What Did we Think? Our Review

The name might be a mouthful with it's various abbreviations (*explained below!) but this is a fantastic compact cooking stove, weighing in at just 9.4kg. It comes supplied with two griddle plates (one smooth and one ribbed) two wind deflectors, a handle for safely removing hot plates, and a sturdy, high-quality carry case.

With its three rings, we found this stove ideal for families of four or more. It easily handles cooking a big breakfast or a hearty evening meal for the whole crew. While it is on the larger side when packed away, that extra size is actually perfect for longer trips when you're cooking for more people.

The stove features three burners: two large and one smaller ring. The smaller ring is great for using the included coffee pot stand (perfect for your morning caffeine hit). The large rings are sturdy enough to support full-size saucepans or frying pans, while the smaller ring handles single-pan meals beautifully.

The included GreenGrill ceramic flat grill plate is perfect for frying - eggs and bacon or pancakes etc, while with the ceramic ribbed grill plate you can grill fish, burgers and vegetables. The removeable pot stand means when using your own pans they are held securely and feel very stable.

Rubber feet on the base keep the stove stable on a variety of surfaces - no sliding around while you're cooking. The piezo ignition system worked flawlessly for us; the burners fired up instantly and were ready for the bacon and kettle in seconds.

We loved the fact the stove is fitted with a Flame Failure Device (* FFD - that's one of the abbreviations!) on each burner, ensuring that the gas supply is automatically shut off should the flame be extinguished unexpectedly.

Of course, the huge advantage over charcoal cooking is that gas gives you instant heat and precise control - your food is cooked, not burnt, and it's so much easier to set up and clean afterwards.

Versatility is a big win here. The cooker runs on all types of gas bottles. We used it with a Butane 907 gas cylinder - the Quick Release system (* QR - the second abbreviation!) which is included is excellent - just pull the connector and it pops out, saving you the hassle of screwing and unscrewing every time, or dealing with a loose hose when not connected. If you prefer, you can connect directly to an onboard gas system or different types of gas canisters, making it a great choice for caravans and motorhomes without outdoor gas hookups.

Cleaning was quick and easy. We recommend following the instructions to prime the grill plates before the first use. When not in use, thanks to its low profile, it stores easily with the rest of our camping gear, and comes with a great storage bag. Packing it up is simple—the grill plates sit at the bottom of the case, the stove rests on top, and it all zips up neatly.

At a recommended retail price of £250, it's definitely worth the investment for families who want a high-quality, reliable stove.

Overall, this is an excellent piece of kit, and we’ll be using it again and again on our camping trips.
