Hi does anyone know of any campsites that have streams that you can play in - Nantcol looked fantastic but no availability.

We are looking for anywhere as far down as Devon and probably as far north as Yorkshire but would prefer to be near the coast rather than the centre of the country.

Neither are near the coast but Fforest Fields (Wales) and Cote Ghyll (North Yorks) both have a stream

Holme Open Farm, Sedbergh, has a river/stream running along camp field and its great as long as no heavy rain as then it does get deeper, otherwise just past ankles. Also has a play barn and café. Allowed campfires too. Quite central for Morecambe and the beach, Lakes and Yorkshire dales. Another one I can think of is Malham Cove, Skipton, Yorkshire but not really near coast.

Seadown camping & caravan site in Charmouth Dorset has a stream running through it. The stream runs across the sandy beach adjoining the site and across the beach the stream is suitable for playing in.

Charmouth is a Charming dorset village (named after the stream - the Char) on the jurassic coast. Well regarded for fossils and the fossil museum. Good safe beach which is unusual for this stretch of coast. Dorset is England's most beautiful county (IMHO).

We love Charmouth. Not Seadown so much but others do and it matches your needs exactly.

Not quite Devon, but on the Devon/Somerset border:

Westermill Farm, Exford - river/stream runs right through the site, campfires permitted

Doone Valley (Malmsmead) Oare - stream also onsite, nearby tea rooms, campfires permitted. Lynton/Lynmouth a 15 minute drive.

Both sites are back to nature, basic sites. No frills but set amongst fantastic scenery - very rural but proper Exmoor!

not quite the area you wanted but park foot campsite in ullswater in lake district has a great little stream to play in and 2 play areas for the kids

Knight Stainforth in Settle has a river running through the bottom of the site, not quite a stream though. We went last summer and the river level was very low and safe for kids to paddle. Would imagine after heavy rainfall it would be quite fast flowing and deep though.
