Little Trevarrack, is not bad.  Bus into St. Ives directly from the site.  Parking the car in St ives is a bit of a nightmare.  After saying that, my own preferance would be to stay further out.  Globe Vale in Redruth is wonderful.

How about Gwithian Farm near St Ives http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1098.

It's just over the cliff to a lovely beach with a good cafe & surf hire etc.

The site's really laid back and is opposite a good pub (Red River I think).  There's also a good park & train ride into St Ives.

It's a long time since I was there, but Ayr Holiday Park had great views.

Another vote for Polmanter but I just looked at their availability for August and they are pretty well booked. You would have to check (the prices might frighten you anyway depending on the number in your party). We used it out of season and used campingcheques. Can't believe the difference in prices. Great British rip off springs to mind.

Hope you find somewhere and hopefully cheaper.

Polmanter for me too.

Though I doubt whether you'll get just a couple of nights in August. Many folk book year on year to stay here.

They do have an excellent website - and this gives you availability at the time you specify. Link at http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1484

Hi there,

all the sites in St. Ives are good, Polmanter and Little trevarrack are members of the same family, both quality sites.

The biggest problem you may have is that a lot of sites in August will have a minimum booking of 7 nights, but I may be wrong.

Worth giving them a ring

Jake
