the assistant manager at go outdoors( west denton) Newcastle couldn't have been more helpful. Exchanged for a 2011 model with full years guarantee. I wouldn't have got another Outwell nevada but we had bought footprint groundsheet , carpet . Will see how the replacement tent turns out watch this space. Must stress the rain we had was not heavy but on and off light to moderate .

Being a relative newcomer to Camping and having borrowed one of these Tents after a bad experience from another manufacturer,we decided to buy a Nevada M and couldn't be more pleased. On its first outing and on a couple of other occasions,it has taken a real battering without any problems at all. Simply a great Tent, especially with the front extension. As for standing room,im 6'3 and can stand up with plenty to spare. As others have said, the only issue are the plastic pegs, a bit puzzling why these are supplied on such a good, quick to erect Tent.

A superb tent!
This tent has by-far exceeded our expectations! We purchased the tent, front extension, matching Outwell wind break and carpet for a 2 week trip to Cornwall. We have since used it 3 times and are seriously impressed!
For starters, the tent really does look the business! It's big, and with the front extension, it dominated our campsite! There is loads of room to stand up in it, and when it's raining, you can zip yourself in with a table and 4-6 chairs and still be comfortable. The extension is a must in my opinion. It allows for cooking and relaxing whilst undercover.
The biggest difference between this and my old tent, other than the size, is that the Nevada M has a built in ground sheet, so when you're in, you're in, and the creepy crawlies are out! It makes the tent feel so much warmer and comfortable, especially with the carpet.
An brilliant tent! I can't recommend enough!

I can't believe how much I love this tent. We are seasoned campers, attending dog agility and flyball shows most weekends in our lovely British weather (don't think we have had a dry weekend yet!) This weekend was our first outing with this tent and boy did it get tested, we had sunshine, rain, thunder and lightning and everything was fine, we also purchased the carpet which is lovely, however I am not too sure how clean it will stay with 2 Rottweilers, but I would definitely recommend this tent to anyone, it was more than spacey for me, my partner and the 2 Rotties - I loved it! I can't wait for the next weekend away!

This is a great tent, easy to put up, and pack away. The design has been really thought about. The front section is great on those hot days where you can open up all sides of the compartment to get some air through.
I gave it 9/10 because it seemed a big weighty for me but other than that all is good. Oh and remember to buy a mallet when you purchase this tent Because our version came with fat lumo plastic pegs.

Picked up this second-hand on ebay and have made 5 trips in it already in less than 3 months. For those still crouching and stooping in smaller, lighter tents - STOP! See the light!
It goes up in less than 30 minutes and is spacious, light and well-ventilated. If you get the front extension too (I would recommend this plus the fitted carpet and footprint groundsheet), there is easily enough room for 10 people in chairs plus tables to shelter from the elements.Particularly good if your camping buddies are still in the 'crouching and stooping' phase. ;-)
When it's hot, the front extension allows you to leave just the mosquito net down overnight for added ventilation.
The panoramic windows make it bright when the weather is less than sunny. But you can still block it out with the built in curtains if you don't want to be woken too early.
This is my first experience in the world of 'stand up' camping but I think it has been brilliantly designed and would recommend it to anyone from couples to families with 2 (older) or 3 (younger) kids.

I was in the market for a larger tent as the 3 man tunnel that I had didn't allow me to stand up in it and I was sick & tired of a wet back when I left the tent of a morning after running it along the roof & get soaked in condensation.
Anyway I'd looked around for ages when I saw a Nevada M on a site that I was camping at this year. I got talking to the owner & had a little look round. When I got home I got on the web and got one for £229.00 inc vat & delivery from Blacks with a discount code. Bargain! The foot print was an extra that I thought worth buying as well but I didn't think the carpet was what I needed so left that out.
I used the tent for the first time this weekend and I'm more or less impressed with how it worked out. The size allowed 3 adults plenty of space to sit inside for a drink and a game of cards. The foot print allowed the main tent to stay clean so was easier to put away at the end of the weekend.
The tent took me about an hour to pitch but I expect to get that down with practice. As I say there was loads of room in the 2 bedrooms as well as the living area.
The only problem I have/had with it is the pegs. The plastic pegs are just not up to the job. I've just lost 10 pegs on its first trip. Some have the heads bent double and some came out of the ground like cork screws. Luckily I'd taken the precaution to take some sturdier metal pegs just in case. I'll go out this week and replace all of the Outwell pegs with something more up to the job.
So would I recommend it - Yes but get some better pegs.

Fantastic. So versatile and with a fair amount of space inside it's perfect for a small family and a couple of dogs.
It's very easy to put up and take down and feels sturdy. It feels fully weatherproof and I like having so many windowed areas at the front,-this gives the tent an airy feel.
The pockets are useful and there's also a zip to put a power lead through. With the optional carpet it adds an extra homely feel too.

Myself and my partner wanted a tent that would give us space for us and our dog no matter the weather so after carefully reading the reviews on this site We found this one fitted the bill wonderfully. After watching the videos on youtube we put the tent up in the garden in 30 mins which wasnt bad for our first attempt. Then we went for our first trip up north and pitched the tent up in under 20 minutes in a mild wind.
We had also bought the carpet, footprint and extension which I would recommend to anyone as it rained a little but warm so with the extension we could still sit outside. On the second day the wind had picked up quite a lot and the tent barley moved. The tent is overall sturdy spacious and comfortable to be in. It lost a star as although there is a zip on side to bring electrical hook up into tent it would be nice to have clips running up side of tent to where the lamp hole was for wired lights. Apart from that I couldn't fault this tent. More trips planned already.

Myself, my partner and 2 year old daughter went on our first camping trip with our new Nevada M Tent. I have to admit that this is a great tent in all departments. It looked great on the campsite very good looking and was nice and bright inside the tent due to the large windows which can be covered fully or half covered.
It was so easy to put up, it took us about 45mins to an hour and that was with our little one trying her best to help out (getting in the way).
We went to the cotswolds farm park and had very hard rain for a few hours but there were no problems with the tent.
I'm very happy we purchased this tent, we got it from Dobbies for £220 and we're very happy with it. If your thinking of buying a tent and don't know which one to purchase then go for this because it is well worth it!

We got out Outwell Nevada M tent, Extension, Footprint and Carpet at the Boxing Day sale from Gooutdoors for £150 and it is one of the best bargains I have ever got. This tent is so spacious with or without the extension. I love it. I have only given it 9/10 as it is not as stable as my Caroline S which doesn't budge an inch in strong wind. This tent did move, but not dramatically and we were recently in the Mendip Hills, Somerset in strong winds. I would recommend this tent to anyone, two adults have plenty of room and although five people would be a squeeze two adults and two children would be fine. I cannot fault Outwell for their design and quality.

How I love this tent! we bought it for our son but have commandeered it. It is so easy to put up, our previous beloved Lichfield 8 - though roomy took a long time to get pitched and weatherproof, this one is up and fully functional in an hour. It is cosy, we have the carpet, has good accessories with integral groundsheet and pockets. We have a full camp kitchen and still have plenty of room for 4 of us to sit with a large table, and a small table and 3 dogs. Easy to put up and down and put in the tent bag. We also have the porch which is perfect for sunny and wet days.

Overall we were happy with the tent, especially as it stood up well to a very windy Cornish coast week. However, we were disappointed when we noticed regular spots of water dripping from the centre of the tent, and on investigation found the velcro support for the internal ridge pole had come away slightly on the seam. We have will be returning the tent to Go Outdoors and will report back on how the defect was handled.
On the positive side, the tent offers good light through the windows, good height for comfort (I am 6'2') and excellent thought out storage with side pockets in the sleeping pods and a vertically hung pocket system.
Pitching the tent was straight forward and we were up and running within an hour, including pitching the extension, fitting the footprint and carpet; all very good additions (although the extension later failed).
Assuming the tent defect is a rare Outwell blip, we were happy with it.

We have just purchased the nevada M as our introduction to camping. We exhausted reviews on the internet to help us make our decision and we were not disappointed.
We are just back from our first camping trip and found it easy enough to pich, 30 mins in the rain, but I guess we will get quicker as time goes on. All the features that have been added to the tent are good, its well made and we had 18 hours of constant rain with a bit of wind too, it held up extremely well. We had a small amount of condensation but this was probably due to it being very wet.
Its got loads of room for 2 adults using the ex bedroom as storage. Good views all round owing to the large windows. Mesh curtains brilliant for keeping earwigs and mossies out.
We managed to pitch with the pegs that were supplied, but as with other posts, they let the tent down easily bending. We are now replacing them with better pegs.
Bought at a fantastic price on Millets website as a package with the footprint and carpet, managed to get an extra coupon too for money off. Only need to buy the extension now as this would have been helpful to us in the rain.

Well, what can I say that hasn't been said already?!
Tent is spacious, airy and light. We are just a couple (plus a dog) and it was ideal for us. We used one bedroom for sleeping and the other for storage (and the Kampa Khazi!)
I wonder if some of the negative reviews are because it was pitched using the manufacturers supplied pegs. IMO, you need to bin them and use decent pegs for the peg-down points and deltas for the guy-ropes. The supplied plastic pegs bent very easily and the ground wasn't all that hard! This is the only reason I've given it a 9.If the pegs were better it would be a 10. The metal V pegs supplied for the corners are ok though.
All in all, a fantastic tent.

Bought this in May 2011. It is our first ever tent and our first time camping. I did more research than is probably healthy for a person - before narrowing it down to the Outwell Nevada M. All my newbie camper worries have now been blown away by this fab fab fab tent.
It's so easy to pitch with the help of the video tutorial - we had no pitching arguments at all! For us this is an achievement in itself. I would buy some spare metal tent pegs tho as some of these are plastic which bent under heavy malletting. Packing away is a doddle too (tho not done it in rain yet). The guy ropes glow well in the dark and even my 5 year old never tripped up. The cat tried to get in while we were sleeping and the tent resisted some annoyed clawing (tho it didn't keep out her loud miaowing unfortunately.)
Plenty big for us (2 adults, 2 kids) nice to have options to separate bedrooms or have one big bedroom. Could get another small person in to sleep but 4 people comfier, more room for books, torches etc by side of beds. Loads of pockets everywhere which keeps it clutter free.
We had a bit of wind and the tent held OK tho it did move - this is normal I presume? So many guy ropes and not a single peg came up. Ground was fairly hard. Air circulation inside was great due to 3 door options. Mozzie nets everywhere, lots of options with windows. Everything ties up neatly when you're not using it, they really have thought of everything. No drafts when you've got it all closed up, v cosy. Great views all round as you've got so many doors and windows. Light levels inside are natural due to beige colour of tent.
Don't know if I was going to fall in love with camping anyway but I'm sure this tent has helped.
Did not go for Outwell ground sheet and carpet, got cheaper equivalents from Halfords which fit fine.

Really happy with this tent. It's so quick and easy to put up and the living area is bright and spacious.
Ideal for use on longer trips and perfect when the weather turns grey and wet as the clear plastic windows and tent colour allow maximum light to come through and the living area is spacious enough to sit and relax in.
As there is only two of us, it means we can use the 2nd sleeping area for storage. Can't comment on how it would be with more than two of us though but I'm sure, with a little bit of thought and good housekeeping it would be fine!
One of the best tents we've ever owned. Highly recommended!

We purchased our Nevada M at the end of last season and got a good deal with price matching at GO Outdoors. We have just got back from our 4th trip with this tent.
We are a family of 4 (2 adults, a 5 year old and 3 year old). We leave the sleep pod unzipped to make one large sleeping area which comfortably accommodates a double airbed and 2 single airbeds for the kids. There is no way you would fit 5 people in there!
The tent is quick and easy to pitch (takes us about 20 minutes) and is easy to take down and fits back into the bag without any hassle. The porch pole is a tight fit and tricky to get in - hubby does it no problem but I really struggle! There is enough space inside to accommodate a camp cupboard, cool box, table and 4 chairs.
I particularly like the light airy colour of the tent and the large windows give a great panoramic view if required. The tent is a good height too and we found that the sleeping pods were higher compared to our friends Vango tent of a similar spec.
We camped in 40km side on winds and had no issue with tent stability. Obviously, the tent sides did move slightly with the gusts but the tent was stable. The pole that you put inside the living compartment of the tent really does aid stability (so don't forget to put it in!). We also used delta pegs on the guy ropes which gave good anchorage and are solid as a rock (would not go anywhere without delta pegs now!).
We did have an issue with condensation on our first few outings, but discovered that was due to the fact that we did not have all the vents open. You really do need unzip and peg out the vent at the back of the tent back the sleep compartments - we have had no issue since.
We managed to break a tent pole the first time we camped when pitching the tent (due to our inexperience and bending the poles up too far I think!). We now make sure we carry a couple of spare poles, bungee cord and a threader just in case! We have had no issue since.
We invested in the footprint, which really does protect the bottom of the tent from muck. The carpet gives an extra layer of insulation, is comfortable underfoot and gives the tent a cosy feel. The front extension is essential for us as it provides space to store the kitchen stand, BBQ, table and chairs as well as provide shelter in windy or wet conditions when you want to sit outside. I was a little worried how the extension would cope in the wind, but it was fine with the breezes we experienced (but I could see in strong wind you wind need to take it down).
All in all a great little tent to accommodate 4 people comfortably, quick to pitch and ideal for shorter camping trips. We love ours!

Read some of the other reviews & I too pitched up the tent in a strong side on wind onto the side rain door & pegs were being uprooted which then caused the poles, side of tent to bend in. This is not a design fault, it is much more to do with the type of ground & the pegs you use. We had to purchase long sand spikes & then had no issues as the guy ropes held fine. The plastic pegs are a good all-rounder but don't expect to be able to use them for all conditions both weather & ground. Rocky ground needs rock pegs, sandy ground needs sand pegs, etc. Outwell cannot be expected to supply them all.
Tent nice & roomy. Have got the front canopy which is a great area to cook & sit in, especially in poor weather. Carpet makes it much more comfortable & warmer. Footprint offers a little protection & insulation. A fantastic tent come rain or shine, easy to pitch & pack away with ample room for 2 adults & 2 kids plus dog even without canopy. Took a battering recently at Shell Island in 40mph + gusts & no damage what-so-ever when other tents on the site were being ripped to shreds including my mates Vango.

We purchased this tent after seeing our friends Nevada M as we wanted a quick pitch tent.
We purchased tent, footprint, carpet and front extension.
Tent is fairly quick to pitch, getting quicker to pitch each time we use it!
Plenty of space in the tent and nice airy and the carpet gives a little bit of luxury.
We used the tent at Easter in glorious weather and the tent didn't get to hot. We camped again this weekend and the weather was dire, high winds and heavy rain, and the Nevada didn't budge an inch. With the bad weather the extension was a god send.
The Nevada has certainly proved itself, can't think of anything bad to say about it. Just looking forward to lots more camping trips over the summer. We love our Nevada M

We purchased the Nevada M after receiving and reading recommendations, really happy we did. Putting it up is a breeze as we now have the routine down to a fine art. We purchased the footprint, carpet, extension and windbreak, all the extras certainly make a difference. Recently during high winds in the Peak District we opted to take down the front extension but other than that everything held tight. We love the light airy feeling and the room that is available.

We have just returned from a family camping weekend which had its adventures, not least a dash to JR Leisure when our Wynnster Marseille was destroyed by the wind 1 hour after erecting it. We were pushed for time and had limited funds so opted for the Nevada M as it was an Outwell (good reputation) and would sleep all six of us at a push (2 teenagers in the living area, although they have their own small tents)We got our money back for the Marseille and added a few extra pennies and returned to the campsite to erect our second tent of the day. Erecting it was a doddle and it was up within half hour.
It has some nice little features such as the rain porch, mosi nets at all 3 doors and plenty of ventilation. All 6 of us slept in it on the last night and despite rain etc there was no condensation dripping from the flysheet.
The best thing about this tent was that it withstood a right old battering from the wind. I was surprised to read 2 reviews which ended in disaster caused by the wind. We used very few of the silly luminous plastic pegs it comes supplied with (this is the only reason I've marked it down). Instead we used rock pegs and maybe that made a difference. The tent flapped a bit but all in all it stood up well against the wind, unlike our Marseille.
I would recommend this tent as it's roomy and easy to put up with a few thoughtful touches.

We love our tent! We upgraded to this from an Atakama 5, to use for week long holidays. As a couple it is perfect size with room for dressing in addition to sleeping plus a spacious lounge area. The extension is also a good buy, handy to have should it be wet / windy! Have camped in quite strong winds with it and glad to report that no major issues!

This is a nice roomy tent, is a good height and ideal if you know that the weather is going to be peaceful.
However, I have given it 2/10 because if you are going to camp in anything other than a slight breeze, this tent will collapse, particularly if the wind is hitting the side of the tent. We camped for one night in changeable wind conditions; there was no way of pitching the tent in the direction of the wind. By morning the side of the tent was showing considerable weakness and constant re-tightening of the guy ropes revealed that the plastic pegs had begun to bend. We managed breakfast in the front extension, but by mid-morning, the side of the tent was being pushed so far into the living area that the front pole snapped. Admittedly, the wind had picked up, but other tents around us of a similar design were still standing.

Not much I can fault with this tent. Spacious and comfortable living area and light, airy bedrooms, though we have not used it to full capacity. We now have the front extension, which has added a very useful area to cook and sit in and is excellent when it is raining. The only criticism is that a couple of poles have snapped and the replacement poles appear to be much thicker and more substantial.

This tent is a death trap - not suitable for Scottish spring weather and not suitable for family camping!
We purchased the Nevada M, footprint, carpet and extension early April 2011. We put it up in the garden and found this easy enough and then took it camping with the family on the Royal Wedding weekend.
We pitched in glorious weather in a busy campsite. It took about half an hour, but was pretty straight forward. We were really pleased with the tent when it was up - nice spacious living area and lovely and bright. Hence the reason I've marked this tent 1 instead of 0.
However. During the first night, the wind picked up and changed direction. I wouldn't say it was blowing a gale or anything, but it did get quite gusty. We weren't too worried as had all the guylines up and had read good reviews about the tent online.
However, the gusts of wind were hitting the side of the tent, but as our baby tucked up and asleep, we kept it pitched where it was.
At about 12.30 am, there was a strong gust of wind and the tent flipped upside down with the three of us in it. We ended up under our airbed and the other side of our baby who had been tipped out her travel cot. It was an absolute nightmare and totally terrifying.
Thankfully our baby was fine and wasn't hurt. I got quite badly bruised and my husband cut his hand and his glasses were broken. It then took ages to get out the tent as everything was upside down and it was hard to find doors etc. Fortunately we had kept the partition between the two sleeping areas open, so I was able to get to my baby okay.
We managed to get out the tent to find that the cheap plastic tent pegs were bent (guess we should have known better and bought metal ones when we purchased the tent - but we kind of thought that it would be okay as we were told the tent as a package was suitable for spring and summer weather and the forecast had been good), two of the guy lines had snapped and some of the inner had ripped.
Ours was the only tent to have moved. There was a very similar sized/model Gelert tunnel tent next to ours pitched in the exact same direction and it was fine.
To cut a very long story short, we had to pack up and leave in the small hours and drive home.
I have been camping for 30 years and never experienced anything like this. Yes, the wind was hitting the side of the tent, but it was nothing like some of the wind we've camped in previously on the Western Isles. I think the Nevada M is really poorly designed - the wind seemed to catch on the canopy over the side door. The tent pegs are completely worthless - for such a supposedly good brand of tent manufacturer - why are they selling tents with plastic pegs? The guy lines don't seem to be up to much either. I've never had guylines snap before.
We are just lucky none of us were seriously hurt.
I will never camp in this tent again. With much persuasion the retailer replaced the tent with a Vango Maritsa 500 which we had up at the weekend and it seems much more robust. It was windier at the weekend than the Royal Wedding weekend and the tent didn't budge.
If anyone wants to view the Nevada M - try viewing it at Go Outdoors in Edinburgh - they've pitched our old tent - blood, broken guylines and all - as a demo tent!

Just returned from our first ever weekend camping trip in the Nevada M (2 adults and a 4 and 7 yr old). We are absolutely over the moon with the tent which we were lucky enough to get one of the Boxing Day bundle packages so got the tent, extension, footprint & carpet all in. It took about 30 mins to get the tent up which we thought was great for a first go. We watched the video on YouTube beforehand and made a few notes to take with us. We were surprised at how easy it was - even in a high wind.
We didn't put up the extension in the end as we were with a group of other families and had a shared cooking area but we still had bags of space inside the main tent. There is lots of light in the tent and lots of door/window options which I can see would be great in the summer. I would highly recommend the carpet -it makes the tent so cosy.
We were pitched next door to a Montana 6 which was our original choice but have to say the Nevada M offers a great space inside by comparison and is smaller to transport, lighter and quicker to put up than the Monty. All in all would highly recommend this tent and cant wait to go again!

What an excellent tent. We upgraded to this having owned a Vango Icarus 500 which we had no end of problems with (see my review). Absolutely love how light and spacious the tent is. We purchased the full package from Go Outdoors at a really good price (not as good as the Boxing day offer sadly!) but have to say would pay full price for it and still feel like I had a good deal. Very easy to erect and can really appreciate the quality when compared to the Vango. Am definitely an Outwell convert!

I bought this tent for w/end use with the children. We have a bear lake 6, but wonderful as it is, it's too much effort for just me and a children for 1/2 nights. Because we have a bear lake, I wanted to stick with Outwell, and they haven't disappointed. The tent was pitched, and beds, kitchen, chairs etc all in place within 1 hour, with myself and a 10 year old. Plenty of room inside, porch area over 1 door was great with the rain. The only reason I haven't given it a 10 is because it was so hot inside when the sun came out. We could have opened all the doors fully, but then I would have 2 dogs escaping! So, not as good as the bear, but excellent for w/end use with 2 children/ 2 dogs.

I don't really know why I'm writing this review as 58 other people have written about it already however ours is now about to embark on its third season of usage so I thought I would let you all know how well its lasting.
We bought it primarily to use as a 'weekend' tent as we wanted something that was quick and easy to put up but was big enough to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids in relative comfort. We had looked at the Icarus 500 but went for the Nevada M as it was slightly bigger especially in the bedrooms.
The bedroom layout is split into a 3- 2 arrangement with a zip open divider between the bedroom pods so it can be opened up to make one large bedroom. Alternatively if not required the smaller bedroom can be unzipped and folded away to allow extra living space.
Throughout the tent there are lots of nice features, all the external doors have fly mesh on them so they can all be opened up leaving the mesh in place to prevent wasps flys etc getting. The left side door has a nice little canopy over it to help prevent rain getting in when the door is open. There are lots of handy storage pockets in front of the bedroom pods.
It has a nice size living area with a sewn in groundsheet (SIG) enough room for a small table, chairs a kitchen/storage unit. Its also nice and light with plenty of windows all with drop down curtains.
The nice thing about Outwell tents is the number of accessories available, we chose the fitted carpet, nice and cosy, and the footprint groundsheet there is also an extension to fit over the front of the tent.
Overall ours had stood up well to its numerous outings in all sorts of weather, we have had no broken poles, zips or any other damage whatsoever and are looking forward to another season with it.
So to anyone looking for a 5 berth tent give this one serious consideration you will not be disappointed

We love our tent!
This is our first family tent and it is great for us. We have the front extension, which personally I would consider a must for extended family holidays. We used it like most other people, for cooking, storage and also for sitting under during inclement weather - of which there was plenty!
The tent is spacious and incredibly light. We found it easy to pitch, although the front extension took almost as long as the main tent, I'm sure we'll get better with practise.
Our only complaint would be the bedroom sizes. Being novices, we didn't realise that 5 airbeds would not fit into a 5 berth tent! I guess we should have done more research. We managed to get around this by placing the 3 single airbeds across the 3 berth sleeping compartment, parallel to the door and they all fit this way. It was fine for us as the children all go to bed at the same time and don't tend to get up in the night, but it is a bit of a squash, with no gaps at all between the beds and I suspect we will upgrade to something a bit bigger in a couple of years.
We found the tent quality to be fantastic and it stood up to quite a battering during 2 fierce storms. I honestly thought we might blow away at one point, but no damage at all.
We would really recommend this tent, but probably for a maximum of 4!

This is the first tent we have bought, there are 2 of us and one large dog. It is easy to erect, with plenty of room inside, even with the neighbours paying a social call at night. The rain porch over the side entrance is excellent if the weather is playing up. Plenty of light with all the windows. The sewn in ground sheet a must for a very inquisitive dog. Have always been dry and snug. Even with all the furniture and cooking equipment inside it feels spacious. Have just bought the carpet to use this year, may try the extension later. A tent you cannot go wrong with

This tent is absolutely perfect for us (me and two kids, 10&11). Very easy to pitch and only takes 10-15 minutes if you don't count putting everything in it, perfect for when you're pitching in the rain and need shelter!
Would comfortably sleep 4 but would only fit 5 if you didn't use airbeds.
There's loads of room in the main part - we fit a kitchen unit, a table and three chairs and still have room to move. Have now bought the front extension though where I plan to keep the kitchen unit. Will give us even more room in the tent which will be useful on the planned longer trips.
Particularly like the number of windows as there's always loads of light. Also, three doors means that you're not restricted on which way you pitch or how you lay out the inside. All doors take king poles too.
We like this tent so much that I've now bought another one so we can take people with us.

We purchased this tent for weekend breaks as we have a Vermont L for longer stays. We cannot rate it highly enough. Quick and easy erection in less than 20 minutes. Loads of space and plenty of storage with large windows letting in plenty of natural light. Side entrance with rain porch very handy and really cannot find any downside to this tardis of a tent. Although flexi pole with the amount of guy ropes and the roof pole this seems very stable in windy conditions. If you are looking for a quick erecting family tent then this is it.
We have bought the footprint and are considering the carpet and front extension however these are not necessary but 'luxury' additions.
As expected this lives up to the Outwell quality. You really do get what you pay for!

After our first one seeped water from the roof I was a bit sceptical of the replacement but after the bad weather we encountered on our first outing with the new tent I can honestly say that the tent is like a tardis. Loads of living area large bedrooms and plenty of windows. As previously mentioned we encountered heavy rain but not a drop in the tent itself. Some people have concerns about the doors not zipping across the bottom, we found the fly sheet zips across the bottom of the door providing a nearly draught proof seal this in turn provides ventilation which helps combat condensation and stops the tent getting muggy inside.
The tent has more storage than a Barrat house great for stowing away niknaks odds'n'sodds etc.
We purchased the front extension which is very handy but with a bit of wind takes longer to put up than the tent itself, once up though provides an excellent cooking area and ample room to sit outside the tent keeping dry in our summer.
We have since purchased the Footprint an absolute must and the carpet for the bit of added luxury.
Overall a cracking tent and would consider buying another Outwell.

Lovely tent, easy to put up takes 2 of us 30 mins. Plenty of room inside. Comfy accommodation for 4 people even more so when only 3 of us. Love the large living area made better using the carpet for that extra comfort. We also purchased the front extension which is really useful for cooking in,storage, sitting in.Love all the windows to let the light in on a dull day you don't feel hemmed in. Really good buy especially as I got it in the sale but would have been happy to pay full price.

I recently bought one of these after reading reviews on here.
It has ticked all the boxes needed and cant add too much from what has already been said. The only issues I have found is the tent poles broke on a practice run before going away for a weekend and getting replacements have been like getting blood out of a stone. A bit of DIY has now resolved this but not what I would expect from the brand new tent, especially an Outwell.
Also agree with others than the carpet and extra groundsheet really do add to the tent

We brought this tent in the winter sales for a vastly discounted price and could not be happier with our purchase. Used twice so far this year for long weekends the tent has stood up well to wind and rain and the large living space at the front fitted the 3 tier cooking unit, large box of food, dog, 3 children and 3 adults all on chairs sat round a long table - which was fortunate considering the rain!
Fully sewn in - a fabulous feature when the wasps are out in force - the tent is warm and dry with a good amount of sleeping space which can be in two separate areas (3 & 2) or all as one. Opened into one area you can comfortably fit in a double air bed, single air bed and a metal camp bed, with space by each bed and room for the dog too.
Erecting the tent for the second time ever this weekend we the tent was pitched and the kettle was on within an hour. If it had been raining the tent would have been ready to shelter in within 20 minutes - that's with two people pitching and a child helping out with the undoing of the guide ropes.
The number of doors is a real bonus making the decision on direction of pitch much easier. We have had no problems with the rain porch yet but have had issues getting the tension right on that side of the tent at the base but I discovered this was user error and after messing with the tension for a bit the floor was flat.
Another family were using this tent with the canopy and if we had the funds we would certainly purchase one, it looked very sturdy, and provided a lot of extra space which would be handy when away for longer than a long weekend.
If I had to replace this tent tomorrow I would go out and buy the same one again as I am very happy with it.

After much deliberation, We bought this tent along with the front extension, footprint and carpet. We took it for its first run out to Mason's campsite in Appletreewick. After watching the manufacturer's video a few times, it was very easy to put up.
In our party there was 2 adults and three kids (10, 11 and 11) and the sleeping areas proved adequate for us all.
I would definitely recommend getting the extension and carpet for extra comfort and space. Also the footprint is great for keeping the sewn in ground sheet dry and clean.
We had a good deal of rain during our stay and the Nevada M coped really well. There was quite a bit of condensation on the windows and over the sleeping area in the mornings but the sleeping pods were warm and snug, though the fabric on the entrance to them could do with being stronger (we noticed a few tiny slits in the fabric of one of the pods which looked like something had caught on it)
The flysheets did a great job of keeping out the midges.
As we had the front extension, we kept the side doors shut the whole time and just used the front ones. Had it have been warmer and dryer, it would have been nice to open the side doors to allow the air to circulate.
The big windows made it feel spacious and airy inside.
We are looking forward to using it again in sunnier weather!

We are pleased with this tent, although, this year we have felt it a little small for ourselves and our growing children; each time we use it, it seems a little smaller. I can't really imagine 4 or 5 full sized adults in it, never mind in the sleeping areas, the living area is becoming a little cramped too. This year, we have also invested in the extension, which was definitely a good purchase, as we knew the weather was going to be particularly poor on our first camping trip this year, but we have used it again as it offers so much extra space and is now used as the camp kitchen.
I notice this time too that there was less baggage space for us, as we have had to buy some new airbeds and they are bigger than the ones we have replaced, so there is not much space at all now in the bedrooms. So, stick to narrower airbeds if you like some space around you.
I have no complaints at all about any of it's features; the zips never get stuck and there are plenty of doors. The panoramic windows and doors are an attractive feature. One of my favourite features are the useful pockets which house all the bits and bobs that would normally get lost around the tent or left on the table in the middle taking up any space!
We find it quicker and quicker to put the tent up, and it's pretty easy anyway. It's very sturdy in bad weather and doesn't leak, although if the layers are touching when it rains, the wetness will come through. The footprint and the carpet are also good buys to go with this tent.
Overall, not bad at all for not a bad price.

I own and use a Nevada M, quite a lot. I go on camping trips almost every weekend, and often midweek too.
This tent does not let me down. Gales, heavy rain. It copes.
It is spacious and easy to erect (I do so on my own).
Provision of pockets in the various walls helps to keep things tidy. It's storm door is just great when it is raining. Three doors allows for excellent ventilation and access no matter what the orientation of things are.
I also bought the kitchen extension. This is fantastic on nice days or in rain BUT in high winds take it down!
It is like a huge open mouth. Nothing you can do to keep it down if you happen to be facing the wind.
I recently bought a quick pop up tent for short overnight trips. I made sure it was an Outwell too!

We were looking for a good quality family tent, in which we could be comfortable in. This Outwell ticks all of our boxes. We have never camped before, so I did a bit of research before we bought the Nevada M. As a family of three, we wanted to make sure my son had his own room, because he's only 4 I didn't like the idea of him sleeping in a pod, across the other side of the tent from us. With the Nevada M we have the peace of mind he's right next door to us, I have the option to open the adjoining wall if we choose to do so.
As we have never put a tent up before, this was a piece of cake to put up and take down, we did watch the manufacturer video which really helped. There is lots of living space inside the tent, and with 3 openings your spoilt for choice. The ventilation was great, nothing felt damp in the morning. The bedrooms are a good size, although I think if there was 5 of you sleeping in it you would have to be good friends. It's just right for 2 adults and 1 to 2 children. The Outwell Nevada M was the best tent for us. We really enjoyed camping in it and can't wait to get out in it again.

Bought this for weekends away with the kids. Easy to put up and take down. Loads of room for us, we bought the front extension which proved valuable when cooking in poor weather! No problems with leaks or draughts. Our only criticism would be that plastic pegs have bent and buckled after only 2 trips. (but that might be my husbands heavy hands!)

What a great tent, I have owned a similar tent by sunncamp, and a larger tunnel tent also from sunncamp, but this is by far the better tent. Due to damage to the older 2 tents, I had to go shopping for a newer model, and out of all that I had looked at, I settled on the Nevada M tent. I am 6'5 tall, and to be able to stand up in a tent is a must have for me, and in this one I can, although not so much in the bedrooms, it is still ok for me.
The bedrooms are really quite versatile, as a couple camping, we stayed in the larger of the 2 rooms, and used the second room as storage/wardrobe, which kept the living area clear, although there was some things still in there.
The partition between the rooms, opens to create one large room, though as other have mentioned there is a small upright of the divider left on the floor, but really I'm not sure why you would want to sleep in separate rooms, but each to their own. As two adults in the main room there was plenty of space. The spare room also has another zip going all the way round it, and I found out that this will actually unclip away from the outer skin, roll up and fasten to the main bedroom on the floor of the tent, in effect creating a 1 room tent, with even more storage area.
The very handy storage area between the rooms, is as it says on the tin, very handy.
I loved the fact that all the doors had the fly screen attached, and found it no great hardship to open the screens to roll up the windows to then fasten the screens again.
Having said that I also purchased the front extension, and basically lived under this for the 1st weekend that I have just spent in the tent, watching the world go by through the 2 very large windows either side of the extension. Though like others, I'm not sure I would use this in high winds.
Very easy to put up and very easy to put down, though I did watch a video first, and thought that I was experienced at erecting a tent, I failed to read the instructions and hints/tips about opening the doors before putting up and putting down, next time I will certainly do this as this will make all the difference ha ha but this was my only mistake with it.
Over all for a couple, this tent is definitely a winner

We bought this tent from Millets, with a money off voucher and I have to say its one of the best purchases I have ever made.
For just me, hubby and dog it has loads of space, it is very well made, and took us just 20 mins to put up.
Over the weekend, we had rain, wind and sun, and it stood up to the rain and wind with no problems.
I would recommended this tent.

Love this tent , its brilliant, had a gelert horizon before, which was great but we like this better.
With the bedroom closed we put a chair each with table in the middle , the tent shape flows well, nothing seems to get in the way, there always seems to be enough places to put stuff. The view is panoramic with windows shut, the bedroom huge, and we can walk inside without brushing our head on the entrance , perfect. One day we might get a shape like this in cotton.
The only thing to watch is the side entrance door sewn in ground sheet is high and you have to pick up lazy feet over it , or you will go flying out the door like me , which hurts!

We bought this tent last July and the more we camp in it the more we enjoy it. We particularly like the bedroom sizes/configuration as the 3 berth room makes an ideal double and the double berth room makes an ideal single. As with all tents the recommendation of a 5 berth would be far too cramped, but as a 3 berth (2 adults and one child) it is superb. Our only niggle with this tent has been the rain safe door which can put a big strain on the mesh door/zip (more about this in my review later *2009 Model Only). If you are after a good sized 3 berth family tent, then you can’t get much better than the Nevada M.
When we initially bought the tent we had not been camping for at least 20 years and it had features that I did not necessarily understand or see as necessary. However after several camping trips I can now identify lots of things that are great in the design and I’m so pleased that they are included.
SIG: Sewn in Groundsheet, this is a great feature as it seals you from the outside world. You are free from draughts, bugs/insects and the rain.
Mesh Doors: Fantastic feature! You can have all three doors open with the mesh doors closed, which creates a really good air flow without filling the tent with flying creatures or insects.
Three Opening Doors: One great feature of the Nevada M is that it has three opening doors. Even though it is nylon tent it does stay remarkably cool when the three doors are open (mesh doors closed). I’ve noticed this when visiting tent exhibitions as well, the Nevada is definitely a cooler nylon tent.
Good Ventilation: The Nevada has several ventilation points which all combine to help reduce condensation in the tent and help cool the tent in warmer weather. Most of the ventilation openings can be individually opened or closed.
Guy Rope Ties: I have appreciated this feature more and more as we have erected and dismantled the tent. It seems a fairly pointless feature at first but it is great for keeping the guys neat and tidy when packing the tent away.
Rain Safe Door (2009 models). Before I start, can I just mention that all 2010 models have had a complete redesign of the rain safe door and as far as I can see Outwell have now eliminated any problems. On the 2010 models the Rain Safe Canopy is much bigger and the attachment point for the rain safe door pole has completely changed.
Rain Safe Door: On the 2009 model some people have complained of too much tension on the Rain Safe Door caused by the door canopy pole. On our first pitch of the tent we did not experience this problem at all but have on other occasions. Interestingly enough we were back at the original campsite where we 1st pitched the tent this weekend and again we were tension free. My belief is that the problem is caused by the way in which the tent is pitched and most importantly of all is whether the pitch is completely level. On each occasion (only twice) where we have had excessive tension on the mesh zip door it has been on sites with a slightly sloping pitch. On both occasions we did not use the door. This has been the only niggling problem with the tent.
Set up Time: At a very leisurely pace my wife and I can have the footprint, tent, carpet, canopy and all wardrobes kitchen; beds etc unloaded and fully set up within 2 hours. The tent itself can be up within 10-15 mins and fully pegged and guyed within 30-40mins.
Doors Curtain/Mesh: Some people have mentioned that it can be a bit of pain with the curtain being in the middle of outside door and mesh door. As we only ever have the doors open with the mesh door closed or the main door fully closed (with the curtain down) we have not felt annoyed by this but understand that people do. One thing that we did find initially confusing was all the hanging toggles on the doors. With more and more practice we have got used to this and again have actually found the feature very useful.
Strong Winds: We camped in Cornwall last August in very strong winds, once the tent is up and fully peg and guyed the tent is very stable in the wind. One thing about Outwell tents they do seem to have a lot of guy rope points! As this tent has fibreglass poles, the most likely time to get a breakage is when erecting or dismantling the tent especially if it is windy. We lost two poles this way last August but a bit of Gaffa tape got me through the holiday until we could repair the poles on our return home.
Additional items to buy (Recommended)
Front Canopy – makes the tent so more usable as you have somewhere to cook and eat if the weather is not so good. Highly recommended
Ground Sheet: As the tent has a SIG (sewn in groundsheet) this is a definite must buy/make item as it keeps the bottom of your tent clean. It also gives you clean surface to work on when erecting and dismantling the tent. It is great aid in helping you to choose the ideal pitching spot for your tent as it gives the exact footprint size for your tent. You can easily move it around until you are happy about your final tent location on your pitch.
Carpet: This one has been a bit of a strange one. I always thought it was more of a luxury and a unecesary item but after having bought one and used it several times I would now class it as an essential must buy. It just makes the tent feel so much better and is way nicer on your feet in the morning/evening rather than standing on the plastic SIG. If you have not got one, get one. You really won’t regret it.
We have gone from liking this tent to loving it. We have been impressed by some of the design features which you really start to appreciate the more and more you use it, which to me has to be a sign of good design. Well done Outwell.

Just fantastic! Spacious, can be erected in 15 minutes, great access, hard-wearing - perfect for our needs and brilliant value for money! Every time we camp, we get compliments from other campers who are impressed by the ease of putting it up and the layout. We really love this tent and will get another when this needs replacing, but I imagine that is some way off as it is such good quality!

Excellent tent by Outwell, we have tried other makes of tents but always come back to Outwell. There are 3 of us in our family, so the Nevada m provides enough room for us all. We also have a lot of kit with us.
It is so easy to pitch my husband can do this on is own or with our help. It takes us about 15 to 20 minutes depending on weather conditions to pitch (thats from footprint to carpet inside tent).
The bedrooms are plenty big enough but I would not like to sleep any more than 3 in this tent, as we like room to move about. The tent is well vented and there are plenty of windows to look through on those wet days.
Being as it goes up as one saves time on putting it up and taking it down. When taking it down remember to not zip your doors up fully, this always for the trapped air to escape quicker.

Excellent Tent, well vented, 3 doors so you can really open it up, 3 layers to the doors, outer with window inner privacy screen and inner fly screen - 2 sleeping compartments which can be zipped out to make 1 big one as we do - fully sewn in ground sheet so no bugs and electrical hook up entry point and cabling system - easy to pitch well made and plenty of accessories we have the carpet extra footprint and windscreen - all makes for an excellent choice - Outwell quality as well.

We've just come back from our second camping trip in this tent. Generally we are very happy with it.
There are only two of us and we love the space it provides inside, we always travel with a lot of kit, so having the spare cabin to store all our clothes and activity gear is great. One of the deciding factors for purchasing this tent was the 'panoramic' window effect -which is great when the weather outside is particularly bad and you just want to sit in with a tea and the newspaper and watch the world go by.
I agree with the comments about the doors, it did prove to be very draughty on one of our colder windy camping trips. But being bug phobic I did like the zip around net curtains.
We had very strong winds on our recent camping trip and the front extension didn't bare well. It was unfortunately pitched so that the wind blew straight into it causing a tunnel wind effect. We eventually took it down, fearing it would be torn down by the wind. The tent was fine in the high winds though.
All in all we're very happy with this tent, and hope to use it for many years.

After spending quite some time looking at a number of tents, we decided on the Outwell Nevada M as our 'return to camping' home away from home. We've both done our fair share of camping in the past, but crawling around on hands and knees is losing its appeal and we wanted something with standing room and some decent space. With the footprint, extension and carpet, we were ready to roll as Glampers :-)
Our first outing was a trial by water. Rain was forecast for the weekend, and it had lightly started during the drive to the site. It took us 20 minutes from unpacking the footprint to laying the carpet, which we thought for our first go together wasn't too bad. I'm guessing we can get that down to 10 minutes once we have a routine sorted, and remember things like having the doors open so air can get in when doing the poles, and having them closed before pegging it out.
We were torn between putting the extension up to give us more room, but we were also wary of the fact that we don't have much tent drying space at home - it was going to be a challenge getting the tent dry on its own, let alone an extension as well. We decided against it for this trip, although now we kind of know what we're doing it'll be used next time out.
So, with all our gear moved from the car and the rain in full flow, we got settled for the evening. We had been worried that with two reclining chairs in the living area there wouldn't be much space for anything else, but we were very comfortable with a large cooler, two stool/tables, a suitcase stove, food/kitchen/utility boxes, an electric heater and a Lulu Tourlette (Kampa khazi lookalike). Our bits and pieces stored easily in the bank of pockets that run down the front of the sleeping pods, and the Nevada M has an additional pole running along the inside of the living area ceiling, which was perfect for hanging the lights on. We did joke that all we needed was a 40' flat screen TV, there was plenty of room for it :-)
I'd not want to prepare a full English breakfast for four inside the tent, but heating a pan or boiling a kettle was fine. We set up our small suitcase stove on a low stool/table in the centre and cooked quite happily - having opened all the vents we had no problem with condensation.
By this time the wind had started to pick up, it was dark and the temperature was dropping. The doors themselves are zipped down both sides, but only have three velcro strips along the bottom which leaves it quite drafty. In order to get a 'full seal' you also have to close the inner mesh door, which is zipped all the way around. As others have mentioned, it would be preferable to have them in the order of outer door, mesh door then curtain. It's not a showstopper though, more of a 'nice to have'.
Whilst on the subject of doors, we love the fact that the Nevada M has three, so when the wind and rain shifts you've got the choice of where you enter/exit, although you then have to leave those doors clear, reducing the amount of floor space available inside. The door with the eyebrow porch (which incidentally had no problems, at least on our 2010 model) is also where the cable entry point is; since the door with the rain porch would get more foot traffic, I'd have thought this would be better on the other side of the tent, so that you lessen the chance of tripping on the cable.
And talking of tripping, the door sills are too high for my liking. The wife didn't have a problem, but my clumsy gene is more developed, and did end up flat on my face a couple of times. Ok, so I'm a slow learner :-)
We'd set the full size camp beds up with feet towards the pod doors due to the slight slope of the pitch. We could have been both in the larger of the two pods, but that would have given us about a foot between the beds, so the divider was unzipped and we spread out a bit more which gave us tons of room. If you're glamping, then this tent is great for two people, maybe two adults and a small kid. Obviously the smaller the sleeping system you use, the more people you can get in, and yes, it would be a 5 man tent if you all had mummy style sleeping backs and slept alternating head/feet/head/feet/head - It's down to what level of comfort you are happy with. Since the divider is sewn in as opposed to being just a curtain, there is a small 'sill' that runs along the floor between the pods. This doesn't cause a problem for camp beds that can straddle it or those sleeping in line with it, but if you were to have a larger airbed it would pull on the seams of the inner tent, so you'd have to bear that in mind. There are, however, adjustable straps for the pod roof, so you can relieve the tension if it ends up too tight.
The temperature was down to about 3C overnight, so we did have the heater on inside the closed pod initially before crawling into the sleeping bags. It didn't take long for it to take the edge off the chill. It rained throughout the night and in the morning there were no leaks, and no condensation. So far so good :-)
The rain didn't let up at all for the next day, and in the evening noticed a few spots of water on a box. Looking above it, we found that one of the triangular vents above a corner window had a damp seam on the inside, and it had dripped from there. It's possibly due to blowthrough since the vent had been left open all day, but it's nothing that a bit of seam sealer can't cure - nothing worth taking back to the shop over. I've long since stopped expecting perfection from anything, so if it's only a slight weeping from one spot, I'm happy with that :-)
The rain finally stopped sometime in the early morning of the next day, and we did wake to some condensation on one of the wife's fluffier blankets - quite strange as there was none on the others. Maybe she sleeps warmer than I do :-) There was a little on the inside of the tent, but as soon as the sun was up that cleared quickly, and by midday the whole of the tent was dry.
Packing away took us longer, about 30 minutes. This will get quicker when we get used to which way to roll it to fit back in the bag :-) The Nevada M has velcro loops sewn in near the guy ropes so that they can pack away neatly - quite handy. We've decided to keep the pegs and pole separate, so that the weight is more manageable. Just have to remember that, so we don't end up on a site with no pegs or poles :-)
So, a summary. Even without using the extension, the Nevada M has tons of space for two people to spend a wet British weekend in comfortably. For a week or more in the rain I'd say the extension is a must from the cooking point of view, unless you're happy with one pot affairs, or cooking outside under an umbrella. The headroom is great - you don't feel cramped at all, and as a 6 footer the wife can stand happily in the sleeping area without having to crouch over. Although it doesn't have the steel poles like the Minnesota 4, it feels quite sturdy, and certainly wasn't flexing as much as the Vango Icarus 500 we saw at a tent show. Having the carpet and footprint aren't a necessity, but do make it more comfortable, and helps with the tent's longevity. We're looking forward to many years of camping in this tent, hopefully with some sun :-)
Overall, I'd give it a 9 out of 10. To get a 10 it would have to have lower sills, cable entry point on opposite door and fully zipped outer doors. As I said before, no showstoppers :-)

We purchased this tent, after much research, as our downsized weekender. Whilst there were a few contenders during the race, this tent was always one of the firm favourites. A little more expensive than some of its rivals, but worth it I think. Perhaps a tad large for a couple, but we like the extra space.
Pros:
Well made; I cannot find any flaws in the seams or stitching; although I expect this from Outwell.
Easy to pitch and strike (easily goes back in the bag with loads of room to spare).
Good amount of living area.
The two person sleeping pod can be detached and rolled up to make extra space at the rear.
Loads of windows for those rainy cold days when you have to stay put, but want to watch the world go by – this aspect of the Outwell “front” tapered design (seen in the Nevada, Carolina, Oakland and Minnesota and others) is something that never occurred to me when shopping for a tent, but really stands out once you use the tent in inclement weather.
Minor bits and bobs like light holder pole, storage pockets and hanging points.
An excellent front extension, that, having used, I can’t imagine the tent and camping in general without it.
Saves me over 20kg in weight and some space in the car when in transit compared to our other large tent.
Cons (niggles really):
The doors don’t zip all the way round. All the doors have a straight zip at either edge, the bottom of the door being a flap that attaches to the tent via Velcro. A more prefect seal is made by the internal mosquito nets that do zip all the way around and have a canvas section at the bottom that forms the door seal. The consequence of all this is that to have a good wind and bug free seal you have to have the mosquito nets zipped up and this obscures your windows. It is also quite fiddly to attach the door flaps to the Velcro strips when you are inside the tent. I appreciate that this design may help with ventilation, but I think the tent already has adequate ventilation. I view this as minor though in the grand scheme of things.
Previous models of this tent have been criticised for the side door canopy pole putting too much tension on the tent. Given the pole assembly is now a “redesign” I personally think it still is a rather tight fit. Whilst it does not appear to put undue pressure on the tent, it can be tricky to fit, and on only my second pitch I accidentally bent one of the angled metal ferrules. It was easy to bend back into shape, but I now treat the pole with caution.
In summary an excellent tent that has more then met my expectations. I love the front extension and all the possibilities it provides.

We bought this tent because of the bug nets that are over every opening after nearly being eaten alive last year by every known flying insect! We did have a Higear Mojave 5 which is bigger but lacks the bug nets. We have just come back from our first 3 nights in the Nevada M and we have decided its a keeper but I would advise getting the front extension just for the extra legroom especially with kids.

We bought this tent towards the end of July 2009, along with the footprint and the front extension. We looked at loads of tents before we made our choice, but we decided on this one for the living space it provides. We wanted to get a good quality tent that would last us a long time, so we invested our hard earned cash in this model.
The overall size of the tent is perfect for a family. It is classed as five berth and would easily sleep five, if at least a couple of them were children, but I think with airbeds it would be a push to sleep five adults.
There is standing room in the bedrooms as well as the living area and plenty of storage pockets.
The mesh on the doors is great and provides privacy as well as being functional. The large windows on all sides provide lots of light and makes the tent feel spacious and airy. There are three doors so plenty of options there, one of which can be used as a canopy with the poles provided.
We found the SIG to be a major bonus and noticed a considerable difference in the warmth of the tent when temperatures were on the lower side.
The extension was a great addition and such a bonus in the inclement weather. It was just great being able to sit and cook outside, even when it was raining and not have to be cooped up inside the tent.
The footprint groundsheet was also a great buy. It kept the bottom of the tent clean which, with a SIG has always got to be a bonus.
Now I come to the reason why I only gave this a 7/10! We used this tent for two trips for a total of five nights. On the fourth day/night of use it rained heavily. Before going to bed, as we rolled down the curtain covering the rain door, we noticed water had collected in it. On further investigation we found it was coming in over the rain door and by morning we had a large puddle in the tent. As we had only had this tent for less than six weeks we decided to return it.
We bought it from Yeomans and they were very helpful and there was no problem with the refund at all.
We could have got a replacement (had they had any in stock) but we decided to look for a slightly smaller tent as there is only two of us and although we want some space and comfort this was perhaps a little too big. Great for living in on holiday, but when you have to dry it out, it is a little on the large side.
It was our first experience with an Outwell tent, so that was unfortunate, but they come highly recommended both on here and from close family, so we would not have a problem buying Outwell again. Probably, we were just unlucky to get a faulty one. Here's hoping anyway!

We bought the Outwell Nevada M tent, the front extension, the carpet and the footprint. The tent is great, and the carpet and footprint make it all cleaner and warmer but we have had to return the front extension because a pole rubbed against the side of the fabric and made a hole, on both sides and a tension strap came off. So we got our money back and are now looking for a side extension to put over the porch entrance but there seems to be conflicting information - what I need to know is ---- which extension fits the outwell nevada m side porch? thank you

This our first tent, we have bought very late if not at the end of the season.
We looked at numerous tents and narrowed it down to Outwell Nevada m and the Iowa. I happened to call a friend of mine who has camped for years and he had bought a Nevada M. I went down and erected the tent with him just to give me experience of putting them up. They all look good in the shop on display but what's it like to put it up. EASY PEASY thats what I found.
Whats the reason for choosing this tent?
We liked the layout of the tent, such as the front living space is bright and roomy with lots of light. The numerous pockets for stashing stuff. My Missus and daughter (7 yrs old) liked the built in fly screens and also the seperate sleeping pods with alround fly screens. The main likes are the ease of how it goes up. Even in wind it's still a breeze ( ha ha) to erect with just 3 poles. Without rushing and from removing kit from the car to stepping inside we can erect in about 30 mins including the additional footprint and internal carpet.
What we don't like.
Like a many of the reviews the side door under the canopy is very tight due to the pole.
Thats about it really. Yes this is our first tent and we have nothing to compare too. But as a NEWBIE I feel that more experienced folk and other NEWBIE'S should look at this tent. We will be getting the front extension as we will be taking the dog and cooking out and feel this will make this a lot easier plus we can sit out of the tent but undercover even when the weather is persisting down.

Love this tent, easy to pitch, roomy, lots of light and lightweight. We have had 4 trips in this tent so far and it has survived in torrential rain with no leaks. For our first tent purchase I don't think we could have made a better choice. We have also purchased the front extension which is excellent and allows us to sit/cook outside with shelter and makes it much more usable.
I have the same gripes as everyone else, the curtain/ flysheet arrangement plus it's a fiddle tying them up with the toggles. Also on our last trip the zip on the front door has broken so we had to suffer with a draft coming in. I've since discovered after reading these reviews that you're meant to zip the doors up before erecting the tent, hence, there was a fair bit of tension on the front door; I wish I'd known sooner!
All in all a fantastic all round tent for short or longer breaks.

I love this tent! Easy to get up, me and hubby don't threaten divorce whilst putting it up!
Have the same problems with the door canopy as everyone else, but not really a problem to us.
We have just used this tent in gale force winds in Anglesey. What can I say, this tent performs. Whilst it was breezy it barely moved, but when the gales hit us the tent got battered! The tent was folding in at the side but just bounced back and we checked for damage, or signs of stress on the poles and the seams, and there was nothing there to report about. It is a brilliant tent. We have always used Vango , but friends of ours bought the 2008 model and we decided we needed one, so got one, and we are so glad we switched. This is a big enough tent for 3 people (1 was a child), and it perfect for quick getaways. This has been a popular tent in our area, as it has been sold out for months, so if you want one you may need to go to e-bay!

Just bought this after experiencing the benefits with my friends tent and the user reviews on here. Bought the side extension as well which is real handy in wet weather for shoes etc.
First mistake with erection was not zipping the doors fully closed during erection to get the correct tension - oops!
This door rain canopy pole is a problem and does put far too much tension on the door zip even with its tension strap at maximum length. As I have read before - I cut off an inch or so with my handy Leatherman and it immediately solved the problem without compromising stability or strength. The tensioning strap can then be used for optimum tension without straining the door zip. It really does work.
The door/blind/flynet layout I also agree is an unnecessary pain - yet I'm sure I've seen the correct layout in other Outwell extensions? So they can indeed make it that way.
I decided on a bit of luxury and got the carpet as well - glad I did. The side extension does help you to keep it clean though by removing shoes outside first. I also bought the footprint to aid keeping the underside clean. Intend to buy the canopy poles for that little bit more usability as well.
No noticeable condensation inside during the warm August nights.
All in all, very pleased with my purchase despite the minor gripes mentioned by me and others. Looking forward to many happy camping trips now with the added comfort for me and the wife.

It's brilliant!
Just got back from a short break in our new Nevada and it was excellent. The fully sewn in groundsheet and midge screens on all the doors were very efficient at keeping out the beasties. We'll be trying it in Scotland next so fingers crossed it will be midge proof!
We didn't bother with the optional carpet (we're camping so are prepared to rough it a bit). We looked at the footprint but (on cost grounds) decided to improvise with a tarpaulin from B & Q. This worked very well at keeping the underside clean.
The headroom and space inside were very useful and appreciated. You get a very nice smug glow being able to sit inside on a miserable, wet evening. However, there is a slight drawback with the height. You need to stretch a bit to tie up the end door.
The pitching WAS easy (2 of us took about 20 minutes), although if it's windy an extra pair of hands would be very useful.
The 'rain safe' side door does work as advertised if the rain is just falling straight down. However, it's not quite as succesfull in typical British rain that tends to come sideways!
There were only 2 of us sleeping inside (very comfortably) and noticed no condensation inside. There are good-sized air vents on both ends and all four corners, which should cope with more bodies.
The provided blue tent pegs are secure but the little hooks for the guy ropes are a bit flimsy. Two were already broken off when we opened up the tent.
The little velcro 'guy-rope tidies' are handy for keeping things neat and tidy. Unfortunately, the velcro is very attracted to the guy-ropes themselves and can be a little bit fiddly.
My wife did make the VERY good observation (as always) that having the blinds on the inside of the mesh doors, would mean not needing to open the mesh to lower the curtains at night. This would also keep the curtains dryer and less likely to catch the wind if using porch poles.
Additionally, a darker material for the sleeping area would be nice for long, light evenings and early sunrises if you're looking to have a long lie-in.
Overall, an excellent tent that we're looking forward to getting lots of use from.

Recently bought our Nevada M at a camping exhibition. Have used it several times now; once for a weekend in Yorkshire and just had a week in Cornwall. All the family love it - plenty of room to put the kids in together and for us. Very easy to put up and take down, with three entrances. Fly sheets to keep the bugs and flies out and we are still finding different bits that can be used for hanging bags, clothes etc. Millie, is now one of the family.

This is a great tent.
Roomy, dry, good head height, plenty of light, lots of doors, lots of storage pockets, .
VERY east to pitch, even virtually single handed.
Carpet and footprint groundsheet are both great too.
Kids room makes it even better for the kids as they feel as if it is their space.
4 of us (2 adults and 2 small children) camped in it for 10 days and had a great time.
Did get a tiny leak in the roof where the central pole is in torrential rain but only a few drops of water.
Zip arrangements are a bit fiddly.
Got a bit painful when it rained for 3 days as didn't want to be in the tent the whole time so bought the front extension (which I was convinced we wouldn't need) and it made an excellent combination. The addition of somewhere under cover but essentially outside was brilliant.

This is our first tent of this style, the previous being a large canvas frame tent with poles that weighed more than the total weight of the Nevada. It is primarily for use by just the two of us so there is ample space for everything. There are a number of points for and against this tent as follows.
For.
Easy to pitch - Takes only 30 minutes from out of the bag to fully erected including guy ropes.
Large separate sleeping compartment.
Large living area with sewn in ground sheet.
Large windows allow views to all except the back of the tent.
Excellent ventilation.
Against.
No safe cooking area so have to be really careful when the weather is bad (as it has been!).
Poor door design means having to fully unzip inner mesh to gain access to curtains. No facility to partially open doors and sometimes difficult to attach and detach toggles after doors are rolled up.
A darker material would have been better in the sleeping area - it's far too bright first thing in the morning even when it's raining!
We have used this tent now several times and despite the apalling weather, it has been an enjoyable experience.

We bought the Nevada M last year and love it. So far only the 2 of us have been camping in it, its easy to put up and very roomy. Hubby is 6 ft tall and finds the height brilliant (no bad neck) We unzip the partition and use all the bedroom space, plenty of room for our Queen Anne size airbed / wardrobe etc. The Living area is big enough for table / chairs and cooking area.
This year we have bought the front extension but the only drawback is the colour, our tent is last years blue model and the extension is this years mocca colour (It dosen't come in blue)Also got the footprint groundsheet but not used them yet. Our 1st trip was to Cornwall last year and the tent withstood some very high winds and heavy rain on a cliff top. We had no leaks and creep crawlie visitors. We love our roomy tent

Just back from a weeks camping in Scotland, very pleased with the Nevada M. We were caught in the thunderstorms that flooded some parts of Scotland but not a leak in the tent. Very easy to erect, it takes me and my wife 15 minutes to put up, a very good all round tent with no problems at all.

We bought our tent in 2008 after a lot of diliberating and viewing camping exhibitions & shops. We have been camping for years, so wanted to carefully choose yet another tent and make sure it was not just going to add to our collection in the loft! We wanted one big enough for our family (2 adults & 2 children aged 2 and 4) but didn't take up all the boot space or need a trailer. We have a Volvo estate and don't have a lot of kitchen equipment, but by the time we have packed all the camping stuff & the kids toys, the top box and the car are so full, my husband warns us we can't even break wind or the car will explode!
The Nevada M has been perfect for our requirements. We have bought the Nevada side extension too, which we were warned wasn't really for the Nevada M, but it seems to fit fine & provides a great cooking area & eating shelter for drizzley days.
We have also bought the kids bedroom which is fabulous & our kids get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
We have one of those double height queen sized airbeds which takes up all the triple bedroom. The kids are in ready beds so have ample space in their double room. They'll still have plenty of space when they move up to standard single air beds.
The only problem we have had is with the poles. The elastic snapped in one after the first outing, but the shop repaired it for us. Now we have used it several times, the metal on one pole is bending back. Maybe this is due to the tension that a tunnel-type tent takes?
We experienced the tension with the zips that other people have mentioned, but it was because we had erected the tent incorrectly. You have to unzip the zips to put the tent down, but make sure you erect it with the zips done up or you won't be able to zip them up again.
I also like the layout of the bedrooms. If my littlies wake up in the night I can unzip the adjoining bedroom walls and talk to them without leaving my warm sleeping bag! Something I couldn't do in our old vis-a-vis tent. Also, the SIG makes it less draughty and protects everything from the rain.
Great tent for more than 1 night (we took a simple 5-man dome tent when touring France for 1-night stop overs). We would defo use the Nevada M for a fortnight's holiday, but we have never owned a bigger tent!

The side porch has straps that DO NOT need to be fully tight. Those having issues with the side door being 'tight' zip hard to open/close have erected the tent wrongly!
A fab tent and as we have the front extension shall be using this for a few years. Best features the pockets on the bedrooms, electric cable access zip, front panoramic views. Also like how you can put down half of bedroom area too. We have the footprint, and carpet too all together a fantastic outfit for £240 including the extension. A bargain!

We bought this as a small weekender (our main tent is the Nebraska XL). Initially had some problems finding a combination of airbeds that worked, as the width is based on sleeping mats (@60cm) rather than airbeds. Finally found that two double airbeds, plus a kid’s readybed fitted to sleep 5 – though the pod divider has to be rolled up. One double airbed with three child readybeds will also squeeze in.
The new Mocha colour was off-putting at first, but we found it quite relaxing in practice, and after the initial ‘erk’, the 70’s style bubble carpet was fine as well. We haven’t had a problem so far with the porch zip, and the bedroom door mesh is a tiny bit at the top, so no worries about flashing the neighbours! Panoramic windows around the living area make it seem bigger.
Going from such a large tent to one without a front porch made us think about things we never had before. Where do muddy boots go? Where are we to put on our shoes? The rain door did a good job of keeping water from dripping directly into the tent. We used half a picnic blanket along with the complementary Outwell doormat to create an entrance area and keep our carpet clean. Lack of windows that open was a bit disappointing – it’s the entire door up or nothing. This also meant that ventilation had to be provided at the bottom of each door – they didn’t zip securely around, meaning that the bug mesh had to be fully zipped up all the time. This made getting in and out a little more time-consuming. (In case you’re wondering, a crawling baby will escape through the slightest gap!)
The carbon fibre poles were good at first (second trip out, the elastic cable snapped as we were setting up). Lovely and light for lugging around, and very easy to clip onto. We found we tend to put too much tension on the guy ropes though, and the whole structure would bend out of shape. Finger taut only! We had a bit of a wind when putting up, but didn’t find it too much of a problem. Getting back in the bag was easy.
Living space is pretty decent. We comfortably fit in the Outwell Haiti cupboard, a table, three chairs, with plenty of space left over for a rug rat and, if necessary, two extra chairs for visitors!
Not a tent I’d want for a two week trip (without a utility tent in addition) but just fine for weekends and short jaunts.

We love it, our last tent was a Vango Diablo 800 that always lead to frayed tempers trying to erect it properly.
Our priorities for this tent were:
1. Easy to erect (put your tent name into youtube.Com for an ease of pitching video, bit anorakie but it saved us from buying a Vango Orchy 500 (as well as the reviews on this website of course!))
2. Roomy
3. Budget of around £200
4. Able to stand up in it
We have now used it for 3 weekends away in May this year, on the first weekend we worked on our pitching technique (tunnel tent design is new to us), we can now very quickly pitch it right first time, about 20mins including the footprint. We did find putting some tension on the front pole before the back pole essential. We have not used it in heavy weather yet, Cornwall in August for 10 days may be a good test.
Sure there are a number of things that could be improved such as having dark material around the bedroom but value for money, unbeatable!

I purchased a Nevada M and we went away in it last week. On day 2 of our holiday the zip on the outer porch side door failed, there is a lot of tension on this door. I returned the tent for a refund and was told they had never heard of this problem before. Reading on here there are quite a few problems with Outwell porches.

Had this tent for just over a year now its great easy to put up etc, plenty of room for the 5 of us. Even when it has been pouring in rain we can all sit in, we have one problem with the porch door, we have a little rip coming on the zip not sure how happened. We have got the extra poles and now have the front open. Fantastic tent.

We bought the Nevada M as a second tent to use for weekends, rather than taking our Nebraska XL . Took our Nevada M out for the 2nd time this year, and its a fantastic tent. It fits our family of 3 just right. We roll the bedroom divider up to create one big bedroom, and there is loads of room. We like the amount of light that you get with this tent. It is quick to put up, takes us about 15 min. The only poor comment, is that the porch door does have tension on the zip when closing but this is something we knew about before we bought it. The carpet is great with this tent stops all the rustling noise. A good weekend tent.

Took this tent on its first outing to the Scottish Highlands, where it rained everyday. It was brilliant. Easy to set up. Very impressed with the size of the bedrooms, we unzipped the divider because the camp beds took up a bit of space and there was room to store most of our equipment under the beds. We didn't encounter the problems some people have had with zips. Excellent tent

Just come back from using this tent all I can say is Fantastic easy to put up and take down even for a novice like me. There are more than enough lines to tie the tent secure it is not going to move any where. Big enough living area maybe tight if you had five people I used it for the wife two dogs small and myself. Front opens to all three sides plenty of vents but it was really cold in the evenings so we had a bit of condensation inside the tent each day. Loads of clear windows letting in loads of light. Two bedrooms or one great big one if you like. I had the footprint and the carpet recommend these extras. If you are looking for a nice looking usable easy erect/take down 5 man tent then go for it.

Just bought this tent last weekend and used it over the bank holiday at Woodhouse Farm in Yorkshire Dales.
Very easy to erect and took about 20 mins, the tent looks quite small compared to our old Coleman Savannah 6 but makes up for it by being bright and spacious inside. Think it would only reasonable suit a small family or a couple because bedrooms are quite small.
The difference is the weight as well, tis tent comes in one pack and weighs 18 kg whilst the Coleman was steel poles, 3 large bags and 40 kg.
We are also waiting for the side extension to be delivered to our local Winfield store so we can put our kitchen outside.
Slight negatives : the window, door, fly sheet combination, someone else mentioned it, you have to roll everything together and tie it with silly dangling ties, a bit fiddly and annoying
Liked the inner organiser pockets to pop things in because these were see through so you weren't always losing things
Overall lovely tent and very user friendly

Just got back from a one nighter with our new Nevada M. It took us just over half an hour start to finish complete with footprint and carpet. First time with a proper carpet and found it really cosy. Really pleased with the light, spacious, roomy and well ventilated living area especially the good overall headroom which meant as a tall person I didn't get a wet head from the small amount of condensation on the roof in the morning. I wouldn't want to put 3 people in the larger of the 2 bedrooms in fact in warmer weather I would probably open up the bedrooms even though there are only 2 of us. Overall however I think it is an excellent tent especially for a couple or small family for a weekend or much longer. The only niggle I have with this and indeed every tent I have owned so far is the colour of the when the sleeping area. Why can't manufacturers make the sleeping areas or the sleeping area roof dark to make it easier to sleep when the sun comes up so early?

Used for the first time this weekend in Keswick. We wanted a tent that would be very comfortable for 2 people that we could put up and pack away quickly.
From dropping the bag on the ground to knocking in the final guy peg the tent took me 35 minutes to put up on my own, including pegging out the footprint groundsheet.
With two people and a bit of experience I am sure it would be around 15-20 mins.
There is plenty of room inside, no problem with head- room and I would be very confident in the stability in bad weather.
All in all delighted with the tent and looking forward to more weekends like the one we have just had.
Apart from my sunburnt head !

We bought the Nevada M to replace our Indiana 4. Used it at Easter for first time.
It went up in no time, 20 mins with two of us. (And no swearing!) Once up very impressed with space and layout.
Asymmetric bedroom split is great, we used the larger to sleep and the smaller as wardrobe/storage/junk room! Well made, no leaks, well ventilated and due to new Mocca colour, very airy. Sewn in groundsheet was a big reason for us buying.
Gripes? same others here, rain guard pole does tighten the area between main poles and makes door tight. Zips can snag on material, but after a couple of goes you can get technique right.
All in all, our best tent yet, looking forward to 'summer' now, then we can test rainproofing!

I have a replacement which I cant wait to use because the Nevada is such a great tent - easy to pitch, loads of space, bright and airy, excellent quality and lots of attention to detail. Got the carpet too as a birthday present ! Going to use it at Halloween and cant wait ! Must be mad.

Like other reviewers have said, this is a brilliant tent all round. I managed to put it up on my own in about 20 minutes without any huge difficulties. I love the size, light and spaciousness inside the tent and the central roof pole is very handy for drying towels and hanging my lantern from. I picked it partly because of the sewn in groundsheet - I camp with two dogs who have worked out how to escape from tents with a gap between outer and groundsheet so this means I can relax and not worry about dogs getting out and other wildlife getting in (not to mention draughts)!
Other handy features: 1. The built in pockets are very useful, 2. The guy-rope holders are very convenient, 3. I like the way you can have two separate bedrooms or unzip them to make one big bedroom or even remove one of them completely.
Only three issues with the tent: 1. As someone else says, it is far too easy to catch the fabric covering the zips on the doors and you have to get used to being very careful every time you use them. 2. The pole that holds the rain guard over one of the door puts a lot of tension on the two poles on either side. This means that the door between these poles gets quite strained and is very tight. I worry that after a lot of use the seams might be weakened. I ended up leaving out the rain-guard pole (it's not essential anyway) and this seemed to solve the problem. 3. The bedroom doors have a mesh top above the opaque bit. I know there isn't much privacy in tents anyway but I found that when I'm standing up, the see-through bit of the door is just about level with my chest, meaning that I have to close all the outside doors if I want to get changed without the whole world seeing me! I'm quite short as well so it's probably even worse for a tall person!
Other than those three minor issues I love this tent and I've very happy I chose it.

We bought this tent with the matching carpet and footprint groundsheet for roughly £250 at the end of June and have since been away in it twice.
The larger of the two bedrooms can accomodate a king size airbed whereas the smaller bedroom can take a standard double airbed quite easily. On our first trip there were 4 adults and we still found the tent to be spacious enough for us all and on the second trip for 2 of us we were able to use the second bedroom as a storage/wardrobe area.
The living area comfortably housed our two chairs, table, coolbox and kitchen area when not in use outside and still left plenty of room to move around.
On the three occasions that we have pitched the tent it has took no longer than 30 minutes to pitch including guying out and we were very impressed with how it withstood high winds on a quite exposed campsite quite easily.
Two of the three doors can be used as a canopy (poles are NOT provided, we used some from our previous tent) and the third has a handy rainporch which helps keep the door dry so that water doesn't pour into the tent when it's unzipped.
Downsides? Hardly any. We did notice that for some reason the fabric does seem to pull quite tight around the zip on the porch door and the zip does seem to catch on the fabric quite a lot but this is really a tiny issue in comparison to all the good things this tent has going for it.
I would recommend this tent to couples and small families wanting plenty of room for weekends or longer getaways who don't want to spend a lot of time putting up and taking the tent down.

As others have said, this is a very nice tent, but which could benefit from one or two changes. Here are my likes and dislikes.
Likes first. Good ventilation, like the fact that it has three options for doors including a rain porch.
Bedrooms good size and height.
Pitches easily and quickly.
Good organiser pockets - seem nice and strong as well.
I particularly like the pole which runs, inside, up the middle of the living area and which I can use for hanging lightweight items like tea-towels for drying. This one feature is responsible for me buying this model rather than the Montana 4 or the Minnesota 4.
Flysheet is nice and strong.
Love the size and airiness of the living area. We are able to cook in here if it's raining (with plenty of ventilation, of course). On our test outing with it, we had quite a lot of rain and were able to get our camping kitchen, the dog's travel crate, a table and four chairs out without falling over anything. It was more cramped, obviously, but it worked.
Since I've given it a score of 8 out of 10, I'd better say what I don't like about it.
The system for the three layers on the door - rain windows on the outside, blind next - attached to the rain windows - and the 'no-see-um' type mesh - is not good. It's a fiddle to have to unzip the mesh just to get at the blind - I prefer our Vango Diablo's system of having the blind and the mesh zipped together. With that, I just unzip the blind and roll it up and then I have the mesh there to protect me from flies. With the Outwell tent, I have to unzip the mesh to get to the blind, roll up the blind, then re-zip the mesh to protect the living area from flies - that's too fiddly. This could be solved so easily by the blind being the first layer on the inside and the mesh between the blind and the window.
The toggles for holding up the doors etc are also a bit of a pfaff! Certainly they're secure but I don't find them as easy to use as my Vango ones, which are just a toggle on elastic and a plastic ring. With the Outwell toggles, I struggle to work out just which one of the three sets dangling are the right one to hang it up to. I could live with this, but it could be made simpler, I'm sure.
The groundsheet is a bit thin and the base of the inners in the bedrooms is really quite thin and silky in style. That makes the bedroom floors difficult to sweep and I worry that they might be a bit vulnerable. Again, something I can live with - just think that the main groundsheet would benefit from being a bit thicker.
Last, but not by any means least, I don't like the way the zips catch on the door with the rain porch (not sure about the other doors, don't usually use them except open as porches). I have had real difficulty with the zips and I can't see that the tent is faulty in any way as the stitching looks fine and the zips are inserted nice and straight. It doesn't help that there are zip cover flaps (can't think of any other way to describe them at the moment!) from both directions, so catching the zip seems to me to be almost inevitable. In my opinion, it would have been better to have made sure that, either, there wasn't a flap on the layer with the mesh at all, or that it really only came part way over, then the flap on the flysheet itself, which is essential, would be the only thing the zip might be in danger of catching on. This is a problem which must be fixed - there's too much danger of ruining your tent if the zip gets caught when a child is using the zip and continues to tug to try to get it free.
To sum up, it's a superb tent which could be improved by fixing the zip issue and the window layer issue.

We bought one of these 2 months ago and have used it on two trips so far. Really roomy living area with loads of light and options for letting in ventilation. Really easy to put up too. We had torrential rain on the first night of our latest trip and had no problems with leaks. Lots of handy pockets and a nice looking tent when it's up too. The sewn-in groundsheet keeps it draft and bug-free and was very comfortable to sleep in. We also bought the Footprint groundsheet to help protect the floor, and it does also help with keeping the cold out too. Great size for our family (two adults and one child and sometimes a a dog!)although I think if we had more children we'd need a bigger second bedroom and would have gone for the 'L' model.

Bought one 2 weeks ago from Outdoor Mega store after spending about 1 year lurking and trawling through the UKCS site for my first family tent.
Easy to put up even for a complete novice like me and has loads of room for us, 3 adults and 2 children.
With the all around windows in the living area it gives very good light and a sense of sitting at home in the sun room only hopefully with nicer panoramic views.
Choice of 3 entrances with bug nets and inside window blinds for windows.
Pitched it in backgarden to test it out and it has rained nearly none stop for 2 weeks.
Camped out for 6 nights and not a leak. No condensation problems due to the good all around ventilation.
Have only given it 9 out of ten because there must be some fault I haven't found so just in case it gets a nine.
So far so good and I'm really pleased with my first choice of family tent.

I second everything said in the previous review. I bought one last weekend and have just pitched it in the garden for the first time. It was so quick and easy.
We are a family of 4 and think the tent is the perfect size for weekends away and it will also be great for longer holidays.
We also bought the carpet which fits great and looks really good. We are considering getting the canopy to give us added outdoor space for cooking etc.
Altogether this a brilliant tent. Plenty living space good size bedrooms (one can be taken down to give more space) great quality and easy to put up and take down.
We are really pleased with ours.

Just purchased one of these, thought we couldn't improve on our previous tent for ease of erecting, but was wrong. Took 15 mins max to erect by myself.
Very light & airy inside with plenty of room for us inside on a wet day if necessary, & no worries of any rain water or bugs getting in with its sewn in groundsheet.
There is a zip for main elec unit access in lower part of tent & another one in Bedroom area so you can have electric light in your bedroom.
Very good ventilation, with bug nets that can be put over all opening doorways, (so no nasty creepy crawlies)
Typical Outwell excellent manufacturing quality & great value for money, (have seen poorer quality tents with much less features for more money)

Manufacturer's Description
This compact tunnel tent sleeps up to five in two bedrooms. Huge windows, backed by toggle-up curtains, ensure plenty of light enters the tent and great views out. This is enhanced by the panorama front that also provides even more space. The looks are further lifted by the use of the new Treetop Green colourway of our own Outtex 4000® tent fabric. The Nevada can be pitched either outer tent first or all in one. This is further simplified by the addition of the Outwell Easy Pegging System. The unique Outwell Wind Stabilizer System provides even more stability in up to Force 9 gales. A Rain-safe door keeps out water when access is required in bad weather. The tent is packed with Outwell DNA features like pre-attached luminous guylines. The inners have the new chic logo-embossed fronts and Night Sky Ceiling to aid sleep.
Recommendation: A compact tunnel tent with an award-winning heritage, which is ideal for up to five campers.
