Hoping for some help in identifying a campsite in Wales, near to the coast, kid friendly that will accept caravans and tents for a large family summer holiday 2008. Not really wanting a large commercial site but somewhere the kids can have fun and if possible somewhere to fish!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Gryn Goch (SH 388 475 ) on the Lellyn Peninsula has a tent field that goes right down on to the beach. I don't know what the fishing is like but there was lots of fishing going on just up the coast from the pier at Treffor.
I have seen the site mentioned on here recently but can't find it now. Could be a spelling thing because I can't find it in camp site search either.
I remember another site just south of Aberystwyth but that might not be suitable due to high cliffs.
Have a look at Hendra mynach on the camp site search it is in barmouth with access to the beach and the promenade and you can fish from the prom when the tide is in, its a 10 min walk along the prom into town with a small funfair for the kids,

Hi, Try here ABERAFON gryn goch, They take caravans and tents, The lower field is virtually on the beach and there is a stream that runs down the site onto the beach that the kids love, Plus you can fish on the beach, Really nice safe site for kids

Aberafon is the name of the campsite at Gryn Gloch. We have just come back from there it is a super site and there are helpful reviews in the campsite search section. There has been a recent post Aberafon Campsite which I started.
My only negative comment is that the access road is VERY TIGHT. A sharp turn through a narrow gateway and then a couple of narrow, wall lined spots on the way down. The lane winds down through woods with a stream on one side and no passing places. Although an experienced 'vanner, who has towed all over the UK and western Europe, I found it difficult with our Bailey Senator Arizona (7.2 metres). Hugh the owner is very helpful and offers a tow in and out service for £2 each way. After a lot of heartsearching I took up his offer and he towed us out with his 4x4. He made easy work of it but as he said he has had a lot of practice!!
Hendre Maynac is nice very near the town of Barmouth but, it has a very steep hill to get to and from the site.Try here also there are lots of sites along this route
