Are you a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club? If so, would you be prepared to use small sites without loos or showers? Rockpoint CL at Llangarron is lovely.

Hi
many thanks for your reply, I have just amended my post, no I am a camping and caravan member and would require toilets.
Not sure if it suits, however, I went to stay at Yew Tree Inn last year in August 2022, and have already booked to return later this year.
It is a cider pub with camping facilities. The campsite right next to the pub is adult-only with EHU, toilets, showers and washing up facilities.
They also have pitches in their old orchard a short walk away from the pub with minimal facilities and no EHU.
Great for cider lovers.

Thanks, I love Cider and this really ticks the boxes!
Hi, what you'll find is the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean are side by side.
Wye Valley has the Wye flowing through it and Forest of Dean is to the East of it extending as far as the Severn mostly around Coleford and Cinderford areas.
Both areas have attractions and you will probably want to visit both areas.
What sort of things would you be interested in?
Be aware that the road through Symonds Yat is very narrow with limited ability for vehicles passing. Anyone gtting stuck will incur much wrath.
However, Symonds Yat rock has breath taking views across the Wye etc. You actually look down on the birds of prey circling overhead.

I would avoid Pitches 1 and 2 as they are right next to their beer garden, which can be noisy if there are lots of critters and ankle biters running around on food nights.
The campsite may be adult-only, however, the pub is a family pub!

I stayed at Yew Tree and I was on Pitch 2, absolutely no noise from the garden, apart from the lawn mower man at 7.45am on Saturdays doing the pub garden!
All in all a decent break, did Pluzzlewood, Symonds Yat rock and river walk, Goodrich castle, Ross, Hereford and Monnouth.

Glad to hear you had a good stay.
The beer garden was quiet probably because the weather was too cold and miserable for punters to sit outside!
Did you sample their ciders?

The Yew Tree Inn, as mentioned above in this thread is lovely too. Treat yourself to a pint of their strong dry cider, but take it slowly and with immense respect ...

Yeah the beer garden wasn't very busy, though in summer, that would probably change and yes concur, the further pitches, probably best for lower noise!
